I like the stock whip, however, after years of using my SSV exclusively I did miss the wider inner diameter of the SSV tubing. Combine the two and I think it's step above the standard set-up. I feel like I can take much deeper and fuller lung hits. And I already had both 14mm and 18mm adapters so hooking the Herbie up to my rooster was the logical next step lol. Easily my favorite way to use the Herbie, even though I find the water takes away from the taste, it allows my to go all the way to 445F and still take massive one hitter quitters without raping my throat. Although if ceramic adapters are around the corner you can count me in to pick one of those bad boys up.

Yeah I got these and I ordered my Herbie like last month. Just failed to report it during the cloudy mist between now and then!!

I'm glad that the increased diameter tubing is working for you. For me, the stock tubing works fine and I can blow super big clouds (especially at 420F +). However, I do get what you're saying. If you're using water filtration with the larger diameter tubing and want a shorter session, you could probably kill a bowl in like 4 or 5 hits and blow monster clouds with your method .

I only switched it because the stock hose was sticky and I didn't enjoy the draw speed w/o it!

I also have that mouthpiece. I received my Herbie 6/30/14.

It's only been a month, and my whip is so sticky I can't stand it. Powdering isn't helping much either. It smells really bad too. I may be replacing my whip this weekend.

Try some thicker tubing stuck over the connection instead of inside it. I haven't used my stock whip since doing this.

I just bought 3 more stock whips from Herbalizer. When I run out, I plan to look at other tubing, SSV tubing perhaps.

Another thing, Vicki...Vitolo has suggested using baby powder on the outside of the stock whip, and when I gave my stock whip a nice ISO bath it came out good as new.

Meanwhile, it is time for a maintenance routine.
1st.. I cut the whips on half.
1.5 ft. of tube is plenty.
I take paper towel folded flat and I pour 91% Iso on it.
I grip tube firmly and pull it though the alcohol paper towel.
I do so so I can fell the alcohol smoothly sliding along tube.
I repeat a few times then I do it with the clean side of the paper towel.
Then I do it a last time with a clean dry paper towel.
Then I feel it and am happy!
It will last for a number of sessions.
If it is old tubing I may need to do it every day or two.
91% Iso evaporates fast.
There will be no residue.

Vicki is using concentrates too, I think... and that adds to a rough tube smell... moreso than flowers.
Using flowers with a tube, after wax, does disguise the "inner tube" scent as well!

It is important to note that silicone is porous (actually it is semi-permeable) under conditions (conditions being expansion and contraction due to heat... )... and THC is invasive and moves easily.(and runs from heat.. to seek the cooler comfort of the secret zone inside the tubes walls... a place only "it" can know!)
The stickiness is really only troublesome when you approach the cold tube!
After a few hits, the silicone expands a bit, and re-surrounds the oil layer.
At the same time inhalation places negative pressure (suction) on the tube, and the warmed persistent THC oils move a tiny bit toward the inside of tube.
Together these things make the third and 4th hits of a session much less tacky.
Oils from BHO concentrates harden more after the leakage, so are slightly more stubborn.
Flower residue is simpler.
In situations where I need medicine and I go to that cold Herbie and the tube is tacky....
Rather than obsess fpor that moment, I grab a hit or two.
By then I notice the hose is warmed and not so sticky.. maybe not sticky at all at that point.
* note to self:
herbie tube will be tacky when it cools.. dont forget to wipe it down at that point!

To anyone who may be interested in the whip design that I posted, I contacted Herbalizer just to ask about it. They said that the whip that I received was the first design, and then because they thought it wasn't economically viable they switched it to the current white whip design.

  I use a paper towel/t shirt soaked with iso and a hot water rinse. Seems all the dish soap in the house is scented so I haven't been using dish soap. IF you use higher percentage iso it may cause some plastic to react as a few of us have reported a white like substance/film on the inner most valve part. Didn't notice it when using 50 % iso

I was shocked when I got mine last week but it doesn't fit as good into machine on mine so I had to switch new mouthpiece to my old whip. I'm getting awesome results with my water told and bags tho. The whip kept falling out , thd one that came with fits perfect.

These should be nearly identical to the stainless steel mouth piece on some of the herbie whips. The only difference I can see is the o-ring on my herbie whip is opaque silicone and not black.

New to the herbalizer and had a question. How many times are people hitting the same bowl. I have an underdog and would hit it 3 or 4 times then pack a new stem. So if i start out at like 290 and slowly work my way up to 400 how many hits are people getting off a bowl?

After testing out the Herbie with @lazylathe, I seem to not be satisfied with any of my other vapes (Cloud, Nano, Solo) flavour wise!!! You don't taste bad "popcorn" at any point with the Herbie it seems? I still can't stop thinking about it!

I've been thinking that a finishing grinder may offer a bit of an advantage with herbie's extraction, since the convection draw is so wide open it may work out well.
Has anybody tried this, and made a comparison to using just a shredder?
