I'll be honest, Vito got me into 7th floor tubing years ago as they're standard was unmatched as far as quality. The tubing my No2 came with brand new looked like a water line for a fridge.

And you are correct about the size, when I used the no2 I actually used a 7th floor whip and I used a smaller tube at the joint to make the connection. The vapir whips were always stiff and quite frankly they taste awful - hence your dislike for whips unless your using said whip to beat the shit out of friends and family.

The Herbalizer tube is very consistent with the quality of 7th floor stuff just smaller.

Can we not buy tubing direct from the Herbalizer crew?

And dreamerr - stop fucking disappearing, it's nice to be whipped every once in a while.

I can't really speak to the herbie tubing but to me it is by feel, smell and touch. I know the pv tubing is.

Now if you want another beating I will take it to the pd thread.

I have been up at full blast a good deal... and with dry stuff as well.
Maybe I will back off 1 or two degrees when I am "tinder-dry"!

appreciate the heads up! I have been finishing every bowl off on the max temp I wanted to be sure i was getting the most out of each bowl.

I know what you mean about knowing when you combusted. i got a flashvape recently. it's super obvious when you have smoke. you just know it.

i am shocked to hear you got it on fire though. did you see a black spot in your abv when you opened the herbie chamber up?

the flashvape makes me think of trying to start a fire in the woods. you are pushing closer and closer to the point of combustion. but trying not to cross over that point. I am still learning with it. but it's fun I can't help but think something similar happened with your herbie chamber. the draw speed must have risen the temp enough to cross that point.

Was there a cherry in the bowl or a sign of ash?. Was there some chunks of herb in the bowl, and not all ground up evenly?.

If the answers are yes, I assume you did a strong inhale. This will cause the temperature to get hotter due to the bulb adjusting to keep the temperature where you want it. Since the herbie claims to have a variance of 5f degrees, it most likely went to 450f. If you had a small chunk in the herb, a small amount of that hot air will get trapped, and as you inhale strongly , it will get a little higher in temperature thus causing combustion in this case.

Just inhale more slowly, and have a much more even consistency in the bowl.

Remember all of this is alleged.

I doubt it because auto-ignition of cellulose would need something else in it that can absorb heat and get real hot quick. Cellulose is a carbohydrate that doesn't hold heat well which means it takes a lot of energy to get it to burn(notice how pasta cools off fast, while oils take a while to do the same thing). If you had a type of oil on that cellulose, you can get it to burn much faster because oils hold heat well, and can keep getting hot, even if the temperature doesn't change. This is probably what happened in the case with grokit, and tweek. The trapped hot air caused the lower boiling oils to burn, and since they were trapped, they heated up the plant fibers to exceed burning temperatures, and boom, you have combustion. With no moisture to cool down the cellulose, the oils can reach high temperatures and burn the cellulose. This can happen really easy with a bowl that is packed, the herb is full of sticky trichomes, dry, and the temperature is high at the start of your session. Allegedly.

I read the wiki auto-ignition and this sums up what I think is happening:

Auto-ignite, means burns right now (one source in the article, uses 2 minutes as right now), not in 10 minutes after browning, or 2 hours after you left the pizza box next to the electric coil which goes past 1000F. Auto-ignite, need some standard, is it 2 minutes, or what. Put paper in oven at 451F, it takes 10 minutes to brown up, that is not auto-ignition. This is science, not cut and paste from sources. In fact, was it a standard day, etc. etc. etc. After 15 minutes at 451 my paper was browning up like my french fries, not auto-ignition burnt, on fire. Maybe paper will ignite at 451F after 20 minutes, that is not auto-ignition. Is Flash = auto-ignition? I thought it meant burn up now, at 451F, and paper does not, my paper was 490F and it was not burning, in air, 1200 feet.
