Shouldn't be too hard given it has a proper matrix LCD and computational hardware. Well, the clock/alarm function, anyway. I assume this thing can at least beep?. Radio a no-go without antenna/tuner/amp modules, though. Also it would need some sort of button-cell battery back-up to hold the time through shut-offs.
Man, it'd be awesome if these things were firmware-upgradeable so they could add features or tweak performance later. Not gonna hold my breath, though, as that way disappointment lies.

Lame, according to a reply to a comment on the Facebook page the "hidden feature" is the fact that the stash box and some other accessories are concealed in a compartment in the lid. I thought we already knew this?

This looks like a misunderstanding. The question was posed on Facebook originally and copied here. FB users were never told about the stash compartment, but FC users were. I think vtac forgot this when he re-posted the challenge here.
This does make me wonder what SliM had in mind when he posted this:

It wasn't revealed anywhere as far as I know. Yes a stash container is part of the hidden feature, but there's a bit more to it than that. No it's not a wifi controlled sensor that eliminates odor and checks your vitals when you blow into it then transforms into a roomba to clean your house and upgrade its own firmware. I think it's a neat feature that opens up possibilities for some future customization or even collaboration. A custom fit JyARz stash jar would be sweet.
WiFi connectivity and some sort of API could have some really cool applications in a vape, and I think that the brains behind the Herbalizer would be the right folks to do it. However, for their first vape it makes sense to get the basics right first and nail vaporizing performance, especially considering development costs. Let's not forget that they've gone to great lengths already in creating the most accurate temperature control ever put in a vape. To qualify that statement:
- A digital display and sensor configuration that provides an accurate reading of the temperature the herb is being exposed to
- A heater that can get hot and cool down very quickly (< 10 seconds)
- Software that can accurately adjust the system to maintain the set temperature in near real-time even when the user is inhaling

As awesome as that would be, you are probably right to not hold your breath. I remember reading it would have 256 kb of memory, which seems too small to be able to handle any upgrades. Then again, they are NASA guys, so who knows what they will be able to accomplish... I think they got to the moon on less memory than that

256K is heaps. People can do staggeringly amazing things in even just 64K. The 64K "demo" programming scene is well-established.
Plus tweaks for this thing would just be stuff like customising text labels in the interface; font/size/colour/location/text, tweaking animations, and so on. Maybe uploading custom splash-screens or other graphics, etc. Could even have interface themes available to download and flash, etc, maybe even user-created themes...
Though I'm sure if someone felt creative enough, they could whip up a hidden Space Invaders Easter egg or something; there's enough buttons on the unit for "left", "right" and "fire", at least. The complete code of the original arcade game only takes up an 8K ROM image.
