The Herbalizer

Thank you for the welcoming :^)

@Engineer , are there any plans for a portable vaporizer coming from you/herbalizer?
Not likely. The portable market is simply too saturated; because of the development costs it doesn't make good business sense to enter that market unless a name brand is first created and then leveraged, or the product is a super cheap Made in China deal. Herbie doesn't have brand name recognition yet, and we don't make anything cheap. S&B just came out with two portables, and they are doing it right.. even though their product is just o-kay, but they've got a brand name established so they can successfully introduce a product into a highly competitive market. But the uniqueness of portable halogen in your pocket is sexy and could work, then again the halogen filament would break too easily when tossed about as portables often are. There is one other filament type that has instant heat up and a high degree of control though. I'm looking into it but not expecting a positive result.

I see there is a used Herbie for sale on ebay.
There is a description and the end is signed Josh...
Hmmm....
Haha.. not me.

You're right Josh - just keep your focus on the streamlined slimed down, vaportherapy only, less expensive Herbie that you're planning!

Looking forward to supporting your kickstarter/indigogo campaign! :brow:

I AM BACK my friends! I got super busy packing up my gear and saying bye to friends in sunny San Diego, and am now traveling the country visiting friends, showing off Herbie, and building new alliances. Anyone want to sync up and has a couch to offer, PM me! I have good stories to tell :brow:

You may consider me Active here again, but there will be short spurs of no activity along my journey.

The new website is taking longer than expected to launch - again - but my (former) employees Bob and Sheila are working very hard to get it up. As always, expect the unexpected. :p

So where we leave off? I believe I said I would answer @biohacker next:

So here's the deal with this. The RTD temperature sensor lives directly below the hot air outlet screen. Yet the heat source is behind it, and there is a very short time delay between the hot-air making and the hot-air sensing because of the distance between them and the laws of convection. Further, because you can visually see the temperature sensor you can also blow on it and cool it down, but the hot air will re-balance and the temp sensor will come back to where it should be. That was anticipated, and the key to giving a great user experience is making operations simple and not confusing (thank you Steve Jobs). So the software programming was written so that the small temperature variations don't cause the temperature reading to move. There is always the objective to balance functionality with usability.

Then you asked a great question - about why the temperature indicator 'jumps' sometimes. Anytime you go into Vaportherapy Mode the indicator shows you actual temp. Sometimes it gets a little hot without telling you - but don't worry, because as you then draw air from the system it quickly recovers. So the short answer is, the system is working as intended and you found a way to trick the software. Good job

I am happy to be back! You all have been so freakin' important to me to Herbalizer. Any questions you may have, about Herbie or Herbalizer Inc., I am here for you with full transparency.

Woohoo!
Howdy I would also like to ask the same question "portable vaporizer coming from you/herbalizer?" Also is the frequency really important they way it has been advised, that is it wont work properly on 50hz (Aus) Thanks for any feedback.

There are a couple in the Classifieds section on the forum as well. It is a large expense, I can see why some people are having buyer's remorse, as I did. Awesome vape, just not for me.

Most of the Ebay sellers are profiteers, selling at inflated cost, with more than one to sell. I saw one on there listed at over $1000!

Jack of all trades, master of none.
I agree that the aromatherapy function is lacking and would like to see a model without that function. I didn't buy it with that in mind though. I just wanted a chance to see what all the fuss was about and I'm glad I did.

Hey guys i bought an herbalizer and i've been using it for a month or so.
I would just like to share a way to enjoy your herbs that will give more benefits!

I found that when you fill the balloon and then plug your whip into it and inhale with the whip attached to the balloon it gets your A LOT higher. I don't even know why, maybe like when you drink alcohol with a straw ? Anyway, try it and let me know if you notice any significant change in the potency of your vapor :)

I am wondering if there is any way to do a reset on the Herbalizer? Like a Factory Reset on it?

I LOVE my Mighty.. I do love the Herbie- I left the Herbie alone for a while and stuck with the Mighty then i fired up the Herbalizer- It was WHOLE different experience and it wasn't as harsh and much cooler than the Mighty.. I wanted to part ways with the Herbie to cover for the Mighty but right now I am hesitant to let it go!

Led me to thinking if I had a cool unit since I had this.. That s why i am seeing if I can do a Factory reset and maybe I might have to send it in for some service... Any tips?

If anything, you should lose more actives through condensation in the whip, no? OR, perhaps it's even cooler so you inhale even DEEPER?

Ludwig,
Why do you think the Herbie is running cool?
Something similar happened to me when I moved up to the miniVAP. I thought it seemed to run cool, based on the ABV color. Even on 440 F, the ABV was not dark dark brown which I expected.
It fooled me because it's temp control and airflow management are so accurate (like the Herbie) that there are no hot spots or temp over-run to get it that dark. It is supreme at extracting but the ABV looks lighter than other vapes.
It could be similar with your Herbie.

Have you tried the Herbie ABV in another piece to see if it is fully extracted?

Ludwig, there is a test @Engineer told us about to see whether your herbie is running correctly.

Start with a clean bowl and fresh, clean screens.
Grind up your material to a medium fine consistency.
Half fill the bowl and screw the lid onto the bowl.
Heat Herbie up to MAX.
Place bowl on Herbie, without a whip - Just the bowl.
Press the fan button and let it freestyle the vapour till the fan turns off.
Remove bowl and give it a shake,
Replace on Herbie and repeat with fan at MAX.
The ABV should be a nice, even, dark brown,

There are pictures of what it should look like in the thread a few pages back.

Has anyone tried using the Vapolution infuser? Just realized last night it should be possible and tried to hook mine up (the one made for the 2.0 not the inline) and it worked as a sort of straight shot setup. I'm going to try a longer whip tonight. With this so close to the heater I am concerned about cooking my stored material esp in fan mode.

Anyone tried this and if so what has your results been?
