Almost there...
I'm in that same tough place! I'm just borrowing this Swagger HT from @lazylathe and feel bad to rob him of his precious! But now that Herbie is my daily driver i'll need more than one HT!

It's all good bro!!!
For the past few months I have been using my adapter and that glass dome I brought over to show you with a whip.

I seem to go off my WT's for some reason and stick to the whip and then in a few months I will be back to WT's... lMAO!!

Just had some mystery bag herb and I think I hit the jackpot and had a nice bowl of GSC!!!

have you looked into the recycle-tube? That looks cool and apparently is awesome!

EDIT:
@biohacker just hit some wonderful Kali Mist in Herbie at 229 using that small bubbler and a wide diameter silicone whip for connection. Awesome flavor and great medicated effect!

Looking at the Evo thread- if herbie came out with a mini vapexnail style that can fit in the herbie bowl and be used with the whip

Would that yield better hits from concentrates vs the pad?

I usually dab with my herbie and i usually put down a dab everytime and vape until i am satisfied.. I am out and yet i am still hitting my pad- after few days- its finally nearly gone!!! Pretty awesome

I'd like to hear more about HT options, as others have mentioned. Ratchett will be making a 18 mm male jointed HT adapter piece. Does anyone offer a cheap 18 mm female jointed HT? Does anyone make a HT that's not just a straight tube but more like a bubbler, with a mouthpiece off to the side.
Please, let's hear more on HT options--------inquiring minds want to know ;)

edit..........? Racthett adapter will be 18 MM male so--- 18 mm Femail to 14 mm male. HTs I have seen had 14 mm F fitting. anybody do HT with 18 mm??

Also intrigued by what you mentioned concerning grind bio,the grinder I have now is well over 5 years old and I get a medium grind from it. Your saying a finer grind may yield me, dare I say, even better results ?! Guess I need to add a grinder to the list..funny the only thing this list does is get bigger
EDIT-oh just got a fresh pickup for this fine Sunday. Who's vaping with me

The difference is incredible.... i won't go back to anything but a fine grind.

I paid $300 for my recycle tube, including shipping. It was well worth it IMHO.

When folks are talking fine grind, is it to the level of MF finishing grinder fine or just along the lines of really running it through the grinder? What grinder are folks using?

Doughboy recycle tube ?
I know little about recyclers and my experience was in looking for bubblers.
I was under the "impression' that a recycler piece (bubbler or HT) would have
more diffusion of vapor = less taste.
Is that a correct impression?

Everyone vapes for different reason/ results but I want maximum flavor. Does a HT recycler
take away from full flavor? Shortest vapor path = fullest flavor?
I'd like to find inexpensive HT with minimal diffusion, would add a little moisture to the vapor,
one with 18 mm female joint, and with a mouthpiece of to the side like a bubbler.

Really running it through the grinder....fine...but doesn't need to be powder. I've had to resort back to my coffee grinder, otherwise I will get brutal carpal tunnel syndrome! I need to find a crank style grinder that shreds fine enough for the Herbie. I love my Herbie!

Inexpensive is subjective. Here's a link to my thoughts on the Doughboy recycler and flavor/diffusion and some comparison to other tubes I have used. Since Doughboy does custom pieces, a sidecar could be done, but I'm not sure if that would mess up the vortex. VapeXhale has a few sidecar options. That's all I am aware of.

Edit: whoops here's the link.

@MinnBobber take a look at the little wood stem adapter that I have from @Eds_TnT

It is a sweet little adaptor because it inserts right into the whip tubing and can be hooked up directly to any water tool that is the appropriate mm. Mine is a 14mm because that is what my F-bomb is. However, Ed could make up an 18mm model lickety split I'm sure.

The cool thing about this adaptor is that it doesn't have to rest directly on the unit. I think that makes it very convenient to set up for a portable tool like the F-bomb as well as any stand-up water tool. Truth be told I can't believe people haven't been flocking to get one. It's so convenient, and it has a much better draw, taste, and mouth-feel than the steel mouthpiece that comes with the Herbie.

Hydra tube shopping for Herbie-so today I go to the local headshop which must have at least 500 bubblers, bongs, etc on display and zip for any sort of hydra tube. The lady says I'll mention to the manager who might look into them.
-I also might need an adapter, 18 female to 14 male and they have every possible combo except that. The sales lady says, ya we get about 10 of those in at a time and then they go. ??? Are most/all HTs a 14 mm female??
-Item 3 was wanting to see a Firefly. They had a stack of FF replacement covers but no FF.
0/3 today

You probably aren't going to find any HT's in head shops. They were invented and are patented by VapeXHale. They are all 18mm except the mini ones that originally came out for the Pinnacle, which were 14mm.

If you already have some glass, you can use that. All the HT does is get rid of the tubing in the air path. You can ram your stock tubing and mouthpiece into a 14mm joint and hold it in place. I just got an Extreme elbow adapter which fits nicely into the stock tubing and mates with any 18mm piece. I suggest you go find some cheap glass you like and use that at first. The HT setup is cool, but Herbie can feel awkward under the HT. But when you use the tubing to mate with glass you have a lot of leeway in how much you can move around. I actually like it hooked up to a small $20 dollar bubbler that is easy to hold with one hand and pass around.

Thanks.
I have a really nice small bubbler I use with my miniVAP. Inverted, the miniVAP connects directly to the bubbler. The HT just seemed like a nice/similar/ direct water setup for Herbie.
So, there are no el- cheapo Chinese generic HTs?? HT type design but with stem like a bubbler??
What other options are there for no tubing--- J Hook direct, J Hook with tiny length of tubing to bubbler, any other creative setups?

Just had one of my best cloud sessions on my Herbie. So I stepped up to SSV tubing for my whip, did a bit finer on the grind than usual, and got much bigger clouds than before. Thanks for all the tips.

Ok, I'm back, and I need some help, I think.

The Herbie has certainly attained a niche with me, like when I'm in a hurry and want a quick smaller bowl to fill and hit. It heats up so quick that that has become it's main purpose.

But I gotta say, I just enjoy smoking dry herb in the volcano more, the bags are bigger, the fan works better and fills it up quicker, and I just feel it works better (I got used to the whip, but I'm embarassed to even use the unit in front of someone else given how luke warm the whole thing seems to hit, or how rickety the whip even fits on the bowl (if I move at all the thing pops out).

Anyway, I wanted to revisit this thread hopefully to get some tips (or hopefully people have started making better accessories/bowls/whips to augment). I definitely know I'm not the only one displeased with the stock whip or bowl, but I know so little about other stuff that all this custom done glass on glass stuff went way over my head, so I figured to wait until something more official was made?

Also, last time I was on here, I suddenly found myself talking about hydratubes and SSV's, opening up a whole other can of worms (as it seemed like people were finding ways to run their glass HT's via this herbie?).

Anyway, as I said I got overhwelmed, so if someone could keep it simple and catch me up on any of that, that would really help :p .
