Well guys I'm on the fence about this vape right now.. I was planning on buying the pro today but I'm just not 100% sure. Coming from the air, minivap,Herbie and enano would this be something I would like ? I watched a review on the pro by vape life will ,I believe that was his name. Usually not big on vape reviewers(I'm sure many of you know why ) ,his video intrigued me with the insanely large clouds. At the end he took out the stem and the herb was still a light light shade of green.
I'm sold on the cloud production.
Is it finicky to use with glass ?im mainly thinking about dabbing with it in that aspect. Those low temp dabs look very nice. Hopefully they taste better then a ti. That might be what the surface you dab on is though ,
Anyways I'm gonna go ahead and pull the trigger and see what happens.
Any accessory recommendations ?
Thanks all, hopefully I'll be belting out hammer time in a joyous voice soon

@Mrmrmrmr I know what you mean about "reviewers" But he got it right with the Hammer. I find that with the gong 'locked' onto the hammer using it with glass is soooo simple and easy that I use my glass more often lately, Dry hits are great too. Amazing taste, conservative all along with big clouds so I think you'll like it. (The heat exchanger is ss not ti) I've only done dabs a couple of times with it but to me it tasted pure and sweet but I'm pretty much a newb when it comes to these new full melt concentrates.

Other then gongs, stems, butane and a bubbler there's not much more you need with the hammer in way of accessories and the gongs and bubbler are purely optional.

Enjoy !!!

Why do they have brass screens and not ss?? Does anyone know the size of the screen?is it the same as maybe the solo ?

I've had a nano since July 14 and ive had my hammer since April 2014. Now that the nano is not shiny and new I've gone back to the hammer being my daily driver. I just love it so much. I can take it anywhere in the house and out without issue. It uses less herb then the nano without having to adjust the screen. it seems to hit me harder from less. It's Just a more intense high for me but I love my nano and use it when I'm feeling too lazy to use my hammer or in the middle of the night. The hammer is like a portable log. It picks up where the nano leaves off. I love to dab with my hammer as a nail it's just so versitile. I can put it on my j hook or bong with either the gong or stem with silicon. It's so easy. Plus it's so inexpensive. Also never had issues with butane taste and smell is fine. This is my favorite vape.

Edit: all the screens I've gotten from hammer are stainless. Not brass.

Glass Blower
I lent mine to a friend, trying to convert him to vaping so lets see........

I do like my hammer but it gets the least use out of my vapes. When I lend a vape I always lend the hammer as it's easy to use and HITS HARD. Two very important aspects for combusters.

And ime/o i didn't like dabbing with the hammer. My reasons being I had bits of oil left in the heater which then smelt a bit of on the next dab, it was hard to apply oil properly, temps were pretty difficult to guess and having to use both hands is a obvious pain in the arse. It did work however and that it a plus, and when I got a nice low temp dab it did taste nice.

Without wanting to sound like a dick as well the hammer 'pro' really didn't sit right with me, it's basically the same as the original. I'm sure there would have been a better way of packaging the marketing campaign.

Big respect in general though as the product is good and does what it says on the tin.

When I used reclaim it clogged the Heat port or whatever but hasn't happened with the shatter I've been using. When junk clogs the port I just pull the hammer apart and put only the port/ heat exchange? In a bowl of iso. The hammer comes apart easily but I think it got clogged because it wasn't hot enough. When I got the shatter, I tuned my hammer to get hotter. I can visibly see red/orange glowing in the port. Before the dial set to 100% would be perfect for flowers, now a little past 50% for flowers and 100% for oil.

Edit just did 3 or 4 dabs of reclaim. My hammer started to get junked up again. I just got the hammer really hot and hit it through the bong empty. Now it's clear. Love using the hammer as a nail thanks @paytonpenn !!
I only wish the flat part in the heat port was bigger for cleaning purposes. I'm using the og hammer not the pro.

Clogging occurs with either low quality oil, or too much oil at once and not enough heat to take an actual dab. I've only had my Hammer clogged once and that was with physical herb from conduction testing, I just shaved a toothpick thin enough to fit in the crevice and poked the herb out.

I try not to disassemble my heat exchanger anymore, now I just take off the exterior and dunk the head of the Hammer in ISO. I also make sure the ISO's liquid level isn't higher than where the actually exchanger is.

I could be wrong but since we aren't combusting (thus not reaching the high temps of combustion) the brass screens aren't an issue, IMO anyways.

My pro came with brass screens already in the lock on stems, didn't come with spares. Also didn't come with any spare lock on silicone rings, was kinda bummed about that but I have silicone tubing that fits perfectly(just cut a small piece of it, instant lock on ring)

Even if you did happen to combust, the temps still wouldn't be as high as using a lighter to burn a bowl, thus still not an issue IMO.(It's the tip of the flame of a lighter that burns holes through inferior screens, not the combustion of plant matter itself)

If it's still an issue to you, good screens are only a couple bucks for a pack. If they are too big just cut them down to size.

@wax I know my GonG came with SS screens (they just plop into place), but the lock on stems came with brass. I believe this is because brass can be formed and shaped easier than ss.

I notice when trying to put SS screens in some of the newer stems that don't have a ring for screen placement (like the old style) they just move around and don't want to fit without me actually making them fit (two dowels).

Order placed !!
Added a gong, shipping 1-2 was super cheap so Obviously that was the only option
Now about butane... Got a can of benzomatic butane that came with the torch I bought from lowes. Is this acceptable for the hammer? I don't know much about butane ,I'm hoping someone here could suggest something

The Hammer isn't picky on butane from my experience it all works, I recommend plastic tipped nozzles as they are less likely to spurt when filling.

Ronson/Benzomatic I would rate as adequate, all butane should work as long as it fills but understand that getting better filtered/brands will result in a better experience.

That isn't to say your experience will be poor with the average butane options, since its not as refined it may not deliver as great of a flame.

I use xikar since I found it at a local cigar shop it a cost me about $10 for 8oz can and that will last me a really long time probably closer to a year if just used to fill thw hammer. I also fill a torch lighter. I had a can from mid April that was 2/3rd empty when i gave to a friend last month to use with the hammer he bought off me, hes still using that can.

There isn't a best just a lot of good ones newport, whipit, vector, power, dodo anything that has been filtered and refined a couple times.
Vector is my go to, I eventually started having too many issues with Newport when I was trying to fill and decided to stop trying the brand. Vector has been tried and true for me since 2010. Still the cheaper brand at my LHS. Somehow Power, Newport, and Ronson are more expensive. Ronson doesn't even give much for the price.

@wax, I used the same "drugstore" Ronson you picture for a couple of months with no problems at all (seemed it might have run a little cooler but not really sure now if that was really true or not) it wasn't great with my torch lighters though. Now I'm running Iolite butane 'cause I picked up a case pretty cheap and the hammer and my torches are all running smooth and hot.

Just got my Hammer. Is it normal for it to filled some with butane out of the box?cause mine is. I'm confused about the blue light. I heated it up for at least 20 seconds and never saw it
Does the ignitor not stay down,do you have to hold it the entire time. Mine won't stay down
Sorry for all the questions I just don't wamt to blow myself up lol

It's normal. The blue light is just the color of the flame the torch makes when it is on, that just tells you that you've successfully ignited it and you can don't have to click again. You'll also hear a fairly audible hiss, when the hiss lessens you'll notice it could be time for a butane refill, while it will still run alright you'll notice a difference in performance quickly when its low on butane.

EDIT: You do have to hold it down yourself, since I have a flame lock some videos could appear a bit misleading as its not a Hammer standard. It you wan't to build one they aren't to difficult you could use a paperclip and make hoop that keeps the trigger pressed.

Here is an example of mine,

Man I love the hammer already. Got it today and 10minites in I'm already getting the hang of it. One problem so far.. After about2 stems and one dab I can't get the hammer to work anymore. I click the igniter on for 30sec and begin my inhale at 10-15 seconds. I've tried it 5 times now and nothing. It hisses like normal but no heat. I filled it with some benzomatic so I know it has butane. When it worked I was amazed at how much vapor I got out of so little.

Maybe the hammer needs to be purged. Push the little nipple in on the bottom where you fill it up. Do it till it stops hissing, Then put the hammer to the lowest temp and refill.
