I'm bored so I'm just going to say the colored Ti GH's in this picture look like crayola crayons...that's all.

I'd call that very minimal conduction since only the very end turned color. From the looks of it, there is virtually no conduction along the sides of the chamber. Looking at the light brown color on the end, the conduction is probably only occurring through the air gap between the heating element and the herb. Air is generally a poor conductor which is why there is so little brown color. I'd think pretty much any vape would do the same thing under similar conditions (like with a Volcano that's fully loaded without the fan on).

To me this is an impressive result that indicates good design...I can't see how a vape of this size could do better. I would conclude that for all intents and purposes, when used as recommended, the GH is a pure (99%) convection vape.

All depends on where they are in the process. Did they start filing the paperwork several months ago, or are they just getting started?

@BuzzDanklin i know this is Fuck Combustion, but do you have rolling papers? Could you make a little joint that would fit in the grasshopper chamber, and vape it to see if the rolling paper would allow the spiraling heat through or would it block the flow of air, thus prevent vaping?
I'm trying to come up with a quicker, simpler way to load the grasshopper and hope something like this would work.

What about a paper cartridge concept - [URL]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_cartridge[/URL]

Back in the days of muskets, soldiers would tear open a paper cartridge which contained a predetermined quantity of gun powder.

You could use rolling papers (or some other paper) to hold pre-measured quantities of herb. Simply pre pack, and when you're ready to use, tear off the top and dump into the vape.

Personally I'm working on a metal 3D printed keychain accessory with 5 or 6 containers which would hold just enough herb in each for 1 load in the Grasshopper.

i have thought about this and it probably would work fine, but i figure, why bother with the tearing and the possibility of spilling herb, if it's possible to put the entire "cartridge" in the chamber. I'm just curious if it'd work.

I am currently building a time machine so i can go back in time to get in on the $99 grasshopper indiegogo campaign. If any one would like to donate to help my cause i will be holding a indiegogo campaign for the funding of the time machine shortly. In all honesty i wish i would have got in on the campaign when it started but i did not want to take the chance as i have never done something like that before. Once i see a few in peoples hands though i will pre-order. I am moving soon also so i will have a new address, if i was to pre-order can i change my address without losing my place in line ?

Is this machine a one way trip, or can it bring you back?

Also, what color will it be?

Stainless Steel.... and then Green Ti bc im bad at settling for not the "better" unit and waiting doesnt help

I just got back from the future and saw the next two GH updates:

June 1:
"Hi Everyone. Things were getting into high gear and we were just about to start shipping the bulk of SS grasshoppers, but unfortunately, many of you have upgraded your orders to colored Ti units. We didn't expect the demand to shift so suddenly and are left without enough of the color parts to fulfill all orders right away. Rest assured, we've adjusted our Ti parts orders and expect to hear back from our suppliers soon. The additional delay should be minimal. Stay tuned...."

two weeks later,

"Hi everyone. Great news, our Ti supplier has located enough raw material to cover all of the upgraded orders. The only small glitch is that the colorization process is short on the material needed for the green grasshoppers which were the most in demand. We've been assured that capacity will increase in just a short amount of time, but we'll be sending emails to everyone who ordered green to see if they'd like to switch to another color. Stay tuned!"

You addressed delay bc of upgrades to TI units but mentions nothing about why the SS ones didnt get sent. (very possible it was intentional as GH could do such a thing O.o but doubtful)

and you assume green is most in demand when I have seen just as many people swapping their green for something else...

my 2 qualms
