Basically like the crafty loading tool, maybe make it smaller and smell proof and u have a winner
Pre-ground. Wouldn't it be cool if it were possible to purchase pre-ground and packed herbs, in the same way that you can buy Nespresso and K-cups now?
I'm thinking little grasshopper sized and shaped doses of herb in a blister pack, in such a way that you could just break the seal and pop it right into the oven.
Could probably have it in a mesh capsule (some plant fiber), so it would stay together for easier insertion and removal. Reduce the need for cleaning, I'd imagine.
Now that MJ is being legalized in several states, it seems to me that there is a market for innovative delivery systems like that. A pod system for herb...bet it'll happen.
Yeah, I was thinking about something like that, but much smaller, and much stronger to fit on your keychain and not get in the way (Portability is key!)
I was actually going to try to design something like this even though I only have some basic knowledge of CAD and don't have a $9000 3D printer lol

Ya know, I'm thinking about traveling with pre-ground herbs. Think about it - consumes less space. Can carry more in a smaller container. And it's easier/faster to re-fill (no pre-grinding before filling).
Me and my buddy actually came up with an idea for a container that could be 3D printed, but we stalled on trying to actually create it lol. I'm sure you could do it pretty simply actually though:
Basic idea came from a film canister, which I use for grounds and one for avb when im out and about or at a friends (though I've been using a Thermovape container lately for herbs, its smaller, but film canister is great for longer trips).
Anyway, the idea is to have a printed container that size, but be a little longer (probably a little narrower too, and for use with the grasshopper probably much narrower actually, but other vapes like FF/ESV/Indica benefit from having a wider mouth, so multiple sizes perhaps?!). Then you have a panel in the tube making two separate compartments (like if my two film canisters were stacked bottom to bottom) with a lid on each top.
One compartment for greens, and one for browns. The avb one should be a little shallower than the fresh herb side, since you'll want to pack more green and avb is less dense obv. For the lids, probably screw caps were thinking would be the most secure though instead of pop caps.
So what do you think? We had presumed it had to be plastic, but it'd be fucking gorgeous in ss or some other metal...
just an idea... what about a cylinder split like that other guys said, one side abv the other fresh... but on the fresh side theres a screw on cap which opens up the container but also has threads for another cap with a smaller diameter to use for pouring into a bowl/vape.I kinda get what you're saying...., but what do you think about this configuration - Would something like this work?
Obviously I need to add threads and a cap, but my thought is you could use your finger to cover one side when using the other....
I could design the cap to use a standard size O-Ring which the user could install if desired to get a water tight/airtight seal. Even add a loop for a keychain.
I could probably offer it 3D printed from shapeways (for durability), in plastic for under $15, and in 3D printed Stainless Steel for under $25 - bit on the pricey side, but you could get the steel gold plated for some extra bling if desired (or a bronze finish for the same price as SS)
To avoid going OT too much, shoot me a PM if you want to discuss a bit further
I got a bunch of 1 dram vials (in amber glass from these folks) a few years ago, after reading @OF 's recommendation of them as an accessory for the MFLB. They're nice for carrying around a few pre-measured doses (say, .1-.2 gram shots).Ya know, I'm thinking about traveling with pre-ground herbs. Think about it - consumes less space. Works well if you're interested in consistency and quickness in the field, and they look nice too imo. Just need a proper size scoop and funnel for filling them and you're good to go.
anyone have any thoughts of how to make a grinder stealthy?
Well, you could have a little airtight canister with several "pods" filled with pre-ground herb, like the kind they do for coffee in Europe (see below.)Blister pack? Isn't there enough plastic litter everywhere? I like the concept but would much prefer something like the packets used for sugar. Perfect size to hold a GH bowl-full, rip off the end and pour. They seem to keep sugar fresh despite being paper-based.
Exactly! I still drink loose leaf tea and grind my own coffee. But I use the pods and tea bags, too. I used to have an Espresso maker that could take both pods and loose ground.Teabags have always been made out of hemp fibers, they're pretty cheap in scale
I don't think you'd need to seal them per-se: maybe folded would be enough. But how would you seal the pods? I'm sure we can get the hemp fabric from hemptraders.com
Just imagine making your own "bullets" for the GH - that would make loading and unloading OTG a breeze
yeah, I want it tomorrow!I like the resin glue idea, I could make a simple manual press of sorts, but that might condense the herb too much and prevent proper vaporization.
But again, we need the vape first before we can start tinkering!

I think tea bags are sewn. How bout machine-sewn hemp fiber?
