Might it be possible that pilot and beta tests in some manner took place behind the scenes as revised parts and beta inputs contributed to the production and engineering continuum?
Could be, but seems highly unlikely to me. Normally you'd spread the Pilot Run units far and wide in such cases for a number of reasons. "The suits" (Sales) insist on it in my experience. And you want a 'best chance' at finding hidden flaws.
And we've been (unusually) updated twice a month without such mention? And how did the clip issue (minor as it might be) crop up in a production buy? Not to mention minor dimensional mistakes (like the cover threads). Then again, we had a serious design change (reversal of the bowl) that wasn't disclosed......
Normally you try to find and eliminate such problems before you order piles of parts to scrap. The idea is you don't go into production before you have proven, stand alone documentation on how to make them. As complete as possible. The Pilot Run tests that package......or should if Engineering doesn't cheat.
I just see no evidence of the traditional Release process. IMO if it was happening, like say it did with TV and Delta 9 (now UP Tech), they'd be spreading the success story of the Beta testing and Pilot Run to anyone who'd listen? Beats showing photos of empty boxes and piles of parts........
All just fun conjecture, IMO. What we say here matters not, it's what they can deliver, when, and at what cost.
Thanks.
