So after 8 emails back and forth they still refuse to ship my hoppers even though I confirmed my address on August 23 so over a month later after they sent me

I have been fighting with them an entire month just to get my product that they said that they could ship. Seince then It has been one lie after another. Excuses and promises like I can ship your stainless units then they turned around and told me that they couldn't ship my stainless. I'm really thinking about canceling my order even though I waited a year...... I'm extremely fed up with the company and really kinda am thinking about backing out.

Anyone got reasons I shouldn't just get my money back Im To the point I don't even want to give these guys my money and I hope they fail as a company.

Sorry about the BS...but mine was worth the 14 month wait...you are so close!

Milky, I think you would regret cancelling after such a long wait. The bs is frustrating.
I think the updates to the chargers may be the cause of the new delays.

Well if you look at this thread and the Reddit thread, you'll see basically no grasshoppers have been shipped in like a month - they aren't withholding your order out of some sort of ill-will or spite if that's what you're thinking. It's a well known fact that they were waiting on some stuff to ship from China (including new, possibly better, batteries).

Bulk shipments of parts from China are a bitch - they come by cargo ship, not Air freight (unless you're willing to spend 10x more on shipping!) - they take weeks to arrive. It's the cost of doing business on a large scale. Even worse, once it does arrive at the port, it can take weeks to unload if there's anything wrong with the paperwork.

Depends on your financial situation - how bad is that missing money burning a hole in your pocket? How would you feel if everyone who preordered in 2015 got their grasshopper before Halloween and you cancelled after waiting this long?

I'm also pretty sure the price has increased in the past year since your preorder, so if you change your mind and wanted a hopper in the future, you'd be paying more (after already losing a bit of interest on that refunded money they held for a year)

Is it wrong for them to provide inaccurate shipping estimates? Yes absolutely - if it were my business I would have provided much more transparency into the problems the company faced.

But they aren't Apple or Microsoft - they're a couple guys who started a vape business out of their Garage. It's not as easy as it may seem to mass produce something as complicated as the Grasshopper. I'm honestly impressed they have even made it this far - I never thought we'd see a finished product in our hands. Just my :2c:

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to use a friend's Grasshopper 6 months after preordering mine. Once I knew what it was capable of producing, I knew I wanted my own and was willing to wait (especially after the price increases!). Now that I have mine I have absolutely no regrets.

In fact I'm waiting for them to catch up on orders and then I'm planning to order a spare hopper (unless something equally stealthy comes along which catches my eye, which may happen :lol: )

If I wanted a Grasshopper bad enough I would buy from Vapefiend . @Ratchett said if there are any problems with it, you can send it back to GHL for warranty.

Cancel your order and buy from them. Is it that much more expensive? I personally don't like waiting for anything.

I wouldn't order from GHL and know that even now I would need to wait a year for my unit, I would guess.

I have mixed feeling about it I really wanted to like the hopper, I really wanted to try it but I guess I will not get that chance. nor will friends that were also excited about the experience.

I think your better off this way. That hopper would have had to be perfect for it to cleanse the tarnish. As I wait for my turn at trying one, feb 16 order, im tempted at backing out....but I have other vapes and won't be relying on it so I guess I'm going to stay in the game. Lifetime warranty is the main thing. its a gamble no matter how you look at it.

Pretty much, they refused to talk about any points i made, when i caught them in multiple lies they just changed the subject and kept using the term "best estimate" which we all know is a complete fabrication and they were treating my emails and correspondence the exact same way they did the shipping dates. they told me "it will ship next week" for a month and a 1/2 after i received address confirmation. Then they finally admitted they didn't even have the parts and were waiting on a shipment from china. I admit i got hot headed with them, but i mean who wouldn't? why send shipping confirmation then brag about it in your newsletter? that rubs it in your face more.

So while i really wanted to try the hopper its probably for the best i have very real issues with how they handle and conduct business. I would probably have only had more issues down the line, had to deal with sending the unit back all the time even if its lifetime warranty.

I do think its humorous that the whole reason i discovered FC was because i was doing research on the grasshopper. In the mean time i have learned a lot and enjoyed the forum quite a bit. Found plenty other amazing options, threads, and company from open, honest, down to earth manufactures, enthusiasts, and folks that just like to tinker and build.

It might not be too long. They're posting out about 2000 a month and there'd probably be double that of units ordered between what they're up to and your order. If it were me, I'd probably buy one retail and get a refund (or end up keeping the pre-order as an eventual spare). There's not much point waiting if you can buy one and have it shipped within a day, for similar coin.

Hi, Molten... I haven't dropped by this Shipping Roll thread since having received my Ti's from GH in July (13 months total wait). So it seems they are still almost a year for turning around an order.

About 8 months ago, I think they were somewhere north of 1000 per month. So if they are now at about 2000 per month, then they are having "good problems", ifyouknowwhatImean. They're growing quite fast. I only hope that their return-rate and warranty costs are under control (and I'd LOVE to know those numbers).

I'd love to know how their market is assessed.

The past few days I've seen a huge uptick in Hopper accessory sales - I have a feeling a lot of people have acquired or about to acquire a new Grasshopper. :party: :cheers:

If they're shipping out the remaining 2015 preorders right now, and you're a January 2016 preorder..... I'd start getting a little excited to see some sort of address confirmation. Possibly even before the holiday season? Possibly :razz:

All I can say to those who are waiting and waiting.... it's worth the wait. In spite of potential failures, their warranty process is generally satisfactory. And, back in "my day", there were no distributors on board as there are now.

So hang in there. This little fucker is sweet.

To clarify they did not send you a shipping confirmation, they sent you an address confirmation. I'm not sure why you thought emailing them every few days would speed up the process but anyways too bad you won't get to experience it. Just got mine back & I forgot just how good it is.

From what I gather Hopper Labs has just released the new V2.0 charger for the Grasshopper (insignificant to people like me who have never used the included charger since buying a Nitecore D2).

HL had basically stopped shipping all hoppers for the past few weeks until they got inventory (according to my sales history - the last bulk shipment was in June/July 2016). Once the v2.0 charger design was finalized, they had to wait a while for mass production and shipping.

In their downtime they were working on building and assembling a proverbial shit-ton of hoppers getting them ready to go.

Now that the components have arrived they are busy packing and shipping orders as fast as possible.

The sales data on my data shows they've been shipping hoppers for the past week or so. I don't think all 2015 preorders have shipped yet, but i wouldn't be surprised if all 2015 orders have a hopper before Halloween.

I sometimes have a different perspective on Hopper Labs because I have worked for multiple small businesses in my lifetime - I've been there at every part of a product lifecycle from their inception to maturity. I've seen many engineers over-promise and under-estimate their products. This is nothing new.

What impressed me about the grasshopper is that it actually does damn near everything it promised (in my opinion). Except for battery life - way lower than promised. But otherwise we never even discussed mouthpiece temperatures until the vape came out, so there was no expectations there.

Two short vacations in two weeks away from home. The hopper pulled double duty as my stealth portable and hotel-room vape both times. Four batteries were more than plenty to keep me charged the whole trip! :smug:

Then they pushed it to May. Then they pushed to June. Then July. Then August. Then September. We're now in October, and my account on their site still shows my order with a September 2016 shipping date.

I think this is beyond ridiculous... but apparently, some here have waited more than a year?!?

At this point, I wish I'd have ordered a different product, but at the same time, I've waited this long, might as well keep waiting?

Has anybody else here recently received their Grasshopper after pre-ordering, and if so, when did you originally place your order? I'm just curious if I'm looking at more than a year of excuses and apologies from Grasshopper Labs.... (why can't these guys just hire more assembly workers?!)

@Purple Lava Lamp , this thread is dedicated to your question. Read the last few pages to get a sense of what current delays are like.

I've been trying to figure out why these delays are still going on. I came up with two theories.

1. That the number of orders has increased greatly in the last few months, offsetting any process improvements they've implemented, and keeping orders delayed.

2. That to keep the business going, they have to use a "float", that is the people that pay today and wait, are buying parts for orders placed long before and just now being fulfilled. Under this theory, they can't ship current orders until future orders are placed.

Or it could be like Ratchett said, and it's just supply line issues. I just hope it's not #2, because that isn't a sustainable model.

Yes, all speculative, in keeping with the spirit of this thread. :)

It's been a bumpy road for a newly develop(ed)(ing?) product. The story is more like three years old in total. From Indie-gogo campaign to a long and winding pre-order road and yes there are thousands out in the wild now, but orders still taking almost a year. Lots of the delays are from design changes that simply halted the process until implemented. Other delays have been inexplicable....
Very much a seat-of-the-pants operation. It's actually pretty cool, but for just a wee bit of a runaround kinda feeling to it.

Mine (eventually 4 ordered) took a year, got it in August. It's great. It has broken, they have fixed it. It's great. I really like the thing. Broke again, they fixed it. Worth the wait, but also figure on more bumps going forward as an owner. Did I mention it is a great vape?

If you buy a hopper from GHL today my best guess it will probably be a year before you receive your unit. IMO they need to stop taking orders until they get caught up. I guess if folks don't care that GHL has their money tied up for so long that's their choice.

It sounds like a wonderful vaporizer if you get one that isnt faulty. I would be so disappointed to wait so long and then have to send it back for repairs - sometimes more than once.

Others here have it right. I waited about a year for mine too. And sooooo worth the wait. We keep waiting/hoping to see the order to delivery timeline shorten. I expect it will, but there hasn't been giant improvement on that front recently. Any day now...???

If you can't wait, you can always pay a modest premium and buy from one of the retailers that got some inventory.

Regarding reliability, we're basically the beta testers and some (we don't know the percentage) have had issues. Enough so, that fc created a gh resources page with various fixes we've discovered. Having said that, my gh did crap out. But it was a quick and painless warranty claim. I had a replacement part in about 5 days. Remember the lifetime warranty...

So come join the gh family!

Yes, one of mine has gone faulty 2X since August. The 3 others (2 given out as gifts) have each failed only once!
When you file a claim, they ask about the pattern of lights and based on that, maybe more questions to help diagnose, then they'll either send a new body or back end (and you return the bad one. the only other piece to a hopper is the mouthpiece) or they'll ask for you to send the whole hopper, charger and a battery back for analysis. Turnaround was pretty quick (few days + mailing) on the claims I've made.

So, from 30,000 feet a lot of it looks absurb, we are aware of that.

I think I mentioned the thing works great? and also that it has been, in all regards, a bumpy road. A lot of us are really hoping for the success of this product/company and are willing to, in a sense, support the project. I'm also feeling pretty good at this point about the price I paid way back then compared to what folks are paying now, even from HL, not to mention the retailers getting $250+ for them.

If nothing else, you will very likely be able to sell your hopper for a small profit when you do get it, just don't register it unless you want to keep it for your own.

Pure convection, stealthy, highly efficient, 5 second heat up time, lifetime warranty just to mention some of the +'s. There are certainly -'s, just read on.....

Oh crap... I placed my order 5 months after you... looks like I'll be joining the year+ waiting club... :(

I understand that this is a new product, and that they are working out kinks, etc. I could understand delays of a few weeks, or even a few months, but over a year?! C'mon...

I'd be willing to cut them some slack if they were to make an announcement along the lines of "We have decided to temporarily stop accepting new orders until we make a dent in the massive backlog of orders we are trying to fulfill." But no, they are still accepting orders right now, and telling people they will be delivered in November 2016, when they KNOW they will not even come anywhere close to fulfilling that promise. That's blatant dishonesty, in my book.

There were so many events and trips this year where I wanted to have a good, stealthy vape on me. I guess I could get one of those Pax thingies.... ugh... so frustrated :mad:
