Might be longer. There are more than 3,000 backers and preorders in line before you, and depending on how fast production ramps up it could be a while before they get to recent orders. I wouldn't expect any sort of concrete date until the majority of backers have been fulfilled. Anything now is a guess at best.Just ordered mine and paid for it. So we are looking at around 2 months wait time, correct?
Logically, they should. Anytime the demand for something is greater than the supply, prices go up.When It officially is released are they planning on raising the price or does anyone know?
Trevor wrote me before I decided to preorder that the price will go up when it's officially released. He doesn't know by what amount, but the GH team would like to stick to the philosophy of being the most value added portable vaporizer on the market. (I love that)When It officially is released are they planning on raising the price or does anyone know?
It would be a perfect time for an established vape company to jump in and utilize GH's idea and possibly develop and launch a similar vape before GH can actually meet demand. If I was with a successful vape manufacturer I would do that and you can bet this has already caught the eyes of the Chinese knockoff artists.
Just to be clear, I don't support knock0ffs or even a company jumping in with a similar product but business-is-business and I can see it happening.
Yeah - I doubt anyone is going to design a totally new one in any short time frame. I think the greater likelyhood is that parts and design get ripped off and cloned somewhere in China (coming str8 out of the existing factory) and they wind up selling a bunch of clones before disappearing due to legal pressure.Easier said than done.
The GH heater is proprietary. You can't just grab some free designs online and make a similar heater. The only thing we know about the heater is that they coiled a 36mm long vapor path into a 5mm tall 3D printed part. I don't think it'd be very easy to even dissect the oven and fully understand their design - you'd need a copy of the 3D model to slice apart and see how it's built.
It would take years for another manufacturer to copy the "GH Idea".
If anything, we'll see Atmos make a lookalike "vaporizer" which really combusts the herbs in seconds
Knock offs are made pretty fast in China. All they have to do is call it something else with a slightly different spelling - The Grasshoper, Grashopper or Grasshoppor. Plenty of folks don't keep up with vaporizers like we do. Sometimes it's even hard to tell the difference and many times it's really obvious.Yeah - I doubt anyone is going to design a totally new one in any short time frame. True, but the heater is the key part that will be tough to replicate and that part is 3D printed in the US. I think that is why people are saying it will be tough to create a knockoff.Knock offs are made pretty fast in China. The most of the parts were made in China.
So hard to say without seeing the assembly process and how many they have working there. Could be as easy as piecing together a few legos or rocket surgery for all we know. But if they are first training people to assemble them, it would start out SUPER SLOW for the first 100 or so and then really ramp up fast.Right now it just seems to me that the claim of thousands per week is reaching really high if they can't even have gotten the holiday backers theirs within a weeks time, let alone 2 weeks from update to end of month. If by July 1 they aren't even doing 250 units a week, I find it hard to believe they are able to hit thousands let alone 1000 a week.
Not saying I doubt shipping, but with their track record I'm not holding my breath for them hitting this goal either..
Still taking pre orders though. Not shy about that.
I understand that but 100 to thousands is a huge learning curve...
Can I get a picture of the box in your hand so I can get a perspective? I really like that people are saying that it is little, because where I live usually the post office taxes are given to heavy objects, mostly...
It is also a bummer that you didn't received your ss case, you should email trevor about it
I kind of look at it this way... when you have driving directions to a place, you stop and look at each and every turn, read every sign and look in every directions to make sure you are doing it right. After you've been there, you just drive there without thinking. This is how I see assembly line production when it starts out. So maybe the first 10 for anyone will take a long time since they need to stop often, ask questions, forget steps and so on. After that, it's like a rubix cube master at work.I understand that but 100 to thousands is a huge learning curve...
Yup that is my photo it is tiny I was driving and could send petnature one through hangouts but not post here yet. I posted some thoughts and photos in the discussion thread but unless I wind up breaking the rules I will post the photos here but if you have questions check the discussion thread.
AlaricV sent me this picture, hope it helps.
