That is pretty excellent. It seems like ordering direct from Firefly may be the way to go, provided I don't get killed with some kind of weird tariff / tax here in frozen Canuckistan.

I don't know about their Canada policies, but in general, yes, purchase from FF. They have outstanding, stellar service. As good as I've received from any other company in any product category. FF failures don't even bother me for a second...I know the company will take care of me.

So further update from me

Vapeworld had me send my FF back to them. They are going to test it and see why it is draining batteries so fast and seem to be running at higher temperature that should be expected. They said if its a small fix it will be repaired, or if something bigger or unknown they will send me a new unit. So hoping to hear back soon as I already mailed it and it was received by them last Friday. Without my FF I have to resort to joints, which take SO MUCH MORE herb/time/money for the same effect as a few draws on the FF.

I have to say I cannot recall anyone getting a repaired FF back. Seems like they always replace them, which is not a bad thing, as a user. Good luck and let us know what happens.

I also notice if I leave a battery in the firefly even with the unit tuned off the battery will usually be drained after a day. I got a replacement battery on the way to see if it was just my batteries flunking out on me, but still should it really die after 1 bowls worth? If its 1 session I might be able to get two bowls through. If I sesh with 1 bowl and then pack another for later it will die on me.

Seconds after typing this update, received an email with a tracking number. New FF on its way to my house. Very happy with their customer service.

They asked for me to confirm my address and I specifically told them to ship it to my house and not my apartment but it was still shipped to my apartment. So I dont have the new battery to test for another two weeks now.

I ordered two extra batteries from them a couple of months ago, and both are dead, in fact they sent me two new ones today. I would try the battery first

I received a repaired unit back from Firefly. Not from Vapeworld, however - they sent me a new one.

I bought it from Vapeworld, but Firefly accepted it back on the first return. It still worked, but needed some repair. A piece of the ceramic ring had chipped off, seemed like it may have been that way when I got it. I got it back from the repair, good as new. Later it failed completely, and Firefly had me return it to Vapeworld (the said that they changed their policy on returns). Vapeworld replaced it.

So maybe it depends on the nature of the problem?

The replacement says "Rechargeable Li-polymer Battery Pack" above the specs.

The new batt also says "5.7 Wh," as opposed to the "5.55 Wh" on the others.

Above the UL symbol, the new one says, "43LJ," instead of "3JKH" on the others.

It also has an extra symbol, the " C E " one.

Also, the bar code numbers are smaller and bolder, and begin with "FM." All my other batts start with "FT."

Too early to tell if the battery is any different, but it's certainly working better than the one it replaced.

might just be a revision of the old battery, could have fixed some of the problems hopefully

Can you post a picture of the battery? All those numbers are important!

I can tell you what some of them mean. I was just thinking about getting a second battery, wondering if they had been updated.

This is exactly the same as the battery I received with my unit from Vapefiend (UK) about 2 weeks ago.

God i love this thing. But seriously, Only one thing that REALLY bothers me.

I have no fingernails. Im having a very, very hard time trying to open up the cover. Good riddance that confirms I have a real Firefly and not a cheap chinese fake, but damn..

Anyone has any ideas on how to make it easier for myself? lol.
What's even worse is that I have overly moist hands most of the time, it probably increases the difficulty even moar.

You are 100% correct. There is ZERO consumption of material in the FF when you aren't actively drawing. Even if you hold down the button, the FF will not cook your herb unless you are taking hits. The whole point of "on demand" heating is that you can hit whenever you want and not worry about either heat-up time or passive cooking of material.

But after hitting the firefly just now I thought of what I read on here before if turning the fire fly hits into cooler vaper via water tool attatchment. I need a guide if theres not one lets make one and have the all the online shopping links to buy all the items you need. Kinda like a science project and have picture at the end. I know some one a couple pages back said something about what size tube that fits on the mouth piece?

The firefly can get as hot as combusting a very tiny part of the herb/tobacco but this seems to happen mostly in the bottom of the oven, im talking very small pieces here. Probably because of some left over residue between the screen and the glass, not sure.

This effect can totally be avoided by simple practice, as the FF itself needs practice for good vapes, you will learn not to overdo it.

It does get hot. Parts of it get really hot. So hot, you'll regret sticking your finger in the bowl, as I mentioned. However, it doesn't get hot enough to create conductive heat. You don't need to see video, or believe me...try it yourself. Fill the bowl, and hold the heat button down, over and over again, until it shuts off, without taking a hit. Do this until the battery drains, or the FF becomes too hot to hold, or whatever...and then dump the bowl and look at the material. You'll see it hasn't browned or cooked at all. No conduction. (I'm confident in the result of your test because I've done this myself, as have others here.)

Yep, that's actually just charring and not real combustion and is common in convection vapes....repeated non-stirred hits cause bits to get heated over and over again and char. You can avoid this by stirring more often, but it's hard to completely eliminate with convection.

Regardless, it still isn't causing conductive ccooking which is what @kayaman was concerned about.

Idea: put a ribbon like thing in between the lid and body. That way you can pull the ribbon to open the lid.

Idea2: floss/string secured to the underside of the lid.

I was lucky enough to get a Firefly at Christmas. She bought a 2nd hand one from ebay so I was a little worried it wouldn't work. The box was a bit tattered but it didn't need cleaning & looked to me like it had never been used.
It works well & has the proper battery life, the only problems I've had is that it's combusted once or twice when the battery was fresh. Also the screen is so tight I'm hesitant to take it out.
I'm pretty happy, thought it was the kind of thing I'd use for about a week & get over the novelty of it but I still like it. Recently I've enjoyed some different techniques thanks to the people on this thread. Cheers.

This is my main problem with the FF. For me the hits are as harsh as the LB so I blame the short, dry vapor path. I realize that my sensitivity is not the norm, but it is an issue for me.
