Does the light stay green and the bowl stops heating? Or do you get a fast red light?
If the latter, toggle off and on again and see if that fixes it for a full cycle. If it's the former, you probably have a dead heating coil...it's happened twice to me. FF will replace the unit for you in that case. Good luck!
I've never had fast heat up times on my firefly. Holding the button for 5-10 seconds and then drawing results in nothing. Instead I hold it down for 8, off for 1 and then hold for 8 again. I repeat this 4 or 5 times until the firefly feels warm and then draw while holding the button down. This is the only way I will exhale a nice cloud.
Oh it works fine if I let it heat up. I also tested the extra battery I got which is a 770 and with it I can draw after 5 seconds. The 750 battery it came with is the one I have to let the firefly heat up more with.
See if you can exchange the 750 for a 770, problem solvedOh it works fine if I let it heat up. I also tested the extra battery I got which is a 770 and with it I can draw after 5 seconds. The 750 battery it came with is the one I have to let the firefly heat up more with.
I contacted them and was told batteries only have a 30 day warranty. However they will make an exception and send out a new battery right away. No hassle!

Now, is that because the last batch of 750s were so lame? Or is it because the 770s are just that good? I think it's because the 770s are just that good. I find them to be a major step forward, and a major response to those who think the FF's battery life isn't good enough.
Just ordered two more of the 770s last Friday - before the damn 420 sale .
Still wish they'd give us a taste of what they're trying for in the fabled FF 2.0 - I'm starting to think it's only a figment of @mitchgo61 's imagination. Hell, it was probably one of his daydreams he came up with during one of his 30-minute mind-numbing soul-crushing guitar solos... Guh.
Will it be as groundbreaking as the FF was / is? A true instant convection electric portable that, a year and a half later, has no real competition in the category other than a glorified beta unit or a unit (units) that still isn't ready to be shipped? Feel free to correct me here - I can take it. I'm a big boy.
I'm getting rather excited to find out, as the FF team's first effort still seems to be way, way, way ahead of the curve of the type of vape they set out to make - a sleek, sexy, no-waiting, full convection portable that is designed in such a way as to allow "bondage" between the user and device - i.e., the window and glow and ergonomics - no silicone sleeve required!
The FF is a labor of true love, make no mistake about it. For fuck's sake, with their FIRST EFFORT, they changed the portable game. Now we have how many others trying to be instant convection electric portables?
I am still just in awe of this fucking thing. At this point, I equate waiting for the FF 2.0 to being on Alan's Heat Island list - show some patience, and you just might receive a vaporizer that is truly unmatched. IMO, of course.
(Not a beta tester. Not a retailer. Not a guy running my own review site with links. I absolutely in no way profit whatsoever from this love letter, other than my own sense of self-satisfaction. Cause that's how I fucking roll. The best reviews come from the real folks.)
(Soul-crushing. I like that!)
Customer service was very nice, but new 770 battery arrived and after two hours of charging the light is red. Hope that does not mean what I think it does. For the price of this device I call total bs.I am having similar problem - Just got a Firefly direct from manufacturer - shipped with a 750 battery - thing barely produces any vap. Ok - with a fully charged battery and fresh bowl - maybe one descent hit.
I called - thanks to this forum - and they are sending a new 770 battery at no charge - will let you know if it improves the situation.
Kind of begs the question of why they are sending out new units with the 750 battery. If I had not hunted around for this forum and read about the battery issue, I would have returned it or just been pissed off that I spend so much $$. I would have to recommend the PAX 2 over firefly at this point, but will reserve judgement.
Will report back after battery arrives.

I get a flashing blue light but then it changes to solid red. This is in the charger. What is the exact behavior you are experiencing? Do you get a flashing blue light, and then a steady blue when it's fully charged? Or are you not getting it to charge at all?
If it looks like it's fully charged, but the device throws a red light right away, even with the new battery, then yes it's possible the FF itself is defective. I personally have suffered through a total of six defective units (three for each of the two I've purchased) so I know it can be frustrating...in fact your issue sounds like something that happened to me (brand new unit would shut down with a red light on a fully-charged battery after 20 seconds...turned out to be a circuit problem somewhere).
The good news is a big part of what you paid for is the warranty and the service...you have a five-year warranty and trust me, FF will work to keep you happy. I know this first-hand. Call them if you cannot get it to to work and they will replace it if that's what it comes to. Give them a chance, they will get you a working device, and you will never again even mention the Pax 2 in the same sentence as the Firefly. (And I own the P2 and like it, but, I mean, come on...there is no comparison...)
As for why people are still getting the old batteries in new shipments, I think FF contracts out to warehouses around the country and it appears some of them are burning through old stock. While FF is responsible (which is why they are sending folks new batteries at their expense) they aren't doing it intentionally.
Good luck, and give FF a chance to make you a happy customer...you will not regret it.
Anybody out there dealing with a "Hot" Firefly?
And no, I don't mean stolen!
Once I figured out the lid issue, I now draw on mine with full force and no preheat. I still get black AVB mixed with perfectly green herbs - flavor is decent but not as good as my other vapes (Crafty, Solo, Enano).
I just read about people with "cold" fireflys where its a struggle to get big hits, and I wonder if I'm just better off with the this one, or should I send it in?
I get a flashing blue light but then it changes to solid red. This is in the charger.
I have to try different scenarios to see what's going on with battery, battery charger, and unit.
It did produce vap but so who knows. Will do more research and call customer service.
Have to say that I like the idea of having both Pax2 and FF. In situations with newbies, pax2 is easy bc it tells you when you are ready.
