@studmuffin sorry about your FF :( , happy that yours is legit and that you are being taken care of though :)

Where is the serial number located? I too, purchased from that vendor and have no doubt its legit, but I can't for the life of me find the serial # lol

Great unit, other than battery issues. Great customer support. Mantianence is a breeze,
I use a micro fiber towel and iso. Heavy daily use for two months and have not yet changed the screen.
I combusted twice but I think it was a pine needle piece in the outdoor bud.
Um dont fly with that, pun intended, cost of problems would pay for dozens of new FFs.

HellsWindStaff, The serial number is located in the battery compartment. It is really tiny and hard to read without magnification, at least for my 63 year old eyes. As for the return process, once I put my defective unit into the UPS system, I provided Caroline with the tracking number, and my replacement unit was on it's way to my home that very day. Hooray ! !

I wouldn't worry at all for a domestic flight. Clean it as well as possible, and you shouldn't have any issues, as long as you don't plan to bring any meds with you

I have been shook down twice. Once domestic once international. checked all bagage
I roll clean. Have left niceness up to 1/2 oz for maid, taxi, etc.
Mail her.

Hello,

I have recently purchased the mighty and minivap. The taste and efficiency are great. I really like the firefly for the one hitter accessibility and taste. Can anyone tell me if the FF tastes better than these two I own? I have major VAS
I 'd say the Crafty/Mighty tastes better and good taste lasts for longer… And it has to do with temp control. With Crafty you get charred bits eventually. Not with Crafty/Mghty...

I just want to tout their service. I was worried that my unit might be a fake, called them up with the serial number, left a message, and they called me back 2 minutes later. Love that service!

I don't find myself using the Firefly very often. There are other portable vapes that offer better battery life and portability. Given my uses, those are 2 very important aspects of a portable vape. Unfortunately, this means I don't use this vape much. However, when I'm around the house and want a quick session, the Firefly is great.

So your saying with the Crafty you get charred bits but you don't with the Crafty mighty.

Wow, let's think this through. If there's a stream of hot air coming in from the bottom, it's inevitable that it will tunnel to some degree. It seems to me that there are ways to get a very even ABV.

One is a combination of convection/conduction. That's how I interpret the even ABV on my Solo. I'm not getting charred bits on my FireFly. If I fill the bowl, I try to get the bowl hot enough to give a combination convection/conduction effect. That means not drawing in cold air between button-pushes.

Or I can open it once halfway and stir the load with a pair o' tweezers.

But my favorite way is to not overfill the bowl and let the stuff fly around. Shake and tap it, and let the popcorn machine effect handle all the chores. As long as I leave a little oil on the lid channels as a trap, no powder ever makes it past the mouthpiece. Below is what I mean by "leaving a little oil". As you can see, there's no gunk or particulate in the cooling channels.

But then, I can't see the point of roasting the herb anyway. I want to vaporize the oils, not approximate combustion. YMMV, but I don't find anything worthwhile in that last fraction.

Apparently that's not the case with every vape that hot air comes from the bottom or the top for that matter… It has to do with the airflow in the oven more than anything in my experience.

This is a site I haven't missed at all from my days with the FF. The Crafty never looks like that… ;)

I go where the thrills are
I have lost track of which number FF I am on, and which color is which number. But I have noticed two things about my two current devices (my red, which is from August, and my silver, which is from November)...both have the following odd behavior:

1. When a battery drains in the FF, it throws a red light for a few seconds, and then the red light goes out. Toggling on and off will not produce any light...the FF must be connected to AC to get a light.

2. On a fresh charge, every single time, the first hit causes a false red light. EG, mid-first hit, red light comes on, heat shuts down. Toggle off/on, green comes back, rest of battery charge is normal. This happens with both devices, every time I take the first hit on a fresh charge, irrespective of battery. I think EDA has experienced something similar.

I've also noticed my two most used batteries have about half of their original lives...I maybe get 15 long hits, tops, from each. I still have three new ones unopened, but being a cheap bastard I've been trying to avoid breaking them out while I use up my old ones. The pain of constant draining is just about to eclipse my tight-fistedness.

I don't know if the weird light behavior presages catastrophic failure. My last silver completely died after a few weeks of odd light issues...so I fully expect one or both if these to fail sooner rather than later. I hope I'm wrong...the Silver is only 8 weeks old.

Batteries are a big problem. I notice mine have shorter and shorter usage time.
At thirty a pop, I see an expensive paper weight in my future. FF really need to fix
this for the next version.

I have been thinking about getting a Crafty or a Mighty. You have the Fifefly, can you give a quick rundown on why you seem to like the Crafty better?

Okay its been like a 2 months now with the firefly and its amazing! Saving so much herb and money. Battery sucks but I only use at home. I wanted to know some tips and tricks for my FF. I read something about putting a screen on top of the herb and stuff like that. I just want to try things out that other people do to max out the vape. I usually just pack a little over the rim and draw while holding the trigger till I feel something and I let go of the trigger and keep pulling for another 5 secs. I have glass screens also if there's a cool trick to do with those. Thank you !

Try laying on the heat and drawing for the full 30 seconds on your second draw on a fresh bowl. I am always amazed how hard the Firelfy can hit with so few draws :)

Idk about screens since I'm fine with just the 1. For me, I like to adjust my draws while holding the button, raising and lowering temps with my draws. I start with a slow draw for about 5 seconds then do a faster draw for about 2 seconds, then another slow draw for a couple seconds then let go

Yeah puff puff like a tobacco bowl. :nod:Also get some micro fiber cloths, the thin kind, like a paper towel consistancy. I named mine "Towlie" ;) They last for multiple cleans. Cleaning is a cinch, with 90% iso. Takes me less than a minute.
Don't use iso on the outside of the port hole. There is a gasket that does't like iso.
Also go with lightly moist towel on the bowl with unit upside down, you don't wany iso in there.

What are you talking about there? outside the port hole? Your mean the bowl? I clean the whole thing with iso. Damp Qtip of iso and I wipe the whole thing down clean really good. I soak the top cover air path with iso and then wipe again completely dry. Never head problems yet :s

The glass window is kept in place with a silicon gasket that doesn't like iso. It's okay to clean with iso on a cloth, but don't flood this window with iso or problems with the gasket will ensue.
