No one should retire their Solo!Ok fair enough, would you consider a good replacement to retire my Solo and is the Vapor quality in your opinion better than the Solo?
I'm glade you love it @mitchgo61!!!I was intrigued by ElPic's suggestion so I ordered a three pack of the Iolite Wispr screens from VapeWorld. In general I have had no luck with any non-oem mods I've used on the FF...the Arizer baskets ruined the taste for me, a top screen seems to make the chamber too hot...but I figured the worst case scenario was losing 17 bucks.
They arrived yesterday, and man, what a find. They fit perfectly. They don't seem to add any heat (although I haven't used it yet on my Silver, just my Red, so I can't be sure what effects it might have on that particular device, though it fits both perfectly.) It keeps the floor of the bowl clean, eliminates the need for the bottom screen (and the attendant issues with removing, and re-installing the screen), keeps fine debris from slipping under the bowl edges, and in general makes the bowl much neater and compacted material doesn't build around the edges. It also pops out easily.
Doesn't seem to be a downside other than making the chamber slightly smaller due to the raised nature of the screen...but I didn't really notice it forcing me to use any less material. Overall, an *excellent* upgrade to the stock screens, the first non-stock thing I've done with the FF that works well for me, and I like it so much I'm going to order another half-dozen. As I said I need to see how it works in the Silver, but so far in the Red FF it's a stellar addition. Thanks to @ElPic for the awesome idea.
I noticed that a lot of you guys have two Fireflys. I'm pretty new to vaping on a regular basis and can appreciate that a back-up could be necessary. Is that the main reason to own two?
Yeah still don't have any Yet but had the iolite and Wispr for years... Used the original screens that came in it the entire time in each. They clean up like new super fast in ISOISOI'm glade you love it @mitchgo61!!!
You don't have to buy more screen, these thing are heavy duty!! I use the same one for 3 month now!!! I dipped in iso and it's like new.
Can you still get your ABV dark brown using that screen? In other words, do you lose any heat with this mod? Thanks.
The iolite screens and wispr screens are the same? Which one is everyone getting? I have been reading on mobile ha"I ordered from Puffitup and got 'em for $12.71 +free shipping used coupon code: PUFFEDUP"
Thanks for the tip, steama, saved a few bucks too!
Iolite & wispr screens are the same. Here's the link for vapeworld but they got in pretty every vape store. The iolite screens and wispr screens are the same? Which one is everyone getting? I have been reading on mobile ha
Remove the original FF screen, and put this one in, screen on top. Also, how would I install this screen?
No you don't have to disassemble anything, the wispr screen have the perfect size for the FF bowl, you just drop it in.You mean, between the glass bowl and the metal plate? Do you have to disassemble the firefly to get it in there?
When I purchased the Firefly I was like WOW! This is the best! I still think that, but the solo is also the best! As Vitolo said, you can't really compare them because they are different in their own respect. I still use the heck out of the solo as well as the Firefly. The Firefly is more stealthy, the solo packs more of a punch. The firefly has some of the best flavor I've tried in a vape, the solo has great flavor as well but the load will go a lot further for a session. You're really comparing apples to apples, Just different, REALLY GOOD apples! I hope I helped more then confused you!Ok fair enough, would you consider a good replacement to retire my Solo and is the Vapor quality in your opinion better than the Solo?
Thank you, @mitchgo61Not that I've noticed...seems to leave taste and temp unaffected. I've only just this minute started using it in my Silver FF but so far so good.
No, I try this to see if it would make a difference, but nothing significant change.Question: is it really better to drill the holes? Will it make my draw harder without them?
Perhaps they need the funds and their vaporizers are easily sold? Or they find that it doesn't fit their routine or doesn't get enough use so they try to get as much money back as possible. I don't think anyone's posting a huge sale on it because it's a pretty decent unit. As for the XP I understand that there have been ongoing issues with the Inhalater (that are being corrected in the new INH5), mostly with the USB ports wiggling loose. Other than that people really like it, so it's likely a combination of having a good vaporizer and an XP that isn't broken. This vape seems very tasty but I don't understand why so much units was already sold in Classifieds....For example it's difficult or impossible to find an Xp in Classifieds...many peoples don't wants to keep it, why please?
