Mine does it since i switched it on for the first time, they say it's nothing anormal.Hey all. I'm a new DaVinci IQ owner (just got it today) and I have a question.
When in use, my unit makes a sort of static/buzzing sound. Is this normal?
The unit seems to be working fine, I just wonder about that sound
Gotten around to deep cleaning it @django7 ? Wondering if the problems of cleaning the airpath/gasket area on the IQ is the same here on the Miqro.
I got around to trying the app. Set up some custom Smart Paths, and thought it was cool.
But then I swapped out the battery for a fresh one, and discovered that it loses your settings when you do that! It kept the names of my Smart Paths, but the actual values returned to the defaults.
Kinda defeats the purpose of having custom settings, if they reset when you put in a fresh battery.
It's not a huge deal for me, I can just use precision mode, but it surprised me in such an otherwise well-designed unit.

Yes, very normal, you're hearing the little motor that vibrates as it heats up and then vibrates once it's reached temperature. :-)
It should not be as efficient as it is with the gasket because this thing seems to restraint the airflow allowing it to pass only through the hole of the savour chamber.Does anyone ever pulled the Silicon gasket that holds the flavor chamber out?
I think I will try it because I can't clean the device anymore, the room between oven and silicon gasket is a mess!

Maybe you could replace the gasket with an o-ring (like the ones used by Sticky Brick, as there are different sizes), that would have the same function and would be removable for cleaning that space.
Iso ,lots of Q Tips and Magic Ereaser .
Great deep cleaning video here
Puffitup has a teardown post but you will void your warranty and possibly break the IQ if you attempt it .

just bought 2 samsung 30q batteries that were recommended here, charged them with a 18650 charger i had lying around - everyhing looked fine. got to use one for the first time today and after the IQ warmed up and shut down with no warning on law battery or anything. tried second battery, exactly the same issue. also the iq refuses to charge them - shows as completely charged when i plug it in to usb.
could it be that i bought fake samsung batteries? or is this a known issue
my original battery works & charge fine. did notice i need to put more pressure on the battery door when i close it with the original battery, unlike the 30q .
Yes you have the good ones (i have the same).these are the batteries i got https://www.imrbatteries.com/samsung-30q-18650-3000mah-15a-flat-top-battery/
i think they're flat top
i need to know for sure - the fact that the iq shows the battery as fully charged , is this an indication of a faulty battery?
no sorry i thought you were charging the batteries with them installed in the IQ via the usb cable.so you're saying it might be the fault of my wall charger? although it charged the new 30q batteries for at least 6 hours before it stopped charging .
wierd thing, i'm doing a burn cycle with one of the 30q's while connected to usb, and it didn't shut down so far - about 4 minutes in
