I'm not really understanding the frustrations here...
They are shipping them out now, which for me, means they will all be shipped by like the end of the upcoming week.
Maybe you guys are just more anxious than me since I've been quite satisfied playing with my cloud for the last couple of months.
I fully agree that the campaign hasn't been handled ideally up to this point, but I'm basically considering all this waiting a "sunk cost" for myself in that yeah, it was a long ass wait, and I probably would've just waited for the actual intl release f I knew it was gonna be this long, but at this point, I've already waited something like 8 months, what's a few more days?
I dunno if I got lucky getting my email saying mine has shipped, but I haven't received a tracking number. That kinda makes the wait easier for me though
I can just wait for it to show up and surprise me
I did have to email them to confirm my address, as on my email that asked me to pay shipping it said my address was
[correct street number] "address required"
[correct state & country]
Since obviously my street name isn't address required
, I just paid the shipping (already had the funds in my Paypal account from selling some glass a few weeks ago, so no cash outta my bank
) and shot them an email confirming my actual address and that I'd paid shipping.
I think a lot of us are kinda overestimating the size of the business that vapexhale is at at the moment.
Not intentionally or anything, it's just that they're putting out such a high quality product, that at least subconsciously, we're associating them with other, much larger businesses that put out products of comparable quality.
They're still only a team of like 5 or 6 people (I think?), which is really quite small.
Hopefully this whole IGG campaign has been a learning experience for vapexhale (hint: c'mon guys, either make it dual voltage from the start, or develop them concurrently so that there is a simultaneous worldwide release. It kinda inspires some bad will in customers when US buyers who weren't part of the IGG campaign at all could purchase units before we got ours...
I get that it didn't make sense to force those guys to wait just so we can get ours first, as all it would be doing is restraining cash flow for the business, but form a consumer point of view, that only explains the situation, it doesn't excuse it...)
Ok, shit as I was typing this I've just remembered the march 12th date that was thrown out...
I'm typing this wall-o-text on my phone, so I can't go back and load the page it was on, but was that date when they expected to ship by, or confirm all our details or something?
*tone disclaimer*
Not having a dig at anyone who's upset, just discussing the situation from my POV.
Edit:
One thing that has rubbed me up the wrong way a bit, is that they've just launched the "dragon cloud" contest, and its set to end within a few days of when most of us intl guys will actually receive our EVO...
It kinda felt like they were saying "here guys, you'll have your EVOs in a week or 2, and here's an awesome contest, which ends in 2 weeks"
It just seems like vxl don't view themselves as an international company. It seems to me like they view themselves as a US company, that happens to have some customers overseas
