The Angus Halogen Vape by YLL Vape

Vape swap shop
Okay I had my first go, on the way to the shops.

Vapor quality is about a 5 or 6 for me. Terps fade very quick. Could I taste robot farts? I don't think so, but taste was so so. It pumps out a fair amount of vapor, and I feel pretty stoned.

It just feels like a pretty standard mid tier vape. It reminds me of the fury edge. Unfortunately no smell proof cap like the edge, kinda makes it smelly.

So far - nothing special

Changing the topic a bit. Is it fair to characterize the Angus as the worlds first portable ball vape? Or is it more of halogen vape?

Also I'm curious who is the lead designer/wizard at YLL? Their first 2 products (regardless of potential quality issues) are kind of revolutionary. The temp controlled IH changed the way I use my Dynavaps and the Angus had to be designed by someone intimately familiar with the Apollo, the Mighty and the current ball vape trend? People have mentioned YLL not having "access" to herb, but that seems pretty unlikely given the number of things that the Angus (and the IH) does right. I'm guessing whomever designed this had to be a lover of the herb...

I can’t be the only one that finds it hilarious to read this guy saying such a thing given his history.

The lack of self awareness is astounding to say the least

@Texus @Abele Rizieri Ferrari I really wouldn’t pay much attention to what Fear has to say, dude is one shady character. Probably got an Angus competitor in the pipeline if he’s started piping up again.
Not sure I'd say hilarious but certainly atypical for an FC poster.
Positive feedback from current users provides a bit of buyer security. Negative feedback warns and discourages, again protecting this community of buyers. This is one of the values of FC. Feedback from intelligent, seasoned vapists with wide ranging user experiences.
Here's mine regarding the Angus.

Upfront, like my Sticky Brick, Milanna, Daab, and Tinymight, I was introduced to the Angus by my buddy Scott at VGoodieZ. I feel lucky to call Scott my buddy as he consistently exhibits generosity and commitment to the vape community, behind the scenes, way beyond the call of duty, and has never steered me wrong. He's part of what makes FC great!
Onto the Angus.

I'm sensitive to smells and tastes in vapes, from silicone to mechanical oils, the slightest off-smell will unfortunately shelf a vape for me.
I detected no trace of smell or taste from the Angus. It's been nothing but smooth sailing from the get-go. Quick heat up, great flavor, easy to load and dump, nice looking and has some weight in the hand. The one caveat I'd mention would be that the current mouthpiece is made from a material that does not tolerate alcohol. I was willing to live with the discoloration on the screen lock but was grateful for the news of the metal redesign.
It shares some similarities to the Mighty, and while I don't have a Mighty, it blows away my Crafty.
If I were to wishlist, after the mouthpiece redesign, I'd ask for an on-demand mode.

Regarding this being a failure. I'm scratching my head at the suggestion. I could go on about all the positives I derive from FC, but a staple is the focus group aspect. I'm glad to have access to beta test new vapes, and to swim with others more knowledgeable than I. I've been here long enough to have witnessed actual failures, vapes that never got made, vapes that off-gassed, that came apart, that failed, etc. When a manufacturer is willing to redesign and redevelop based on the user base, as Mike seems to be doing with the Angus, that leads to better vapes.
My hope is that Mike will send out the redesigned mouthpieces to all original purchasers free of charge as not only did I get myself a unit but two more for Christmas gifts.

The Angus gets my recommendation.

Haven’t been in quite a while, but a lot of people treat this assumption like fact. It’s not.

Back in the day, certain ethnic minorities were given a cultural exemption to grow and use. In Yunnan (on a corner of the Golden Triangle), it grew wild all over the valleys— massive, taller-than-you plants.

In Beijing, it was common to score from Uighur street vendors bc they also had an exemption. You could get a healthy side of hash with your lamb, right in the capital.

In Shanghai, a DJ introduced me to pressed kief by gifting me a golf ball of it— and I had literally just met the guy.

None of this to say that Mike is a user but to claim that he wouldn’t have access is just ignorance. Ofc it’s a very different China today and we all know how effective government prohibition can be. 😉

I just wanted to run it by VGoodiez that they were OK with me revealing the details on the discount I received (same discount as some Black Friday sales). But they beat me to it.

I was given 10 pre-production units. As we have discussed there was not enough time to provide feedback before the production units came out.

I selected the 10 people based and who contacted me first regarding interest in the Angus. They were provided a 25% discount on the unit and because YLL gave me the WPA and water tool for free, I passed those items on for free.

Most of these folks aren't even on FC or any other forum. So all of this speculation about coordinated marketing to promote hype is absolute garbage. Nobody was told to say anything, good bad or indifferent.

I'm kind of tired of being accused of sending out shills. Sorry we provide good products and services to our customer. We answer all of their questions before and after the sale. It seems people really like that. I can't control if they come to FC or Reddit or any other place to express their satisfaction. But for people to continue to insinuate that it is being directed by us is absolute garbage. To insinuate that this campaign of hype on this product was facilitated is garbage.

And this was well put.

I also concur with this sentiment. The sort of crap being slung at those who got the early batch aren't worth the few bucks saved.

I never want early access again tbh

Or only for feedback to maker
All I was ever asked was to provide feedback to YLL. And I've documented that feedback here in the thread. Bravo to YLL for implementing my feedback so rapidly. Let's give a little round of applause to @YLLVAPE OFFICAL for the speed of their adaptations. I am not sure I've ever seen as quick a turnaround on incorporating user feedback as this.

Why do you want to call it the world's first? How do you define G43 then...? (sorry don't answer, off topic lol) Angus really is its own thing with halogen and balls above as part of it to retain heat better, being session style with metal chamber... Still something new

If it'll fit in my old man purse (refering to the G43) it's portable. Angus is an easily portable HighLighter (which still fit's my description with Red's power control and a big enough power bank).

I think HighLighter is the first halogen/ball vape commercially done which makes Angus the first portable halogen/ball. But then again I also like double anchovie/NM green chili pizza which gives you all some insight into how "I" think.

There has also been interesting discussion of if halogen vapes should be classified as ballers. And while I originally thought "It has balls doesn't it?" I do think that these have flavor and hit signatures closer to a Heroborizer than a B0/B2/Taroma, etc. Mostly in terms of the amazingly dense and milky hits a ball vape can produce. Some of this may also be related to the smaller number of balls used in these halogen vapes. It may be that more balls would be pushing the limits of a halogen bulb.

I'd consider the Cloud Connoisseur Zenith the firt portable baller, but it isn't a one-piece device and I am not sure I'd want a pure baller portable since hits that big really benefit from some cooling. Whether from water or a longer airpath.

And what are your feelings on hydratubes like this in general vs dry or other water pieces?

I was also surprised we hadn't seen more impression of that accessory from YLL.
In general is hard for me to tell as devices can be just so different. With Angus my preferred method quickly became with water in that vapexhale hydro tube

Sorry for the crappy photo lol

I just like that one a lot with the sidecar and the turbine perc

The only thing I can say in general is that I like it if a vape can manage both dry and through water. Otherwise it has to really hit it with either the water or the dry delivery

With Angus I prefer the hydrotube, turns it into a powerful handheld for big hits, which is I think is where its highest potency lays for me. And water piece is iffy as it's not ideal to have upside down on a dropdown adapter.

Am i the only one that have a device that drains battery when shut off? Received it last week and twice already have i shut it off at like 40-60% battery life and the next day it is drained.

Like a couple % would be okay, but 60% drainage over night is insane

Extremely concerning. @YLLVAPE OFFICAL
