Around 31% of eligible voters chose him. The biggest winner was "neither" (36% of eligible voters stayed home).

Amazon is reportedly planning to include an "added cost due to tariffs" disclaimer to their product pages.

Tariffs are a sales tax
about 50 % of that 31 % thought the orange man was sending them another signed check (COVID relief) that is NEVER coming. Only Tax breaks for those 13 Billionaires he has in his cabinet.

Yeah. The economy has been very bad for a lot of people for a long time though.

As I said I am from the UK and I do not see why we are not impeaching Trump as he is breaking laws all over the place.

Are people trying to make this happen and then finding that they are putting themselves in harms way? like is trump gunning for anyone who wants to go down this route making it impossible for anyone who try's this?

Surely if enough people (judges and congress) stand together we can get this guy out? or are they all backing him?

I pray that you guys and everyone in the USA is not affected too much by this and pray that this will not go on too long.

We are feeling it in the UK a bit as we cant go to AliExpress and buy cheap things like we did before but for the most part the UK is unaffected atm but am sure we will be if this continues.

The thing is Trump could do so much good for the world and be that guy who was remembered forever for changing things for the better but he prefers to play Darth Vader....... its shocking!!!!!

Approximately half the congress is backing him.
Also the FBI recently started to jail judges that goes against trump decisions.
but he prefers to play Darth Vader...
I don't think he's playing tbh. He's just so insecure that he needs to dominate and crush everyone and every thing out there thinking he'll be safe then. Only to find out he's still insecure and needs someone / something else to crush.

I'm NOT a whitehouse felon supporter (I refuse to use his name anymore), but this isn't exactly true. The judge in question may have acted outside her authority. The courts will determine that. I whole-heartily disagree with the arrest, but it wasn't just for disagreeing with the administration's policies.

Yes. This is fascism. Trump is now arresting judges, and mobilizing the military to be able to arrest dissidents. They've also gotten several law firms to capitulate and promise free legal services for the administration so they can gum up the courts with bogus claims of terrorism and gang activity and anti-semitism in order to detain and deport tons of people.

The judge may or may not have acted outside her authority. The point is that jailing her for that is a show of force designed to demonstrate that Trump and his cronies are the law, and anyone who acts against them gets imprisoned. The idea that this administration cares for rule of law went out the window when Karoline Leavitt indicated the administration is open to arresting SCOTUS judges. If they are willing to arrest SCOTUS judges, then there is no genuine care for rule of law, and the multiple arrested judges in question are to demonstrate use of force rather than a willingness to work alongside the law.

Looks like the CEOs of Target and Walmart warning about empty shelves fell on deaf ears.

There is only one thing holding America together. And it's not patriotism or freedumb. It's ready access to affordable treats. Were that to ever disappear, we would quickly enter The Cool Zone.

I think price transparency is a good thing!

Because if retailers don't do this, even businesses not affected by tariffs will jack up their prices. Just like they did during the post-COVID inflation.

I was doing for work for a software/SaaS(🙄) company in 2021. They raised their prices due to "inflation". If anything, their costs went down from 2020-2021!

I think a lot of businesses follow the advice of Winston Churchill - "never let a good crisis go to waste."

To be fair, maybe some who don't need to raise their prices do so anyway because they figure if their costs aren't raised today, they may be tomorrow. So use the crisis to build a rainy day fund for when/if they get hit with cost increases.

We get this question about tariffs on an hourly basis. Asking "If we're seeing anyone get dinged when the import for Canada, including Chinese brand/origin vapes". As of May 1, we haven't seen anyone get charged that we shipped to in the US or the UK, with over 800 orders in the last two weeks going to the US and about 70 orders going to the UK. All but ~25 orders were marked below $300.00 in value, the rest above $900.00 USD. There is a personal limit that the customs officials were managing of $800 before they triggered their inspection stage, before the trump effect. Seems as of today they are still operating under that mandate. Customs brokers we work with and the major couriers, their seems to be so much confusion in the paperwork backed that most of the paper work is being "bypassed" until their government compiuter systems have the rulkes in place, so waiting on coders and legal to implement. Our US warehouses are definitely hesitant and there is some hand holding and manuvering, and we see stocks are starting to depleet but consumer in our industry isn't hit yet. Prepare for summer to be where you see increases.

Or perhaps they will import lots (see today's GDP decrease due to ramped up imports) and use the relatively lower cost to keep prices low and gain market share.

Sorry if I already posted this but the Tariffs are affecting myself and other HAM radio enthusiasts as we buy the quansheng and other Chinese brand hand held radios and now they will not even ship them to UK and EU because of the extra costs.

These radio cost as low as £17 but usually say £26 or so but now they are not shipping them even at a higher price.

The same goes for the budget SDR radios and gadgets that are bought by every HAM enthusiast.

See guys these little radios can do almost everything and more than the big names like ICOM and Yaesu and most people cant afford the big make radio and with these you can do all sorts with the software. This means that anyone can get into HAM radio and not just the rich.

Sorry to go on just this is how it is affecting myself and others here in EU. I do have most of the things I wanted to get but the new models came out now and cant pick one up and now it looks like this might negatively impact the hobby as when new people join the FB groups i am part of they cant get the cheap radios to get into the hobby as easy and this is how it ahs kept going recently and had a resurgence because of these cheap radios and other gadgets.

I think the factories selling them have maybe shut down or changed to making something more profitable a these are niche items.

EDIT - A lot of the retro gaming and gaming stuff on AliExpress is the same. This might not be every seller on there but all the main ones are only selling certain things to EU now.

Which tariffs are affecting these? I can't see why the US ones would affect items coming from China to you.

They are not selling or sending any of the radios to the EU anymore the same with a lot of the other cheap nock off gadgets. A few of the big sellers just closed their storefronts.

There are still sellers on there who sell them but like i say all the main trusted place are gone or no longer selling the same radios and gadgets.

I mean could be a completely different reason than tariffs but I doubt it.
