Tafée Bowle

Fact:
Ever since I've gotten this vape, I barely used my water setups with TM and EVO, just barely.
Yesterday, I kinda forced myself on an early TM+Water bowl, but then I stayed with the bowle for the rest of the day.
Feels as if I can give up on vaping with water, and this has been my thing since the day the original cloud was released.

The most brilliant thing about this vaporizer, is the fact that it solved the loading/maintenance issues.
I'm all for a solo/TM form factor with its stem since its so easy to use and load, compared to a pot/chamber solution where its always gets clogged if not cleaned thoroughly all the time.
The bowle managed to get the good of both worlds, its a stem with a replaceable chamber/pot.
You can pre load pots and you don't really need to clean the bowle at all.
Look, cleaning the screen or glass holes in a stem is not something I consider "cleaning and maintaining" because its very easy to clean after each use and will not get clogged easily, if the entire mouthpiece had to be cleaned for performance, then I would consider that cleaning, so keep that in mind when I talk about not cleaning. A brush would work most of the time, also not leaving the herb spent will also be best, but if it is dirty, all I need it to dip a q tip in 99% ISO and the screen is cleaned in no time. Like new!

EDIT: Lol, I just lost the screen and looks like I either lost the extra screens/o-rings bag or never had it, damn, where do you shop for extra screen? the TM does not seem to fit.

Oof Yeah they don't give you any extra screens unfortunately, I think others reported half inch screen size fit okay? Haven't tested myself, but my screens are already starting to get worn out a bit...

Thanks, I guess I haven't gotten the rings as well then...
I do have a few screens that fit but the are more coarse than whats comes with the taffee so I prefer to use a finer mesh.

Has anyone else ever tried 'topping off' their pot on cleanup hits?

Here's a typical session for me:
Lightly tamped pot to ~85%, med grind
3-5 hits on 2 (maybe 6-12 seconds each)
1 hit on 3
Quick stir (at this point the pot is about %65 full). I then put a then even layer of fresh herb on top - this freshens up the cleanup hits with a terp boost.
1 hit on 3
1 hit on 4

Perfectly even AVB.

Note I don't always use it the same.. sometimes load less than 50%, move the screen (before or mid session), ride 1 for a while, start at 3 for a couple big hits, lot of ways to use it! And this 'top off' technique could be used with any method and, perhaps, a lot of different vapes (seems to work well with the TM also) but shines with the TB for me.

I get why you do it, streching it out and keeping it fresh, but your description of your first set of hits equals a spent bowl to me. The Bowle works so well with small loads I'd rather dump and load 1/2 pots each time. From your example you would use less weed (85% plus refill 35% compared to 2 x 50% loads) and have an actual fresh load not just freshened.

15 mm screen worked for me when mine came out.

A tamped pot filled half way will fog up my entire office on Level 3. I almost always fill less than half way.

I did not receive any extra screens or o-rings with mine. [ Ordered the shorty barebones ]
I ordered the shorty barebones as well.

Originally thought I looked carefully and don’t see any screens/o-rings with my unit.
After a couple a couple of days I decided to look again. Finally found them after another couple of minutes going through everything with a “Fine tooth comb”.

basically, I’m saying it can be easily missed.

a second stem for the Bowle has really been a game changer. Using the second stem to let friends try [COVID safe, not during the same session]. I am 3/3, for each of the persons that has tried it has gone out and purchased one for themselves.

also, with the second stem, I am far less reluctant to do a cleaning cycle now that I can continue to use my bowle during the wash.

Any news when main site will have restock of 400ml?
Haven’t heard anything yet but I find the smaller cup/stem to be much more comfortable and ergonomic, especially without a cup. Also, I have not heard from anyone that the longer stem with the 400ml cup makes a cooling difference compared to the shorter stem. Seems like the only thing the 400ml version does better is hold moe water in the cup. Anyone Agree or Disagree? I personally have the smaller, 250ml version.

I have the 250ml and I honestly don't want it any bigger. I don't have a problem with the size. Just wish I like it as much as you guys do.

The only reason I prefer the 400ml is because I like a lot of ice in my drinks and I like a lot of drink in my drink too.:D

There aren't many folks who have both sizes but the ones who do that posted .... I don't remember anyone noting a difference in cooling or utilization.

But we can’t buy a 2nd stem as a stand alone purchase, right?

sounds like a great option to share and stay covid safe...
They are not in the store just yet...

Everyone has their own comfort level for safety during COVID, but for me Bowle has actually been a great option with the entire vapor path being the stem, and the ability to not share stems.

Fortunately, those in my circle these days have all been at least partially vaccinated. My second jab is next month.

@m0sh maybe I am wrong:

I got extra screens and extra gaskets for the pots. Are you sure you didn’t get any?
i got extra orings and screens with both of my units as well.

Oh yeah I got the bare bones, but it came as the full set, I must have these spares too then, been a while since I dove into the box, should not have spoken so soon!

So I’ve been steaming away happily with the Bowle, for the most part. I have had the heater cut off mid draw a few times, but never when I was focusing on holding down the button. My current belief (about my unit) is that the button is poorly executed and too easily registers any release of pressure during a draw. Maybe it has just been a coincidence. I’ll keep testing

Yes this has been my impression, that most of my sensor ifiness, is due to my own inconsistence in draw or more often than not, holding the button down... I actually think it would be better if the indent out dent was reversed, like the power button concave out and the temp button convex in or whatever, if that makes any sense lol

3rd. Any early cut offs for me (pretty rare) seem to be caused by me lightening my touch on the button. I agree the button sensing or form factor could be slightly improved, but its def not a major or common issue for me. Yea a convex power button would prly help with this but, now that I think about it, the concavity is probably by design to reduce the chance of accidental heater activation (while in a bag or something and not turned off)?

I used to feel like that and explained it any way I could. I sort of felt like I was making excuses for it, but I was ok with that. Then thru trouble shooting they told me that it was definitely defective!

It started out slow and continually got worse, towards the end I also think it was heating less effectively. But the process has been effortless, just a bit slow. Outstanding CS from POTV!

I'm excited to get the replacement and use it full force!

Just saying, there may be a few bugs and maybe you're not the cause?

Monkeytime, the only issue with POTV is that they won't offer any warranty support internationally.

Australian consumer law actually says this is illegal when dealing with Australian customers, but POTV don't seem to care about that.

If the unit had issues, according to their international returns policy, the victim of the faulty unit would have to pay return postage, at the very least.
They also say they won't even deal with international warranty (which again is against Australian consumer law - we need to return the item to the retailer, NOT the manufacturer) - they say to send to the company at own cost instead.

So, a very expensive device with a poor warranty, not great for anyone overseas.

I asked Tafee about local distribution but they ignored my email. Not a good company it seems.
