Tafée Bowle

What’s up everyone… looking to get back into the cannabis game and I want one of these bad boys again 😎 I think between this and a crafty+ that’s a fair enough roster.

Just PMd someone on the classifieds, any advice for things I should look for in a used tafee bowle?

I'm quite surprised.
I think @fangorn once said he asked Tafée and they replied warranty would be transferred to the next owner.
Isn't that possible ?

yeah, I was going to jump in on that... thanks for getting back to me!

so yes, I just checked and got an email from them telling me that the warranty follows the unit internationally so I could sell it with no warranty concerns!

and finally I exchanged my unit for an FW7...

But it would have bothered me to have to pass it on without guarantee!!!

I hope that clarifies...

That wasn't my experience with customer service when the faulty charging port stopped functioning last year. They gave me a hard time I was even though I could produce the receipt from the original purchaser. And I had to pay $90 plus shipping to Canada to replace the faulty puck within the first year. Maybe they changed their policy since after backlash. They specifically told me the warranty is non-transferable.

yeah...sorry that's your experience...
it doesn't surprise me that much either...I mean...that's how it is with many departments...it always depends on who answers us, if that employee wants to help, be overzealous. ..

I have many examples in mind unfortunately.

once I got the answer I wanted in writing, I consider them engaged.
if in the future, they were to pose a problem for the warranty of my old unit, I will be sure of my rights.

I'll help a lot more...but you have to play with the rules, and their rules...and Tafee is pretty clear on their website about sharing the content of the emails you exchange with them. not allowed to share.

so they cover / protect themselves too... the answer they gave me "could not make case law" and apply to everyone...

Anyway, sorry, I feel like my answer is very disjointed...and lacking in links...hope there's something to be gained from this anyway!

I overdid the good stuff...

Ah wow how I love the Bowle. The hits, the flavor. I put spring water which I collect from the local mountain in mine - cleanse my pallet and enjoy some of my homegrown Red Gorilla Girl - such a satisfying combination when eating a fresh grilled red bream with some green wine and yummy sides.

For indulgence, pleasure, satisfaction - the Bowle does great. The VapBong to knock me out (and 6 others...) when I need it to. If only the Bowle fit in my pocket!

When I saw this device, I wasn't sure about it. Obviously, I looked into it more due to all the positive things I've read/watched. I realized that perhaps, it'd be enjoyable during the fall months, to sit out by the fire with a drink in the cup and some tasty vapor when I desired.

I do have a question. I've seen people say that it provides cool hits but just how cool are they? Is there any harshness to them due not having any water filtration? I'm a long time Evo user so I run everything through water and am really not a fan of hitting a vape without some water filtration.

The hits are cool, maybe the coolest hits I have experienced together with MiviVap, but they are still dry hits without the moisture of the hits coming through water.

I appreciate the info. I'd assume having a cold drink and some ice in the cup could help cool it noticeably more. I may wait until the V2 comes out to pick one up. Plus, it seems to be out of stock anyways.

My feelings also, I almost got one last year, after hearing about the poor batter I went instead with a portable option that I could put in my pocket & take with me, now looking for something plug-in for at home use, cheers!

Hey everyone

Can someone help me explain what the difference is in stems? Small, tall and stubby? Machined? It is very confusing.

From what I can tell it’s all about the length and material, but does that really matter that much? I realize the longer the airpath the better the cooling but other than that?

I have been enjoying this device A LOT! It is very flawed (design, battery, annoying draw censor) but goddamn if it isnt the fastest and easiest way to get big tasty, cool clouds!

Folks say that length does not affect the cooling, of the three sizes, so those become personal preference, also fit for which size cup you use.

The "machined" were a short run, made as a solution for folks who didn't like the finish wearing off of the others. The machined is 'unfinished'. I think it may be all machined SS, while the standards are cast aluminum.

I think they all work equally well? though I've only tried short and long standard editions.

A very promising NEW message is on the site...restocking for the first of the quarter of 2023...they changed the message to this new one. I am happy again...we shall see!

Depends on your definition of promising… from a month ago:

I gotta admit, I'm a little let down by the banner on Taffe that has been updated (from "Q3 2022"):

SOLD OUT. RESTOCKING FOR Q1 2023.

What changed? That’s the same message that we were seeing back in September… which was a pushed back date that had already been pushed back previously. I’m excited for news of something on the horizon, but I’m not seeing what you’re seeing for some reason.
Its not. The date changed for next year. I have been starring at the same 3rd quarter one for ever. When I looked it moved into the new year. Its not the same for me.

EDIT; Let me preface this post by saying that this adapter does not hook up your Taffe Bowle to a water piece; it merely allows for use of the Stem as a cooling device for other vapes.
****************************

I asked Ratchet (@Delta3DStudios) to come up with an adapter to pair the Bowle's stem with a 14mm wpa. I sent him one of my stems to work with.
He did, and mine are currently en route to me, I'll be anxious to see how they came out and how they work! I'll of course report back.
I think this setup can be used instead of a glass j-hook, for instance; relatively unbreakable.

In the (unlikely) event that this becomes wildly popular, I think he has other materials/methods that could make for a more refined-looking piece, we'll have to see how that goes...for now, this is available!

******************************************
On a less happy note, my Bowle has stopped working. It takes a charge, lights seem all working normal, just zero heat is being produced, the green lights go blue after 3 or 4 secs. I tried the puck reset procedure. Email has gone to support...

Small consolation is that in the meantime I'll be able to re-purpose the stem for something? hmmm....seems bizarre to use a Hopper as a backup for anything...

The Delta3d adapter should be arriving here today, so I've got that to look forward to...
And my other really bright news today is that I won an Xmax V3Pro over in that contest thread.

The Bowle sits. I have email from support asking that I send it in; I guess they won't speculate on whether it is a covered 'defect', they want to diagnose.
My issue is that the postage is around $35 and I already sent it in once earlier this year at my own cost. I purchased it this year, so, not very old... this is adding up!
Sending Grasshoppers back was easy, at about 3 or 4 bucks postage I did that lots of times!

This Bowle has been, for wife and me, a game changer -- cool, smooth, tasty hits and one of the only ones we don't cough very much with. I mull over options...and study up on the Angus?
At minimum I may have to wait for next iteration of the Bowle, speculated for early next year? (or not?)
