Tafée Bowle

Yeah I pissed on the rug...... so what
Personal I find the the concentrate fiber to be way way way overpriced! Especially since the idea of reusing them sounds unpeeling! I want my dab to be fresh and pure not tainted by the remanence of the night before :puke: I'm a one a done kind of guy and while I like that they are made from degumed hemp fiber which is basically impossible to find in Canada and I can't order for the states :disgust::cuss::rant:I just use medical grade cotton since I get it for free and so do most people so 13 bucks plus tax is a awful steep to do 6 dabs

Cotton definitely sounds cheaper!! I've never dabbed yet so it's all new to me, great to learn these things. Hoping some extracts/concentrates should be available sometime in Australia, so far we only have CBD isolate. Definitely not paying postage on top for the fibers too, unless they send them a lot cheaper than the $15-25! Not that I can even get postage to Australia haha that would be crazy. Still waiting for them to get an Australian stockist/distributor..
I should have some funds ready for a Bowle in the coming couple of months, but not sure if should wait for the revised version or not, or just settle for a V1 with machined stem (or an aluminium self removed if the steel stem doesn't work as well).

In the meantime I'm sticking with my loaned friend's Volcano Digit.. just spent some funds getting new screens for the Volcano easy valve chamber, new bags, chamber reducer for smaller doses (decided not as good as the vanilla chamber so going to try a concentrate pad instead of the reducer), dosage capsules (not good in the Volcano I think, blocks too much air).. I am using the Volcano a lot more with the chamber reducer but don't like how it retains heat so much. Keen to try the concentrate pad under or on top of herb in the regular chamber next. I am really not a fan of bags though, the noise annoys my cat and it feels a bit harsh on 2nd and 3rd bags with smaller amounts of herb in the reducer (maybe need to try some smaller bags, but probably won't make much difference). Was thinking of getting the bag to WPA but probably just get used to not having a bubbler involved and settle for the Volcano vanilla bag experience in the meantime. Really keen to have something a lot smaller and quicker and easy to load and hit though (Bowle)!
I might have to move my Arizer EQ into the living room or something so it might get some use from guests or something.. I do like it with a WPA but the 15 minute warm up times is what made me look into the Tafee in the first place. Volcano resolves the time issue but I want to draw on something other than a bag haha. Any Volcano Digit or Classic owners able to compare the experience directly between the Volcano and Tafee? I know completely different beasts but in terms of vape taste/signature etc.

I just stick with the medical grade cotton it's high grade and free. Any time you buy vitamins or aspirin or any pill bottle that has cotton in it that is medical grade so don't throw it away!

Edit: picked up the tip from a fellow FCer

Just make sure it’s cotton. I’m sure it varies by country, but the US and Canada have both adopted rayon and polyester fluff for pill bottles. The poly is pretty obvious, but rayon can look very similar to cotton.

On cotton balls, avoid the word "puffs".
If it's not real cotton, they are called "cosmetic puffs"
This logo is on 100% cotton products.... look for it!

It is against federal law to label a package "Cotton" if it's not.
Some foreign concerns use the word cotton with trickery around it in tiny print, an example is:
" just like COTTON Cosmetic Puffs"
Look for the logo as above.
It is on each of these products.

Pill bottle s were always a great source in the past, but since it is not made for use in medical cleaning, packing etc. they can use the cheaper little sister, the synthetics.
I still use clearly labeled cotton.
I have been using the same bag of 500 100% Cotton Balls since about 2009!

My Tafee is down for the count. Completely dead of all LED activity, no longer charges. Tried resetting, tried non oem cords and adapters, no luck. Got in touch with Tafee support today. I hope I can get this resolved quickly. Anything else to try?
You could try using the stock brick and cord and plugging it in and once and hour or so checking it, if it's not charging, unplug and plug it back in.

I haven't narrowed it down, but the firmware seems to have stringent tolerances for charging when the battery is low. When the battery is three or four bars full, it seems anything goes. Get it below that and it starts getting finicky.

Keep trying, something let's them start charging again.

Tried with the stock cord and brick. Support advised to troubleshoot with my Samsung adapter and cords. No dice yet. Support has been fast and friendly. I don't foresee any problems getting a satisfactory resolution. I'm just sad I can't reach for it anymore.

Now for something completely different

Don't bother hiding it
Be honest, say it's a vaporizor

Bowle-travels.jpg

"Crosby's" 80th, had to go visit, all vaccinated
He tried Bowle, but still prefers joints
(see HighTimes '75 Winter issue)
That's actually hilarious that you took a picture of the Bowle in the bucket as it was going through security. Well done lol!

Thanks @stonedmallone , that pic is from return fight, a TSA PSA for Bowle "fellow travellers"

Departing flight I had packed in carry-on bag. Was taken from line to the security area of shame

Told agent what it was, obviously had never seen one. Then he held the stem and said, "so this is the mouthpiece?" Yup. Save yourself aggravation on domestic flights, put it in bin

(After Crosby learned Bowle was from Toronto, said he ran plenty of loads up there early '70s, enjoyed the city)

What is everyone's position on the new unfinished stems?

How many of you are interested in buying as soon as they are available?

I've had a little flaking on one of my stems, but not enough to find bothersome... they look nice, I wish they were closer in price to the originals.

Have they actually shown photos of the machined stems? I haven't seen that. The listing on the website doesn't show a photo.

I still haven't noticed any flaking on my stock stem. I don't plan on buying a machined one. The stock works great!
