alright so tragedy has already struck lol... my little brother dropped the heating element on to carpet. got most of the gunk off but was just curious would steel wool damage titanium in any way? I am thinking it shouldn't but just wanted to see if anyone had any other experience with the matter or if there was another way. tried iso soak and torching it pretty good but to no avail for the last remaining gunks..

eliminator has been awesome other than that though able to get some serious pulls and the heat up time is quick about 30 seconds or less to blast off with a propane torch.

The connectors i had were not ok,they work apart when you lift the head.I use xldrs most days with my work. The ones i had did not have the indent to secure the male to female, they had the locating ridge but not the indent for the spring clip.Which means a bad connection. Now if xlr's are not connected, seated correctly they buzz with pa equipment which is a short.
Just to add sublimatior and planetvape have been really honest and helpful trying to sort this issue out for me,but boy do i miss the sublimator due to every other vape being wispy compared to the devastating sublimatior hits.

That XLR connector is a bit of a week spot. Having said that I can see why they used it.
It is a problem area where the different cables join. I see this issue with E nails. How to join a hot element to a respectable flexible power lead that plugs into the controller.

I put mine in the post today.:(

FC200 came in today. Perfect match for the Sub. Atomizer and apollo can be left in the pipe without any worry of it tipping over. My new go to glass. Will post pictures one day soon

Nice :D

I've been loving my FC-1000 with the sub
- large volume for fat rips
- plenty of diffusion to smooth out the hit
- it's nice and large and doesn't seem prone to tipping at all, even with my sub sitting atop a cloud buddy.

A friend of mine mentioned that the sub really shouldn't be using XLR connectors as they aren't rated for this level of power flowing through them.

Got any thoughts on this?

Just did a quick google search and the are good for 5-16 amps depending on configuration. I was drawing .46A with mine so even if a functioning unit pulled a full amp there is plenty of capacity to spare.
A nice handle would involve $

Xlr,s used to be the industry standard connectors for pro audio speakers,So if they go from amplifier to speaker cabinets they handle quite high currents, otherwise speakers would not work.I am surprised Sublimator do not use neutrik connectors as these are the industry standard for pro audio nowadays.

I have the ufo whip for my sub as well as yq-13 bong also for the sub both used with a Kathy reclaimer.

Hey Guys,
Still using/loving my Sub. I have a question about screens. I think but I am not sure the screens are 13mm across. Has anyone been able to source titanium screens in that size? Mine keep getting lost and I hate to send to Canada just for screens!
Thanks for any input!

Not sure if the screens are titanium i thought they were normal screens.I also use the iolite screen set i the atomiser, they are better quality.

I use 1/2" screens on the top layer and a 3/8" screen wedged down in the bottom section. I didn't spring for titanium, but stainless seems fine for now. I'd like to see about having one laser cut eventually from a thin sheet of Ti.

Grab the iolite screens. I just did last week. They retain heat better and clean easier than the standard screen. The only complaint is it falls out of the atomizer when you dump your abv out, but all you gotta do is throw it back in (but be careful it can get hot)

All my days in a daze...

Yeah, I've come to really love and appreciate the iolite screens!
When I dump mine out I swap in a another one and then when the just dumped one cools I use a little brush to keep it clean... and then rotate like that. At first I was like this is annoying, know I am like

Nice to see so many loving the sub so much I had the pleasure of a try at a local hemp expo recently alongside the mighty cloud evo, I found both of these units to be top notch but have question for the sub lovers here about flavour.

I keep reading that the sub doesn't exactly deliver in the taste department has anyone tried doing hits on a lower temp to compensate and bring out the flavour much more or is it just the way the device works that it dissipates the flavour regardless of heat setting? I'm a big lover of both clouds and flavour, nothing more pleasing on the eye than seeing a full milky bong full of fun but flavour plays a big part for me I mean why wouldn't it.

I fancy getting a sub in the future but the talk of loss on the flavour front makes me wonder if this right for me, not bothered about the heat up times, potential fire hazards and timer issues those things can be worked thru but flavour simply isn't.

I'd opt for the adapta kit really as upon seeing the whole setup I think it looks overpriced for what it was (didn't help it was a plastic tube unit on display) so I'd get it in a dh gate bubbler already being shown in this thread before.

The flavor does not taste bad. It just has "less" taste compared to the Cloud Evo imo. I wouldnt be thrown off by the less taste as its medicating abilities will make you not really care lol

I can see why the sub owners love there device so much, so what numbers are you hitting at if your attempting to attain the best flavour for your money? Mostly I'd be doing flowers only maybe some bubble or dry sift when I've got some made (get thru that stuff far to quick) don't do oils really as I don't have a vac setup to purge properly right now maybe in the future.

It's been said plenty of times before but another huge variable in the "taste" factor of your Sub is how often you clean it, not so much what temperature you're running it at. To be honest I get about the same taste on levels 6-8, with a little hint of "toast" at those higher temps. But I do have to Q-tip and alcohol everything after every other use. It never gets too far-gone to be more than a 30 second nuisance, but it's worth it. You will get the full taste every time on a clean Sub, it's when you don't clean it so often that the taste starts to drop off since everything is just getting flash-vaped and gunkified together in one small space. A clean Sub is also a happy Sub, you will get maximum performance when you keep all that hot stainless steel free of herbal debris.

So my 3rd replacement warranty sublimator has just arrived. It has the same poor fitting xlr connectors that are not tight fitting and work loose during usage which i believe kills the monkey box. This is beyond a joke now for such an expensive item.Sublimator even dealt with this issue direct and still its not right. I did have a paypal claim open to cover me and the deadline was approaching fast,i feel sublimatior have rushed this out the door to beat the paypal deadline and i have the same issues again. I do not even want o switch it on,i am so dissapointed as sublimatior had a month of time to sort this out. I have paid for the shipping back twice now at a cost to me £60. When i had a working one i was happy till it broke 2 weeks or so after purchase. Sublimator know about these problems yet they still churn out poor quality xlr parts.

Man that just blows. I am thinking about one of these . But hearing this makes me stop.
For the price they should bend over backward for you. Very sad

Sounds like they do still have room for improvement in the customer service department. But let's also not forget the whole "product-review forum" syndrome, where the poor instances of the product get much more exposure because people with them are far more likely to put the effort into writing about it. And when all those isolated reports get corralled into one spot, it does create a bit of a misleading negative perception. I have seen it happen many times on some of the hobby modelling forums I belong to. Whenever a certain model gets released and a few of them turn up with some factory defects, it gets posted about ad nauseum and the whole production run gets a bad rap. In reality, those models were superb, and the fear of the couple bad apples just spoils the bunch for everyone else.

It would be interesting to know the actual failure rate among the Subs produced, for all we know it could be only 1 in 1,000 that turn out like this and all the other happy owners with good units are just silently enjoying without posting about it here. Because of this, for every unit that goes belly up and reported about here, I still feel compelled to give mine a shout-out for coming up on a year of flawless performance

Just to add that Sublimator have said they will swap out the parts when they have a new batch of connectors arrive. So they are trying their best to sort this issue out for me.They sent this unit back so i could keep subbing rather than keep me waiting longer. So They are bending backwards to help me out,I just misunderstood what they were trying to do to keep me subbing.

Damn @zippy thats fucked up. Aint no reason you should have to take a loss like that.. I really feel for you bro and hope your shitty situation gets solved asap. id be devistated

Off topic: Anyone tried adding concentrates to inside the atomizer along with the flowers? If so, does everything still function/vaporize properly? Those lil air intake holes on the Apollo are just too small for my dabs

I used to use an arizer bowl screen the one with the sides, I placed the herbs in the atomiser then drop the ariser screen on top of that with the other extracts in. Seems to work well for me as the oils will get stopped by the herbal stuff underneath.
