I have not, but there used to be a Lamart torch vape that used balls as thermal mass. I think RWW told me he had one (admit I'm a little jelly). Not sure how well they worked, to be honest, but I'd look into that at a starting point.Has anyone ever messed with beads in the intake stem? I was looking at all the ball mods for desktops and I was considering trying to do the same for a brick. Kind of have a thermal mass to heat up then hit.
Sorry, you got to. ; )God damnit. I decided not to buy a Neo even though I want one. Now I might have to.
A heater really can simplify and add consistency. I think what surprised me about the Neo is the flavor, and also the crazy production at those presumably lower temps. I justified the purchase to myself reasoning that it untethers from my knee-high vape station, allowing me to use the heater on my desk which is comfortable for placing the wee hydrotubes at face level. I can also use it on the porch, etc, and importantly, after dark. I still use my torch all the time, but after dark or on the porch, it's nice to have the option.Funny you should bring up the neo, I thought the same thing about it and just yesterday I saw a video showcasing how it actually works. That's brilliant to use it with the hydrobrick as I have been trying to find a way to make it more beginner friendly.
I had gotten a small heat gun from Amazon and it worked but I would not trust inhaling it. They do sell higher end ones made with better components that have temp and air control that would be perfect but again, not sure if they are safe to be inhaling from.
Hah! I just 'downgraded' from an OG/Maxx to a Flip and I'm just a wee bit happier than I was before: this Flip is MUCH easier and more enjoyable to use than I expected, and the results are pure SBL. I like that it feels so responsive, and that it got me high as fuck last night testing it out. There's more to say, but for now, I love this flippin brick!I got the flipbrick as an experiment to see if I wanted to invest more money in one of their better units.
I love my OG but I haven't tried the maxx or runt. Straight intake is great for me, got it going after a bowls. or two. Like coolbreeze said, you just need to adjust the angle of the flame until you hear the whistle. Hits are cool and big. I keep the restrictor disk in mine.I definitely love this device and I am 100% committed to upgrading. Now the question is what is the best upgrade? I think I’m leaning towards the Maxx, OG, or runt but I believe I wanna try a unit with a straight tube instead of the bent?
Beautiful vape! I don't think the disc itself affects flavor, but some ways back someone here came up with their flavor method: disc in, screen up near the top of the bowl, small load (heavy screen-cover), smallish flame. I set mine up that way awhile back and sorta just rode with it. I think it's about the best taste I've gotten from it, but honestly, I've never had a problem with the flavor. It was my first convection vape and a revelation in many ways.Is the flavor better without the disc?
Interesting. Can you see a visual difference? I have a newer model Flip and it works so easily that it's hard to believe it's even the same vape that one users had such a hard time with initially (though that update was substantial enough that it almost is a different vape). They must really work on/test these usability upgrades. Also, very cool about the chocolate! After a couple of months of only using my initial cherry Junior, I added the padauk to the rotation. @coolbreeze there's a slight hint of chocolate taste occasionally but it could also just be in my mind. The two Junior's hit differently though. The padauk is a lot more forgiving flame-wise and I can get a faster hit off it because I can hold the flame closer. I wonder if the redesigned intake hole has something to do with.
