last guy stopped responding but managed to find a new one with equally nice shatter, some "monster dream" (never heard of it, he said it was like a sweeter blue dream)
this stuff's clearer/more stable I think than the last stuff but doesn't smell nearly as good. still quite content for 450/oz

Finally made some shatter from the vac purge. Man this stuff is a bitch to work with always seems to warm back up.

How do you like that Tangie? How does it compare to The Clear? My local dispensary just got both in stock, is the Tangie worth the extra $20?

Id say its worth the extra coin if youre into flavor. The Clear is garbage compared to this stuff in that department. Ive had DNA Genetics' Tangie flower, and this concentrate smells and tastes just like it (but concentrated, duh).
On the other hand I've tried 4 or 5 different Clear "strains". They all tasted and smelled basically exactly the same.
Effect is fire on this Tangie too. Then again I've never had an issue with The Clears potency.
Edit: this was only $10 more than The Clear @ my place ($70 vs $60) but even still, if its flavor youre after the coin is worth it. Overall effect? Probably not so much. They will both get you very medicated.

did a run with some lower-shelf dispensary bud (<40/quarter). 2 hr soak using the thermos method but I think the butane might've been on the cold side (dry ice bath), which cut down on the yield.
Oil looks good but taste is lacking. Really should have spent another 10 bucks to get much higher quality starting material.

been wanting to get my hands on this since I saw ccc420 do it, managed to get the very last gram for $80... I'd say it's not a fair price but really thinking right now I'd probably be willing to pay over $100 for one of these (at least just the 1 to try)

this is for sure real ice 'wax', it's solid and you can literally pick it up with a dabber and dab it. used the ceramic nail with a carb cap, just an amazing flavor (platinum cookies always has great taste, had some really tasty shatter a lil while ago too). If i could get ozs of the this I would stop buying bho without question but at $80/g think I'll stick to shatter.
also forgot to mention, I've tried using a mesh screen to dab but it seems no matter what i do it won't melt on the screen... real annoying but this stuff leaves barely any residue so unnecessary

yield is so subjective. pack, strain, grower, conditions, pre and post cure handling...Here's some Purple Sour nug run. 9g in and 2.7 out. Seems like a really high yield. No residue, so I'm not complaining.
those who have first source access are gonna have sweet yields. those that get their material 2nd 3rd or 4th hand are not going to see those yields unless everyone was extra cautious.
I got more kandy kush just simply because I got a free bean sample a while back and was getting 25+% shatter (unwinterized) runs.... it was sticky shit! but ive seen others yield far less... like say some blue cheese auto... which was a stingy 12%!
so praised be to the high yield fortuna for you.

You are absolutely right. Yield can be fickle for sure. Believe me, I'm not complaining.
As for the other variables, can't grow my own anymore, so I can't be sure of pedigree of strain. I can't be sure of anything in this non-MJ state. I get what's available and the name is whatever my connect calls it.
