Picked up a gram of a strain called Platinum Ewok. Decent flavor, but I traded 1/4 of it to my friend for some lemonhead (smaller piece), which tastes absolutely incredible.

I had been getting my wax for $25/g at a place in San Jose which is about the cheapest I can find wax from dispensaries, but one of the guys I sold a glass piece to on Craigslist said he gets his concentrates through Craigslist as well!
Now if you search for "wax" you get a bunch of unrelated stuff, but in the Bay Area at least, you also find growers and vendors to dispensaries who have decided to sell direct. The vendor I found said the dispensaries are collectively refusing to pay the vendors decently, and then turning around and marking up their stuff!
Well let's just say the stores better treat their vendors better because I'll be on the lookout for them now!
My guy had 10g of Sour Diesel crumble for $13/g... so I bought it all
He also gave me a free bottle of his glycerin tincture!
It looks legit in the little hemp baggie but he says the dispensaries don't take him seriously if he just has the tincture, he has to bring wax as well...
Common dispensaries, it's about the community and medicine not the profit!!

My New Place in San Jose has 4 to 5 different 10$ 12$ and 15$ 1/2 grams of various crumbles, wax, honecombs and recently they been getting a new brand of $30 a gram and $15 a 1/2g clear shatter ..... Check out my video review a few post back...
They also have the most expensive stuff from other brands you have heard of for more... But this stuff on the budget end is great...
We should have a local San Jose thread for where to get the best deal of stuff........

San Diego gets so screwed...our top shelf waxes are usually $65-70/gram and I've even seen some places selling for 90/g. I don't know why we have prices like this when Orange County seems to top out around $45/g...

Old skool vs. new age! Most of my goodies are DIY (on right some good Sour I made). On the left is some good old fashioned hash. Just like I used to get back in the '80s. What a blast from the past. Reminds me of the old Nepalese. It was available I couldn't resist.
Not quite as good as the new stuff but... I'm tempted to get out the old giant beer mug and safety pin...

Sorry to double post but I just winterized some really nasty BHO a buddy gave me. First try winterizing.
Started with this (there's some wax paper mixed in there, this was mainly just for an example of color/consistency):

didn't get my enail in unfortunately but I just threw it on a mesh screen, put that on the nail and then hit it with my smaller torch (basically a ghetto healthstone), worked surpsingly well actually and gave a lot of flavor.

New extraction company in town recently started up. Since their prices start at $70/g my friend and I decided to split a gram to see what the fuss is about.
It's pretty good but at those prices I won't be giving them anymore business.

I find the taste to be on par with BHO. The key is using low/no heat to purge the alcohol. Something you can't do with butane, even in a vacum. I don't mind waiting a week for it to purge if need be. Just make more before you run out, so there is NO rush at all.
I do think that its important to consider new options and not just cling to BHO. I will still dab BHO, but come on, almost all entries were illegal in CO and WA due to residuals. Just now people are realizing they have been dabbing pentane the whole time. I'd rather dab 1/100000th of something that I can drink a shot of than butane/pentane and other things refined from petroleum. Again, I'll still dab good BHO, but I'm definitely going to make ethanol my primary method. Before it was better in every way besides flavor, and now my flavor is on par with the best of the best BHO I've ever had so far. I see no downsides for me personally. I'm mostly waiting to try CO2 when I get a chance, but ethanol is my favorite right now. No worries, at all.
