Iโ€™ve always had a special fondness for all Jerryโ€™s spiritual/gospel renditions. I became aware of and especially loved My Sisters and Brothers when the Jerry Garcia Band album was released in 1991. Also, the Cats Under the Stars album, itโ€™s subsequent outtakes, and live performances from around that time have some great spiritual/gospel material on them that I enjoy, too. Iโ€™m glad you posted this here!

I'm guessing it was as much about the vocal harmonies as it was about jesus.
How many shows did they close with this one? Like tucking you in an kissing the whole audience goodnight.

Today's show from 1970 features a ton of great stuff including my favorite GD cover of all times, Frank Stokes' How Long Blues. I think there's only two recordings of the Dead playing it and today's is the better, I think.
