just found my current favorite - Strawberry Haze!

This, by pure coincidence, is the strain that brought me back to using cannabis after a 25 yr. layoff. I broke down while at a festi (with wife and two young kids - long story big mistake) to see a loved band several years back. The couple across from our campsite were hawking bud constatnly, announcing it to everyone who walked by. When the coast was clear I wandered over and purchased what ever it was they were selling. Happened to be Srawberry Haze. Got a gram. It confirmed my committed return to cannabis. Haven't seen it since but I'm always on the lookout.

I'm a little over a year with my med card and have had a good look around at the offerings in my area. I started seeking the highest percentage sativa strains I could and eventually came to find that the 70/30 ratio (sativa to indica) is where I like things. My favorites to date are Lamb's Breath, Jack 47, MTF. All three great daytime choices, for me at least. Love Golden Goat also but it recently got bounced from the top three.

My experience with GG4 is that it leans indica. A little too much so for me.

There are almost no pure sativas around anymore. But effects are what I seek. Jack Herer is a classic head high. I’ve been backyard growing and my son suggested finding some TrainWreck seeds. Man! Arcata TrainWreck is the real deal. Citrus and pine terpenes in abundance (Loud!) producing a soaring head high. Best grow ever. And I have more seeds for this years grow.

Do you grow plants? If so, look for good sativa in Ace seeds
Nah, I’d put it in the same class as White Widow, Super Lemon Haze, Jack Herer, etc. it’s not really a true Sativa IMO it’s just older genetics with a more unique cannabinoid spectrum than a bunch of the modern Cookies blowouts.

I see a real Sativa maybe once per year if I’m really lucky. Last one I tried was from some European dude who grew and washed his own plants into bubble hash cause he can’t find real sativas. Wish I had some more of that!

I had some Durban Poison last year and really enjoyed it. True it is so hard to find close to pure sativas here in Massachusetts. A current strain I have is Honolulu Strangler which has some Hawaiian genetics in it and while I enjoy it the crystals/resin on it is weak.

Wishing I was growing some Ace genetic material. Agreed that the profit motive at dispensaries sucks for Sativa lovers.

I tried a new (to me) 100% sativa the other day: vietnam black (kiona). extremely energizing, extremely mental - the only thing I can think of that's comparable is green crack, but green crack's too jittery for me; vietnam black's more psychedelic - racing thoughts, like a brainstorm.

I don't want to feel heavy and sleepy. I want to feel elevated and energetic. I may want to relax on couch, but I could just as well get up and so some exercise... If I'm coherent enough. So many nice sativa highs. I enjoy having my mind be a trainwreck. I enjoy weird thoughts and endless associations on a fast track. I also enjoy the feel good uplifting and decidedly unpsychedelic sativas. Those are much more suitable for everyday use anyway. The mad ones are better enjoyed sparingly ;)

hello fellow sativa lovers!
finally got to try some Durban Poison after picking up an 1/8th at a dispo in IL. criminally expensive but I was happy to pay for the experience of this legendary landrace strain.
the smell and taste combination of this strain is one of my favorites. notes of ginger, citrus, and some other spices I can't quite put my finger on! I've tried a similar tasting strain called Lemon Ozium available in MI. both of these sativa-leaning strains have been some of the best cannabis I've ever consumed. uplifting and alert feelings without any raciness or worrisome anxiety. just the level of pep I need.
I have my eyes peeled for Super Silver Haze, a favorite strain of mine from time spent in Amsterdam. haven't seen it on any dispensary menus.
Had an absolutely wonderful Blue Dream 1/8th from a hydoponic grower + onsite dispo in MI. If it weren't such a long drive I would definitely go back to stock up on this stuff! pretty light green buds with vibrant orange hairs and a nice, semi-fruity scent. sad to vape the last little bit of that strain. I'm sure you guys understand that feeling!

I got the Blue Dream from Northern Native in Kalkaska. Really great place, highly recommend stopping by. They even have their various growing rooms on display! Folks were passionate and friendly.
Winewood is on my list of places to go, have been wanting to check it out. I'm very interested in the MI microgroweries and I really hope they all make it in this oversupply market. Thanks for the suggestion friend!

Note to self:
If you ever see Sour Tangie, get it….😀

I find it an euphoric, uplifting, alert, happy, content & body-relaxed high. No anxiety or paranoia. Listen to talk radio, read yahoo news to catch up on current, us & world news, watch a vape video or clean or organize my draws. 🙃 It's exactly what I want my high to be.
And when I come down, the euphoric & mellow head lasts a long time.

@neoncheesecake, can you speak on how DP compares to a strain called Sour Tangie ? (:luv: - This is the one I'd take if I got stuck on a desert island & have no regrets.)
I've tried both, found Sour Tangie better but it was a better batch/grow. I need to try a few more batches of Durban Poison before final conclusions. For Sour Tangie fans, I also recommend Sour Amnesia, Strawberry Cough, Super Lemon Haze, Acapulco Gold, Vortex, Viper.

For Durban Poison fans, try Lamb's Bread, Trainwreck.

Durban, Sour Diesel, MTF, Lambs Breath (/Bread - I like 'breath' better 'cause the stuff smells and tastes like an open field of grass that a lamb might chow down on) are my go to strains for my first session of the day unless I have to hold off until later in the day/evening. Happy heady energetic and alert. But not all sativas work for me. Strawberry Cough, Jet Fuel and others give me less euphoria and might even stress me a little bit. Funny how everyone's reactions vary with the same strains.

oh man it's been a long while since I've had any tangie or sour tangie, and it's only been once or twice. I can't give you an honest answer, I'm sorry!

I forgot to mention one of my favorites - mimosa. This strain tastes absolutely delightful with the subtle citrus and fruity elements. The effects are also my favorite. Euphoric and uplifting, with a happy calmness. This strain always has me feeling good and is a wonderful first vape of the day.

Hi fellow sativa fans,
Just picked up some Pineapple Express from an Oregon dispensary. It's my first time with this famous strain.
It's incredibly potent - 30% thc ,a little bit goes a long way. Microdosing and small-dosing it gives fantastic results. It's energizing and encourages creativity, however hitting too much too soon gives me the opposite results, I feel stupid and just want to go to sleep..
This batch has a great citrusy-skunky nose on it. Vaping it I'm instantly reminded of Maui Wowie, it has that same tropical flavor along some cheesiness to go with it. Really great effects if you practice moderation.. but I can also use it as a night time sleep aid if I dose big an hour before bed.

Really nice to see the sativa appreciation and discussion picking up.

I've vaped most of the sativas mentioned lately which is cool 👍, from Pineapple Express to Blue Dream. In the vape today, I went with Vortex, then Quantum Kush, then Sour Tangie.... all strong sativas (est. 80% sativa iirc). HAF :science:, cheers!

Have a great weekend and enjoy some sativas
