Saionara Atomizer thread

Do you notice a taste difference between the ti and quartz buckets? Or are they pretty similar? Thanks

YES, this is indeed the question.
I've always been a quartz / glass guy with everything I do.
For taste, cleanliness, purity, etc etc etc.....

However, for me, the Ti bucket tastes just as good as the quartz.
And why wouldn't it, the Ti is not melting off. At these temps it's as inert as quartz.

So, I have gone against my normal recommendations and practice, with this Sai TAF !

Don't have a Sai atomizer, but have been using the Molecule extensively..............
...............Typically run at 13W. The mod shuts off automatically just as the hit is finished. You vape everything you'd want to in one hit with good flavor.
Thanks, great to know!

You saying they’re different? Took out both skillet and quartz and the heaters look the same to me Now I’ll have to mark them and try it.
I only have the quartz, but I saw a photo somewhere (can't remember where) of the Ti coil with the bucket removed, and yes - as DJ Colonel Corn said - the Ti shows a donut coil in the bottom vs the flat skillet in the quartz.

Also the ss Taf Sai weighs about 73 grams with no coil.
The ss base alone is 31 grams
Thanks, now that you said that I'm going to reconsider getting the Titanium instead of SS. That sounds pretty heavy.

Anyone ever use the EZ sai battery?
EZ Sai battery with the molecule ? Or would the sai mole coil work also?
I don't have the SAI yet but I was looking at the EZsai...

but read this:
"please note, the EzSai can only run Titanium or Kanthal coils."

I assumed that means you can't use it on the bucket coils, (is this true?)
So instead I looked at this, it's 22mm TC/VW

I'm still considering it, only it's kind of long, especially compared to some of the compact box mods, but great for anyone who's after the pen style.

Did the material climb up the sides on the quartz cup ?

This is what I mentioned before, this is a phenomenon with quartz. The oil will literally climb up and away from the heat source. This is yet another reason I prefer the Ti bucket.

Also, splash guard and metal tube get MUCH less oil on/in them using the Ti bucket.
Yeah, right up the sides of the quartz cup! But I had it cranked up pretty hot. But it sounds like this quartz cup may not work out for me. Thanks for the feedback on the Ti bucket coil, I'll be getting one of those with my SAi.

I had been using a Longmada Motar exclusively (quartz cup) and I've never had that problem or even heard of it before. Now I'm thinking maybe that's why the cup on the Motar is made so damn large.

I think 80 ish grams with coil
The ss is heavy

Yes I see the difference of the donut heater also
Had to look
So I could swap Ti for quartz ?

Yes no buckets for EZ SAI only coils
I did use the triple ti coils sai on evolve xl and worked pretty good

Going on trip for week so was looking at EzSai but going to do the Mole on Aovape battery (like Evolve plus) really small and I’ll take the top as back up coil

If you hit the Motar hard enough you’ll see it climb the wall
But t easy to monitor because glass
My friend calls it the Popeye pipe

Ummm... he was saying the entire Sai weight with and without base.

I believe the 'titanium sai taf' merely refers to color, not material.

A titanium Sai TAF would be a pretty penny.

They are all stainless steel , i believe, with choice of finish.

No I meant the Ti is titanium not SS
the Titanium Sai TAF is 30 grams lighter and $10 more because of it.

So if you have the SS SAI TAF
the SS top is the weight of the WHOLE TiTANIUM setup

From there site

“”One Sai Top Airflow Atomizer in either Stainless Steel or Titanium. Both options come with a Titanium Bucket Coil pre-installed. The Top Airflow atomizer is just like our best-selling 22m Sai, however instead of just adjustable bottom airflow, this cap offers adjustable top airflow. Which enables the use of the Titanium Bucket coil, affectionately nicknamed “The Titanium Skillet”.
Because of higher production costs the Titanium variation is $10 more, but 30 grams lighter.””

Have one - impulse purchase on sale. It's not a bad little mod. Like EHPro's proprietary TC chip - robust, but with limited options. The 1-button control on this isn't as bad as you might expect, but it's still kind of slow waiting for it to scroll through each menu. Also, keep in mind that it gets significantly shorter if you use an 18350 battery. The finish is flawless - you can't see where the seam with the extension tube is.

It's the size and heft of a mech mod, not a pen, and the 15mm Molecule looks kind of stupid atop it. A beauty ring might help.

... that 'mod' , the pen, will most likely have poor TC operation, and lacks TCR mode, the mode most of us use to vape our oil the best way possible.

Yes, you can use TC on nickel-200 mode, if u must... but it will reach a hot temp much faster and contributes to the reclaim taste u get when u overheat your oil. I'd say 35-40w, about 400 F. Lock resistance at .68-.71 .

I'd recommend shying away from it, and instead of trying to save $20 (in this case $12), just get an Espion 200w for $40. I'm very happy with mine, the TC is accurate with Red Panda flashed on it (easy), and it's a dual-battery mod, so you won't be going thru batteries so often. The Sai TAF really drains the ol' batteries.

If you're worried about size, it's the smallest dual-battery mod so far, and is smaller than many 1-battery mods.

Hope this helps. My recommended settings mean nothing, if you are using an inferior TC device. Inferior chip.

I'm trying to figure out which saionara set-up to buy for the following:

- very light use (small loads, ~1x/week)
- probably just wax (for now)
- best flavor (don't care about clouds)
- coolest vapor without using water
- slower heat-up not a problem (I read that buckets are slower to heat)
- easiest possible learning curve (I don't want to have to master complicated button pushing, would prefer 'set it and forget it')

I vaped wax in a vapcap (big hits, less flavor) and mighty (great flavor, cool vapor), so I guess I'm wondering if - given that the mighty works fine for wax - I'd really gain much if anything by buying a saionara, esp. since I'm not a cloud-chaser.

if buying one even makes sense (mighty works fine...) I think this https://www.puffitup.com/Saionara-Top-Airflow-with-Eleaf-iStick-Pico-p/sai.ta.pico.htm is the right way to go, but I read that the quartz bucket gives better taste than the ti bucket. any advice would be much appreciated! thanks!

If your looking to go quartz orTi bucket
I agree on the dual battery setup

I’m using Evic mini primo while great with the Molecule (2days)
The sai with Ti skillet drains in3/4 day for me.

Hey.
Are you visiting Florida for a short time ?
If so, be aware that many sites that offer good deals are located in China or Hong Kong.
Not only does it take normally take ten days or longer, right now is Chinese New Year's, so everyone, and I mean almost everyone, is on vacation for two to three weeks.

Thanks to whoever stressed not storing the Ti bucket on its side.
It is very shallow and if it isn't absolutely room temp it will run.
Extra vigilance needed.

A good trick is to use one of your dead mods (I have a few) to screw your sai onto for storage, especially if you're using other atomizers on your mod.

Help! So these e cig boxes are all new to me and have never handled one until today. So rightfully or wrongly I have bought a smoant cyclone for my sai taf.
I have the tcr set to 315 and the watts at 40 and locked the residence at .52 as I don't seem to be able to alter it.
It is melting my rosin but that's all.
When setting the tcr it reads 0.00315 is this right?.
Any help greatly appreciated.

I was using my titanium bucket yesterday and in the middle of a hit the screen read “no coil found”. I took it all apart and some wax had got inside so I cleaned it and put it back together and still getting the same message. Did I break it?

I don't get it, if my tcr is set to 40watt it will fire at 40 for a tiny split second then drops to 2-3 watt with the occasional 10-11 in there. it is barely getting warm.

What firmware? My DNA250C device is set at:
- TCR315
- .532 ohms (not locked since it's a DNA device)
- 35W
- 410F

This gets really good hits, doesn't cause burning (can clean up with distilled water and q-tip, and boiling said water in bucket), and finishes off .03-.05 of rosin in ~3 really nice huge hits.

I am using the quartz bucket, but these are the same settings as the Ti bucket (which is what I based my settings off of)

Your resistance is locked too low on your mod.
Lock it at around .72, it'll read between .68-.72 with a cold Sai.
If you don't know how to lock your mod's resistance, look it up.
I find .72 to work the best with my Red Panda firmware on an Espion 200w mod.

Which mod are you using @DabOnTheTyne ?

Another noob signing up.

I ordered the taf sai with battery from puff it up today. I'm a little skeptical yet based on my previous pens, but I took the plunge. I dont like vaping off metal coils at all. It comes with a ti bucket and I ordered a quartz bucket as well. I wanted some ceramic donuts too, but they were out ATM.

I figured if I like it I'll look at 2-3 battery mods, the included battery is a single. Anyway while I wait I'll go back a few pages and read.

For now where do you all order batteries from? Piu only has the one afaik. And where do you find heat sinks, and do I need one? Thanks......

So I am having some troubles with my Sequoia TAF with quartz bucket coil. I have it paired with a Voopoo Drag Mini.

I cannot seem to dial in the temps. I try it at 40w 425F all the way up to 50w and 500 degrees. Not much for vapor and all of the wax runs to the outer edges of the bucket. No matter if I draw hard or slow I cannot generate much vapor. When I take the top off all of the vapor is still in the bucket. I adjust the air flow at the bottom and no matter what it doesn’t seem to perform.

anu siggestions with temp or wattage that works best for you?

The taste is simply terrible with this setup. I’m not sure if it’s burning or what but it’s kit working eight. My Linx Blaze is outperforming this thing all day long.

Im starting to regret my purchase...

I called Vic from HVT to talk about it and he didn’t seem to care.

Any tips or suggestions you can provide would be much appreciated.

I'm a absolute noob with these and don't have my sai yet, so take this for what its worth, but aren't you supposed to adjust the air flow from the top when using buckets? I believe I read that for the saionara.

Not sure on the Voopoo Drag, some say TC is tough on that mod. 50W is way too high though, you might have burned out the coil. It says in the instructions for the quartz bucket to stick between 15-20w I think. Although I just use straight wattage mode at 26W myself. Is it still heating at all?

Also what the previous post says about top airflow, do you have the right cap on there?

I’m running it in TC mode per Vic’s instructions. 50W at 500F is what he recommended.

In power mode what is your preferred wattage with the quartz bucket?
