Safely Killing Mold in Glass?

Noticed my Ash Catcher had grown some tiny specs of mold because I didn't properly dry my glass before storing it.

Tried a PBW rinse and an ISO Soak. So far no luck killing and cleaning the mold. So what's the safest ways to clean & kill the mold to prevent it from coming back?

I've had luck with Oxyclean. It took care of some mold that I couldn't get rid of with ISO, salt, and boiling water. It is amazing stuff.

I suspect that by now the mould is dead so it is its back to the cleaning thing. Have you given it the old salt and alcohol shake? Also hunt up a good lab manual and check out acid washing. Done correctly it hard to beat but you have to be careful.

I totally agree. If it's had an ISO soak, the mold is already dead and it just a matter of cleaning the residue which (for me) has proven to be much more difficult.

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
If the ISO and sea salt solution won't cut it and this is made of glass? Would a Magic sponge be safe to start with to get all that stubborn stuff and tight spots? Then perhaps use a nylon brush with ISO? (And then finish with water to get the last bit of ISO residue.) If PBW rinse doesn't help, I'm not sure if say, bar sanitizer tabs would help.

Thanks all!

I'm going to give cleaning another shot tonight and see what happens. Luckily I caught it in time so the mold spots aren't too big!

had some goober of mold and just ran bleach thru it and poof it was gone, but so I didnt have to do that anymore, after cleaning out rigs, tools etc, I just chuck them in a small convection oven and put it on a low temp of 130 and let it dry out, I also rinse with distilled water and dont get any hard water deposits.. No more moisture No more mold , . Works for me and Im not stressing the glass too much, you could use a hair dryer too but the oven works great,I can put a large rig up to 14" tall ,YMMV

10min soak in bleach diluted @ 1:10 ratio w/ water (I just spray on w/ a graduated bottle that has a 1:10 marker) is the standard for disinfecting. I try to just dump my water regularly, and do a little dry time in between fillings, and then I'm not reaching for caustic chemicals, but... bleach will kill shit, I can assure you of it.
