ive ran strait nug on pad with great results... just dont fold and heat crease them like parchment... I made that mistake and ruined it .got my slick pads in the mail today. I wonder if I can put the nugs directly on the pad or if I should keep wrapping them in parchment.
I was going to power it with the one controller. The controllers are cheap so I might just get another one for each. There are no marking on the iron or specs on the box. It's china ceramic rod Gong You brand. ThanksIt depends...two power sources or one?
Your first calculation of .54A is correct. Although it should say on the iron how much current it draws normally (ymmv).
I am installing them in the rollers and now in a set of other plates as well if they work ok.are you gonna install them inside your rollers??
One Rosin Macgyver for you! This guy hooked a PID to the hair iron heaters!so....picked up an arbor press today. went with the 1 ton version

Haha, "hooking up my straightener to my PID then then setting up a press"
Dead the fuck on. Hahaha
@phooka
what do you mean by waxiness? is there a harshness when you vape it? the rosin I've made usually is not as smooth as BHO but it's hard to tell if that's due to plant waxes or just contaminants (rosin, even clear stuff, leaves more residue on the nail than BHO)
I can say conclusively that rosin is much harsher. Not only am I sure that rosin tech extracts waxes, but I am sure fats come out too. Most lipids readily liquify when hit with enough heat so this property should lend itself to fats getting into your rosin dabs.Interesting, I thought I read several in here with opposite results. I've yet to try rosin myself, so can't comment with my own experiences. Soon though!

I have stopped doing rosin for a good few weeks now, since I prefer smooth winterized absolutes without the harshness and with a smoother taste and more consistent results.
Still, I can see how for many it makes getting very good non-absolute extracts possible for many, which can only be a good thing - especially because looking at pics of so many dispensary waxes/oils from testing sites, I know I'd wanna be dabbing rosin over many of them!
An absolute in solvent extraction is used to refer to an extract which has had waxes removed.Thanks. And just to clarify, when you say "absolute", you mean something that's been winterized through a sub-micron filter, right?
