I'm not gunna lie a huge factor in this for me is the whole absolutely 0 hydrocarbons aspect.
@2clicker I was thinking of just saving the pucks and throw them in my buddies Magic Butter machine. That or wait until I have a bunch and then do a QWET run and figure out what to do with it. Its hard for me to want to use solvents if I don't have to anymore. I was already about ethanol over butane, but this takes it a step further. Also if people are getting 15%+ now that seems to be extracting almost all of it. I certainly wasn't getting 20% return with solvents on my buds :/ So 5% less for no purge time, left over pucks (for whatever) and totally healthy DELICIOUS oil are my deciding factors. I dabbed some good BHO the other day, so I'm not an anti-solvent warrior now or something, but I want the majority of my oil to be solventless or co2 extract in the next year or so.
i havent seen anyone get 15% from this tek. can you link me?
solventless seems great, but not at the cost of 5-10% of a run. im not rich. the runs i do need to last me as long as it can. it does not seem like the rosin tek provides this.
not to mention all of the variables. if its got enough moisture or not... etc.
i guess i just need to try it. wether or not the moisture content is ideal sorta puts me off also. if i do a wash /washes im getting all of what im after almost guranteed. i can keep washing until its all gone. then winterize if needed. with rosin tek you may get most of it. you may not. and then have to process the rest another way...?
why not do a dry sift and then a wash? dry sifting is going to produce a cleaner and tastier return over rosin tek. and can be done within minutes.
rosin tek sounds cool for occasional extraction and to save time, but replacing solvent methods? i just dont see it.
i think i will get an iron and give this a shot. im gonna do the rosin tek and then qwet the smashed flowers for the rest. ill do that on half and dry sift the other half, followed by a qwet wash.
