Dude you've got a 4-ton press!

its a 5ton, but whos counting right? oh yeah... i was :D

ive actually not been pressing because i can get concentrates cheaper than i can press them. thats where the "wish i could grow" comment comes from. just wish i had an abundance of material to work with.

Holy shit brother, you must have some cheap concentrates available! If only I could buy full melt cheaper than I could make it. We can dream, right?

im getting very nice shatter for $35-40 a gram. flowers @ $300 a zip. id be lucky to squish 6g of rosin out of a zip consistently. the shatter im getting is an ethanol wash but its done with highly sophisticated equipment and processed very well.

if i could grow i would probably be just using rosin. that is while you mentor me in bubble processing!

until then my budget only allows for so much.

So just had to try the hair straightener method out. Had some nice guy(or so it's called), about a month or 2 old but has been sitting in a jar. I only grabbed maybe a .12gram nug and fired the hair straightener up on its lowest setting, 310. Flattened the nug between parchment paper and once the straightener was warm I squished the nug and counted to 5. Couldn't believe it but easily got enough for a tiny ball of juiciness. Gave it 2 more squishes and have enough for another go in the pax3 later as I wanted to try the pax out. Taste was pretty much just like the first pull of the nice guy normally is. Not sure how much I got but it is working for sure and am still almost in disbelief, lol.

Anyone have any better way to move this sap into the ff2 or pax without it sticking to everything including my fingers? It's scraped off the paper very nicely but then sticks to my scraper terribly...

Guys, how do you guys clean the quatz nail dish? I used the torch until it turned red, let it cool down a bit and took out the largest one with cotton swabs. With it still warm, I left in ISO for an hour. When I take it out, I clean it again with swabs and continue with residues. How can I clean them at 100%?
Leave some images below.

Thank you.

you ever been gone from a forum for so long that you forget what page you were on in a specific thread? then to find out that you have like 30 pages to catch up on? ugh

lol anyway... the fuck is going on in here? whats the newest rosin rage?

i take it my 5 ton press is old news at this point.

Hey, i was actually making a press similar to yours and i was wondering what you are using to attach the plates to the press? Is it bolted or like jb welded?

Looking at doing some rosin pressing. I had a tough time dealing with ISO and so forth so now I want to get into rosin pressing my keif. I have a lot of it. Don't want to waste it.

I'm planning on using a Lipton tea bag. Placing my keif in that and pressing with a hair straightener on very low heat in parchment paper. My keif is kind of old and very dry. Is there a way to get moisture back into the keif to maximize my pressing?

After I press all my keif I just scrape all my rosin into one big goop once I freeze it for a couple minutes. I seen on YouTube that some people will then re press the actual shatter on low heat in the parchment paper. Is this step a necessity?

my apologies for the late reply!

my plates are jb welded to the wooden insulators. the insulators have magnets recessed in them and that is how they attach to the press.

i did have to jb weld the long base on the hydraulic press end tho to give the magnets a place to sit on the bottom.

Use as it is
I would not freeze it before scrapping, you want it warm, will ping everywhere otherwise
I repress just to spread it out, helps with curing apparently

So you are saying to press the keif and then scrape together in one goop without freezing.

When you repress you just leave it in the parchment paper? You don't put it back in a mesh or tea bag correct?

I don't repress as such, I scrap it all up put between parchment then use the hair straighteners to spread it out, they have been switched off whilst I'm scrapping, just warm enough to spread it out

my keif. I have a lot of it
is a pic request wrong here? :brow:

Also I think what peterpiper is referring to as repressing is just spreading it our into a layer to allow more surface area than the big glob. IME with flower presses, rosin will spread out without any intervention at all at room temp in a piece of parchment. I actually stopped using slickstacks and the like for rosin storage because of this (with the small amounts i make, it makes it even harder to get out of the silicon than parchment)

I may give this a run tonight or tomorrow night. Excited to try it. I just don't want to waste my keif. So to repress you should have a warm straightener and not actually on just to get that nice layer?

yeah it could even be on the cool side of warm, it just works well for flattening out into an even layer

Can one make rosin using high quality trim? Ala all sugar leaves and small nugs? What is one of the best value ala least expensive options to get a decent sized press? Thanks.

Hi Friends, any idea for a cheap enough but decent quality 10 tons (at least) rosin press avalaible in Europe?

I think that's time to switch from BHO to rosin....

There is something at Vapefiend (High 5?)
.
Dont know how much time you have. Together with a friend who is engineer in a metall proceeding factory we are developing one in Germany. Guess ist will be available in nearly 3 months. But its just a rough guess! He has a lot of other things to do which have priorities.

My friend is developing and building brewing equipment and distribute it himself. He will offer "hop rosin presses" on different demands at his shop in the future too.

Complete press for desktop up to 30t in a customized frame or just the plates with heating devices and controllers.

Plates made of thicker alu and a thinner ss plate as surface to make the plates more pressure and scratch resistant. Probably heat cartridges for uptemping.

Different sizes. Round and square plates.

Real made in Germany quality.

Reasonable prices.

Everybody who is interested feels free to send me a pm for more infos about developement in the future.

I will report here too.

You might wanna contact @vtac brother, since if you are going to retail something here you need to have your account approved and subsequently labelled as such ;)

Sounds great though, I bet Europeans will love having the option not to have to ship from the US!!!

Hi @herbivore21, thank you very much for this advice!

But we only intent to develope this thing ATM. Purchase is a matter of my friend, I'm just his consultant and beta tester. I'm not involved in his buisiness.
When it should be available I would test it and report here with contact datas of my friend's shop.
Am I a purchaser then who has to act as you has adviced?

And yes, it sounds great to me too

1. I want to have a well proceeded reliable press for a reasonable price here in Germany/EU w/o costs for shipment overseas, custom, taxes,

2. It's time that such devices are available in Europe too w/o all additional costs and troubles as described

Up to now there is no great demand in Germany and the most other european countries for concentrates and related devices. So its a kind of pioneering too. No big buisiness for my friend. He will put it in a niche of his products just for fun.
