Oh happy camper here. Steve Beer emailed me and my recycler is on the way. Awesome blower!
Video? Please? pretttttty please?Realized I have never posted a pic of my vertigo pillar recycler
tldr all the posts, but "yes", recyclers:
-allow for less natural air, higher water density, more pure hit w/ less mixed natural air
-allow for good natural difussion (provided they don't have a perc in them) by churning water between 2 chambers without forcing water/smoke through a perc which can rob your oil (oil will get stuck on perc slats)
-allows a small squat bubbler to have massive churn without splashing in your mouth. You can rip the shit out of a recycler without worrying about getting a water kiss
Ask @Bob Loblaw, we tried it together the day I got it. We were overwhelmed.
I have also used a Dirty Rico recycler with an awesome perch - Bob's. The same perc in my large bubbler which is similar to a Mobius. It preformed awesome also. Bob would argue it his favorite recycler. He hunted that one down and had to fight others off.
Welcome and thanks so much for your thoughts.
I do have a couple questions.
Not sure I understand what you mean by natural air and it being less.
The air comes from the same source on a vape rig be it a recycler or a bubbler or other DI type - the male DI connection using whatever nail or system you choose. Don't understand the difference, could it be on a recycler you draw slower?
Water density? I would say the amount of water the vape passes through and amount of time the vape is in contact with it since it travels together.
Mixed air - that in my opinion is completely due to the perc style, which isn't a recycler specific thing. However, recyclers tend to preform better with minimal perc's from my experience since the effect is from the vape and water contact. Also, too much perc causes turbulence, which in turn harms the whirlpool on the funnel. I think a recycler with a honeycomb or fret would suck This is important for visual and return the path cooling the water. I agree the perch style effects vaping by collecting reclaim, but I think that isn't a recycler specific item.
100% agree on the splash back advantage. Major one.
My best recyclers are my two Hamm's, the Waterworks version uses 3 jet percs like a hot tub. It is probably the best recycler in my now near 50 collection. The Hurricane is huge and water is like a gallon - really. The vapor passes through a huge amount of water, but a normal amount is recycled since the water is high and the vape only has about the same room, but much higher drag, like 1.5 - 2X. There is so much water, a hit doesn't fully get the initial recycled water back to the perc, probably 2-3 big dabs is required.
I remember that post
So I think it does depend on the whole package, but the major attribute I have found is the vape/water contact time. Course just my opinion, which gets you a promise to share if ya in the greater PDX area
Was looking on ioffer for a cheap ash catcher when I came across this, I want to see it in action.

Looks like he's pulling too slow with too low of water, you can see it splash up some when he's clearing it.There is link to a vid of it posted in the description on ioffer. Doesn't look like it has much recycling action though?

Have this, love it, and you should totally get one if you want it.
That base may look small but it's extremely stable. It can take a Cloud or any other vape you throw on it, no problem(at least the ones I own anyway ). Exactly 150ml of your chosen liquid filtration medium is the "perfect" fill level.
Most all welds are clean except for an dotting of bubbles around the bridge on the down-stem. That's not a surprise though, many have them. Seller ships fast and nicely packed too.
Never too late to become a vaper! My new neighbor, a 90 year vapist! would like to try a recycler with his HA and E-nano. Him not being internet friendly, I offered to do the online purchase for him..He has extactly $204 to spend. I admit I know nothing about recyclers but I see lot of experts here from the low end to the high end. This reverse showerhead for $199 a good quality recycler for the price? You recommend?
Never too late to become a vaper!
I had purchased when the price was higher than what it currently is. 250usd I think is what it was then. Even so, I'd say it was a justified purchase. So at, 199, it's even better. Are there any things that he would like to prioritize in his glass? Such as flavor, smoothness of hit, etc?
Oh don't get a honey comb with a recycler. They want less perk. I owned this pipe and the only pipe i sold. Get the one w/o the honeycombThanks for the reply! He has a might lung still kinda amazing! He prefers smoothness, I'm sure! I'm not sure how his main priority would work with a recycler. He likes to do a very slooow and consistent draw. Wouldn't that be kinda hard to do with a recycler with all that water? I will show him the reverse showerhead then!
Update: He is going for the Delta9 glass disc honeycomb one. $200. A good neighbor with a recycler is a good neighbor indeed!

Drawing slow and steady is exactly what you do with a recycler. Give it time for the water to cool and contact the water.
This one is a winner, $225 - 20% or $180 + shipping. Perfect for him.

I own one and love it. You do not want big, medium size for him for less draw...
