Okay - so if your following the L shaped mod box thread you know the evic idea went south. Not easy to solder in the P.A.M. wires. The hole was too small and i ended up completley writing off the mod. Luckily it already had a broken 510. I am an amateur at this with just some basic DIY tools. Let the carnage comense!
Next idea. An adapter with a P.A.M. on one side and a 510 connector on the other. Slightly L shaped with the P.A.M. higher. Allowing SBS P.A.M. action. Gonna call her "a bit of P.A.M. on the side". This should be easy enough even for me. A 510 connector and wires to the P.A.M. The wood will litterally be two holes. One for the connector and one for the P.A.M. The opposite side will have a channel for the wires. Thinking of filling the holes with epoxy casting liquid. The mod will be upside down.
Plan to build two. One for the P.A.M. One with a 510 female connector. Will be built to fit my smoant cyclon mod.
By the way i think this mod is great. Reasonable price, sturdy looking 510 connector. Dont think ill buy an evic again.
@KeroZen was right about the connectors, rubbish even on the new models. IMO cruise mode is not really required, i dont miss it.
This is a blank of african blackwood. The connector is an Ijoy IMC-1 in RDA base. The connector was not cheap but is quality. I got two, they have really nice clamps for the wires
I have also brought some forstner bits for the drill and some g clamps to hold every thing down while drilling. Going on holiday next friday, hopefully my next post will be once the drilling is done.
Wish me luck!
