I was stopping by that region the other day, where even kites are fearful of flying, and you'd require a very powerful telescope indeed to even begin to locate a giraffe's arsehole.

It's generally a very pleasant neighbourhood to explore, but sometimes the sacred flower has other plans instead, and is set on teaching me some very painful lessons. Yes, the plant doesn't mess about, the stick is out. Usually, it's a productive experience, a learning experience, where reflection and honesty soon come into play to process this new information. But sometimes, the plant just goes too far, and overreaches its boundaries.

I then stumbled across this video.

At first, you might just dismiss this as a joke. But try it, if you ever find yourself in that dark place. Ideally, you'd download the clip, and loop it in VLC (or whatever player you use).

I was taken to a place I cannot even begin to describe. It transcended everything.

Yeah, I get it, this'll initiate a lot of eye-rolling, haha. But it certainly works for me. 🚀

I don't know where to post so I'll try it here.

Anyone on the forum who lives in Morocco?

So criminal behavior like this is going to occur right in front of everyone. Is there any chance that there will be anyone who is able to do anything about it? I really doubt it. At least this particular incidence of corruption has occurred in the period between Donald Trump's presidencies, and not while he is president. But I don't think it's going to matter, because he will certainly find a way to pardon himself on his way out the door for everything that wouldn't automatically be covered by the immunity that the Supreme Court has already given him.

Random thought, now that enough time's gone by. From what I can tell, the lesson Americans took from COVID is that we went overboard with "restrictions".

I dunno man. If we had the same death rate as Australia, 900,000 fewer Americans would've died. Couldn't we have kept getting our Jalapeno Poppers to-go for a few more months to prevent two WWII's worth of Americans from dying?

If you say no, that's fine. I just don't want to hear you ever crying about 9/11 or "migrant crime".

You needn't go all the way to the Southern Hemisphere to an island nation who may have had better covid outcomes just by being more isolated. If you merely compare us to Canada, who is the nation the most like us in every way including sharing a 5500+ mile border with this country to find that if we had the same results they had, 600,000 Americans would still be alive who are now just memories. Our (Donald's) COVID response may have been the most devastating self own America has ever suffered, all due to the American people being too stupid to see what lies right in front of them. And here we are preparing for a repeat performance.

I'm pretty sure there are statistics that show that conservative states and areas had a measurably greater death toll from COVID then bluer areas, based almost totally on the uptake of the vaccinations...
This article has some damning statistics. https://www.npr.org/2023/07/25/1189939229/covid-deaths-democrats-republicans-gap-study

"More specifically, the researchers say, their adjusted analysis found that "the excess death rate among Republican voters was 43% higher than the excess death rate among Democratic voters" after vaccine eligibility was opened."

I just heard something that makes a lot of sense. People will ask, "how could anyone vote for Trump, given all the bad things he's done!?! :cuss:"

Well. The same way I voted for a person who is complicit in an ongoing genocide...literally the worst crime humans are capable of committing

I think you might be underestimating the next presidency.

if only they had a DEAR LEADER to maintain happiness and compliance.

They literally do. His name is Yoon Suk Yeol.

People get mad when I point out the Korean War was just as pointless and disgusting as Vietnam. Because we killed millions of people. About a third of the country. "But South Korea is a DEMOCRACY look at North Korea".

South Korea was a violent military dictatorship until like the 90's. They were just OUR violent dictatorship.

That Squid Games show was based on South Korean society. That was before their Right Winger President attempted a fascist coup.
