This is the classic repub response when told science says do x but they don't feel like doing x: deny that there is any authority whatsoever and that science amounts to just another opinion. Forget science and "do for self." I know many public figures are now espousing this very nihilism but I suggest resisting it.

Okay I think I am going to retire from this discussion because I am beginning to get pissed off.
Science consists of different thoughts being discussed freely and openly until a general consensus is made.
You choose anger every single time it seems.
Do you know who said do for self?

I have plenty of friends and family who are republicans and not one of them goes out without wearing a mask and practicing social distancing. We still differ in many ways....

During a recent conversation with 2 of my republican family members I asked if they wear a mask and they said yes. I was curious about the reasoning since all this crap is so politicized/polarizing ...... the reply was "I'm going to live my life and I'm not going to stay holed up in my house so I wear a mask, wash my hands and social distance". They have flown in planes, gone to Hawaii, gone to casinos and Disney.

I approach things differently ... Like them I wear a mask, wash my hands often and socially distance. I'm not going to Hawaii, casinos, fly in planes or go to Disney. In some ways I'm envious because there are amazing bargains for obvious reasons but as Frank Sinatra said "I gotta be me".

As far as how I use a mask I have a rule that I established early on and became used to....since I don't go out any more than I need to and have always worked from home ... I usually go out for a purpose and not entertainment so....I put the mask on in the house and it doesn't come off till I'm home. I figured out how to wear/adjust a mask so that it doesn't slip below my nose and doesn't require adjustment. Can't wait to get home, reach behind my ears, pull that fucker off.

After reading Gunky's post, the first thing I'm going to do is throw away my pencil sharper. Don't want t be tempted :). Also, don't want to give anyone the opportunity to call me pencil di*k.

Look at the numbers. This disease is spreading uncontrollably (unless your are living in New Zealand). Folks who don't respect the virus are causing others to become sick and in too many cases die.

Spent the day rounding up deer on the farm easing pressure on our land from an overpopulated herd. Thinning makes a more sustainable and healthy herd. The deer that we harvest we donate to those less fortunate. A heathy deer can provide over 200 portions of meat. I feel so fortunate to have these resources at my fingertips. 4B428362-AAC2-4539-868F-92F0FF62A8BE.jpeg

You never know when you want to change the oil in your car. It's a good idea to keep a couple extra filters around. Just in case.

Good ones are Bosch 3500, Fram PH8A, WIX 51068, and Microguard MGL 8994 or 51355 or 51515.

Then, for all your auto part accessories.

This is verrry true, you never do know when you get the hankering for a quick oil change!

Not quiiiiite the same though. If/when shit goes south, of course good to have on hand... but for general use I would prefer something a little less "creative" lol

I'm in a state that makes possession of a baton a wobbler. (Can be charged as either a misdemeanor or a felony.) Creativity is important sometimes.

It's funny how censorship goes down to even places like fuckcombustion. It's not like there's a conspiracy with facebook, google and the others, it's just their solutions align.

I'm out. Enjoy the lies. January 6 is censored here for some reason.

I recently saw a picture of a newspaper from the 1950's. The top headline was simply Merry, Merry Christmas.

Good luck finding that today. My advice is, for at least today and tomorrow, pretend like the national media and news doesn't exist. Each year on Christmas and New Year's I open yahoo news or similar and the only messages are ones of hate, anger, and tragedy. On Christmas day you would be hard pressed to find anything noting goodwill or any holiday. I guess goodwill doesn't make money.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! Keep your holiday world joyus.

and don't forget to leave a packed bowl for Santa tonight.
