Quartz Banger Thread

Kinda amazed we don't have one yet (that I could find).

I'm currently in love with quartz bangers and was curious what people were using, their cool down times, fav brand, etc. There are new designs coming out all the time but I see none of them discussed here.

I've done the opposite of many and left the enail behind and switched to a torch banger for my daily use. Feels good not using electricity.

I'm currently using the Eternal Quartz 30mm skillet w/ quartz insert along with their bubble cap and simply love this system. Chasing oil with my bubble cap is my new hobby haha.

I've gotten the cool down time pretty much perfected and pull off dabs as good maybe better than my Ligers. Certainly more fun! :science:

Eternal has a new Core Cup skillet coming out I plan to try to next.

I'd also love to try a Mayoral Cup but the price isn't justified in my mind.

Curious of what other people are using.

Link? I couldn't find anything with a quick peak around.

The core reactors seem cool but man does that shit start getting expensive quick, after bubble caps and the rig and etc etc...

Anyway,

I don't like the attention that torch+banger dabbing requires. I can easily forget I'm waiting on the nail to cool down, then have to reheat, wasting butane... or taking a way too cold dab on accident and having to reheat the nail with oil in it...

I'm just lazy as shit and can't be bothered to qtip my nail after every hit, and perfectly time everything... Hoping enail is a better fit for me, but I've settled with a thermal banger+bubble cap and while nice (and definitely fun when you get it right) it's just a bit... much, yeah. Cheers.

Mayoral Cup

Way too steep at $500 if you ask me.

The Core Reactor with the cap is cheaper by atleast $100.

Eternal has their own Core coming out soon and I'm guessing will be priced more fairly.

The attention needed is so worth it IMO. Once you get your routine down it's really not that involved and the results are truly worth. I feel I appreciate my dabs more with the torch bangers. Enails are just too easy.

Damn that cup looks dope but no way in hell I'd pay $500 for it lol.

I've only ever tried a 3mm thick banger, a grail (not a fan) and now the thermal I have.

The core reactor does look dope and if there are decent ones available fairly cheap I may have to try one!

Up-Temp Drop Tech:

Load your quartz insert with a dab (normal size or large). Torch the banger red hot. Then drop the insert in, wait a second and cap. The insert and extract begin to rise in temp from zero to whatever. The extract melts and starts to vaporize. It is true Up-Temp Drop Tech.

Doing this gives the extracts full range of terpenes and cannabinoids as the insert temp rises and the active ingredients boil at their specific vaporization temperature. It really is the best way to dab. No cool down wait time, and a true up-temp taste and medicinal experience. It's pretty amazing.

It makes complete sense that we've been dabbing our oil backwards. From hot to cold. Rather than from cold to hot. By starting cold, you experience all the terpenes and cannabinoids found in the extract. Rather than burning them off initially and then smoking degraded oil the rest of the dab. Cold to hot prevents that completely. There is zero burnt oil the entire dab. It's amazing.

I'm very excited to try this with a sapphire insert. If anyone here blows glass/quartz and is interested in creating a banger system designed for up-temp drop tech, Danksta and I would love to chat. Hit us up.

Hello everyone...
I as of late...after being pretty much turned off by cca and liger pieces,and oos shit,and wait times went back to a banger...however I still use my enail...cant torch...im petrified after an almost catostophic event.
In using a 25mm crystal star from mad hustle and a 25mm coil from disorderly conduct at °550 and really like my results...alot.
Paired w/ the adjustable bubble cap it's nice.
...its also nice being free of the 'tank"sitting on the front of my glass and zero heat transfer to the joints.
These are my personal preferances,opinions and views that I wanted to share...its strange how this wasn't an active thread already but it's right on time.

I'm toying around with the idea of attaching a flat coil to some sort of clamp on my table that would allow me to rest a quartz banger on top. Something adjustable that would allow a few different sized rigs to slide right up and fit. Anyone have any clever ideas to do this?

I think this would be great once I get it setup. You would get the ease of an enail but have the visuals of a quartz banger.

EDIT: Going to try mounting a flat coil to a heavy candle holder and add coasters under the base as needed to adjust height. I'll report my results if this turns out as good as I hope.

Why can't you just use a 20mm barrel coil? Or would that block to much of the visual aspect that you want to see?

Yea barrels won't work for what I'm trying to achieve. I basically want a stationary fixed coil that I can slide my rigs up to and is adjustable. I would be able to take a dab while on the coil or I could let the bucket get heated up and remove it and enjoy a cord free dab without using my torch.

I've got a crystal candle holder and some wire to mess around with tonight. It will not be pretty but it will be a good starting off point. I feel this kind of accessory would be something people would want.

A little dangerous having the coil just floating in air, but that's part of the fun. :science:

10 second torch with a Big Shot Blazer (this is IMO the best desktop torch available).
30 second cool off.
Flavor country.

I had to adjust to using my phone's timer function, but now will not torch without it. Perfect results every time.



Admittedly, these days I tend to favor the convenience of an e-nail.

Be sure to add a shortcut on your homescreen. I love my stopwatch on my phone. I get consistent tasty rips every time. It's amazing how even 5sec can make a difference. 1m25sec is nice for me, but go to 1m30sec and you are on a new level and get different flavors.

That is a good looking option. I think the walls are a little high but it's good to see the general idea made into a product.

I was thinking it would be fun to play with a Liger 30mm with no walls. I just need the bottom part to hold the coil and distribute heat evenly. A quartz bucket could rest on top.

I played with a flat coil last night and it really made me aware how GREAT the Liger is. The way it houses the coil and distributes heat is pretty amazing. A flat coil pressed up against quartz is not giving me very even heat. If I had the coil encased in the Liger I think my results would be different.

I'm going to email @CCA710 and see if they would sell me a wall-less bucket.

Have you been in the FlowerPot thread. If not, how the hell did you miss that one? That guy Edwin could probably make what your talking about. A modification of his recent wraparound without walls might provide what you need.

Very nice looking. I guess I never looked because I saw the word "Flower" and wasn't looking to vape flower. I'll have to read that thread.

I don't vape flower at all anymore since this time a year ago but I still cannot keep out of that thread. It has actually made me consider vaping flower again. Something about double deckers just sounds milky! Good luck in your pursuit and let us know what you find that you like or don't. I'll be keeping tuned in to see what you come up with!

I just started hitting flower again too and have been enjoying the change of pace. Hoping to get a Flowerpot Showerhead any day now and really re-new my interest in dried flowers!


@Danksta I've been trying to come up with a design in CAD for an uptemp banger with an easy to remove insert. It's tricky! :science:

Here's an idea I had. Been talking with @Terpstar and exchanging ideas about a removable insert for stabilized uptemp. Got a bunch of other ideas to model out but just wanted to share this mock-up.
