It's often due to the wood not being dry enough when it's turned into a vape. If you like the PD, it sounds like you'd be interested in the CRZ. It's improved over the PD, with an isolated vapor path, and ceramic insulation.anyone else have issues with the wood cracking?

Not hot enough compared to what? We're not talking about the HI. I've used 2 CRZ's and they're both hotter than any of the 5 PD's I've used.lowfront said:In sick of hearing the CRZ is an improvment when there are a lot of users that complain its not hot enough.
That would be the case for the HI. With the CRZ, the wood type does matter, just not as much as it used to. And you won't see any CRZ's (unless more internal changes are made) made from very dense wood like Purpleheart or Snakewood. Those types would run a little too cool.the wood is mostly for show on the CRZ if im remembering correctly.

As far as a loose heat core, most experience this from either prolonged heat expansion pushing up on the snap rings or from a fall. Mine fell off a very short nightstand to super thick carpet Nd it began soon after that, but it could be coincidence as I had nevever unplugged it prior to noticing the looseness which persisted after plugging back in.
I EASILY fixed mine by using snap ring pliers in the existing snap rings to re-tighten them down. Not a movement since.
I dunno why I never saw this mentioned.
Easy as snap ring pliers....2 seconds.....TIGHT, good as new. Not that it didn't work as new loose.

Works so far...I ordered a jameco power supply on the net, but didn't want to wait a couple days until it got here.

Not sure why tom pulled the plug but if it is no longer available and he's not honoring warranties thats why it should go.
In other words Stick a fork in it, its Done!

I agree with Mantra. W/out Tom, this is probably the best/only resource to help keep our PD's goin'.jeffp said:PurpleDazed said:Well I think this thread needs to be closed and or moved into the ABV thread and archived. And not in the general vaporizer discussion thread.

Totally and respectfully disagree. Many PD users here and active discussion is warranted and sometimes valuable.
