I don't understand the purpose of this. If I set the temp I want to take my dab at, why telling me it's at temp before it really is ? Is there a benefit I don't see ?
As I indicated, the haptic feedback occurs at a point where vape production will start at a lower temp for a "cold start/up temp" dab for terps/flavour. This is a Puffco signature thing, because the devices are designed/prioritized for flavour and vape quality. If you prefer to dab at your static set temp, just wait a few more seconds and have at it! Or alternatively, you can just do a traditional style dab and hot drop after it reaches your preferred temp. In fact, I think i'll switch to those now just to mix it up a little bit!
Do you think the little pause in the heating at ~155°C is part of the algorithm or just a glitch ?
I know for a fact it's part of the algorithm. There is a different algorithm for the XL intensity as well that is different from the others. Roger has explained it and you can get a proper summary somewhere on the Puffco IG where he compares the XL algorithm to the radiant heat energy from a fully torched banger vs just torching from the bottom.
The decreased temps at the end of the sesh and boost is also normal I assume ? If so, again, is there a benefit ?
Also normal, just part of their programming.
When I said I was underwhelmed by the performances it was a bit much.
In all honesty I was happy with its performances but may have wrongfully expected biger différences with the DTV5XL and Pivot, considering the price difference.
It's probably your technique or settings. The 3dxl absolutely destroys the pivot in every single aspect except for form factor. I've settled on the stock cap (used to use restricted Kyle Wym inserts, but no longer) and 515-530 on max as preferred temps/profiles. A little hotter sometimes for live resin/fse, and a little cooler for hash rosin, but those are sweet spots with the crazy open airflow of the stock joystick cap. Performance continues to blow me away in both vape output and especially FLAVOUR.
I did a few test dabs, waiting after the vibration for the atomizer to reach the real set temp and I feel that my hits are better.
I also upped my draw speed a bit
This was the thing that took me the longest to learn, the draw speed. I think i'm traumatized from constantly being gaslit about inhaling "gently" but with that 3dxl if you want more, you gotta rip it more! I love being surprised by the sheer volume of vape that comes out when it's so smooth it feels like nothing is going in! lol
I may now have to contact both support to apologize 🫣
Haha yeah I feel bad for support sometimes but you're just an excited vape enthusiast that wants to make sure you're getting the right experience that you should be getting out of the box! I'm happy to be your level 1 support!
