I have a V5.0 and a Yocan Vane Portable, I like the Yocan Vane Portable a bit more as it holds a bit more flower however I'm still looking for better, I thought about the Lobo and the solo 2 -3 but mixed reviews. The two I have provides no buzz effect and after a half hour no effects at all compared to my bong ( 225 mg) or 1/2 a joint (1 1/4 size) that will put me to sleep in no time. Read about convection vs conduction vaporizer and I'm no better off still so what would you recommend for a pocket vape up to say $200 ?.

What temperatures are you using. I have a Solo 3 (and a Venty, Angus Enhanced, and 2-Con) and it can easily lay me out if it take it up to 210C. Very, very tasty too!

I wouldn't really consider S3 so pocketable? As I explain to you in another thread, those are both really weak old designed session conduction of vapes that you have, any solo or healthy rips lobo etc will be a better version, with more hybrid convection mixed in, however still session oriented with more automatic heating and loading the chamber (solo style is better I think because of the glass stems, but there are other things to consider as a result and yes less portable or sleek then)

There are a lot of other options that would be better than what you have too, you don't have to go to the top tier, and you don't have to explore artisan, even in the mainstream, but either of these would probably be satisfying for you compared to what you are used to these low-end models...

However either way it's not going to be like smoking, there is a lot of other stuff going on with smoking, so making the transition is more involved than just having a better product honestly

With the v5.0 I set it on red light and the Yocan Vane is best at 415, the Yocan Vane holds more and does best for me plus it's much smaller. I'm just looking for something better.

Maybe a V3 Pro? Cheap, portable and convention leaning. Replaceable battery too.

If you are trying to get off smoking and want something to fit in your pocket I would suggest the XVAPE Roffu. I use mine at a max temp of 190c/375f and that gets my used herb quite dark. When trying to get off smoking you can always bump the temp way up to 220c/428f (max temp for the Roffu) and get your used herb almost black, it tastes awful to me at those high temps but the effects are there if you want/need them. Once you get used to vaping and ditch the combustion your tastebuds will return and you may find lower temperatures more to your liking then. Many complain about the Roffu running too hot...just turn it down to where you like it, I like the saying, better to have something and not need it than need something and not have it.:2c:
The Roffu is convection heavy so the harder you pull on it the better the vapor, quite different to the early conduction devices. Conduction devices seem to work better with smaller/weaker puffs...sipping instead of ripping.

I don't smoke cigarettes, I've been using weed for sleep for the past 20 years or so. Now that I've ;earned how to pack my vape it works quite well now, Either I packed it to tight or loose but the Yocan Vane Portable does the job at getting me to sleep in less than 30 minutes.

I bought the Lobo specifically to carry around, and while I’m not thrilled about the glass stems, I haven’t broken one yet. A week or so ago I picked up a Firewood 9 which is great to carry around, but a lot more hassle to refill than switching the capsules out on the Lobo. Also much worse battery life than the Lobo, so more important to have access to extra batteries.

The Lobo is my next purchase, lot of good reviews.

I’ve heard good things about the Lobo, they love it on Reddit as a good mid range device at a good price. It’s got more convection than conduction so it’ll tend toward more cerebral uplifting feelings than sedating sleepy ones though. You may still find yourself wanting for something a bit sleepier.

Also, don’t be put off the Solo 3 due to pocketability! When I was doing my initial research I heard a fair few times that it wasn’t very pocketable. So I was quite surprised when it arrived that it fit into the pocket of my standard chino trousers just fine, along with the stem and a little pot of weed. Takes up similar space to a tinymight with like 3-4 batteries, stem and pot of weed. Although with that setup you can split the mass by having batteries in one pocket and vape in the other which is useful.

Comparing either to a butane pen vape and small torch it’s no competition though. Can slip one of those into a small shirt pocket fairly discreetly. Some solid affordable options that pack a real punch in that space. The Dani fusion is my recommendation there.

But yeah, you may find the Solo fits in your pocket just fine. Might be worth getting the dimensions of the Solo 3 unit and making a little cardboard mockup of it to decide for yourself. I’ve done that before when trying to size up a vape. It’s a little over your budget but if you can scrape that extra money together it’s well worth it. Plenty of discount codes and price cuts with various retailers if you shop around. I got mine for closer to £200 than the £300 RRP.

I find it gives me a similar heavy feeling (although not identical as you’re missing some of the nastier stuff that contributes to the feeling) to smoking at higher temps, and as you have a bong you’ll have plenty of cooling! It’s very nice to put it on 210-220c after a long day and melt into the chair :whoa:
