Geez...what an impatient bunch.....load up a vape and chill......here's your review:
I ordered the ONE with the new/improved dosing capsules and the new/improved water-pipe-adapter. Wasn't due till Monday but came in yesterday/Saturday. Thanks POTV!!!!
The ONE and the Fury 2 are pretty much the same as far as vapor production, battery life, draw resistance, speed to temp and smoothness. One of the nice surprises is how close the mouthpiece is to the oven and yet it's very smooth and for me not harsh at all. Of course the speed to temp is amazing.
I packed it by tamping it down moderately with some decently cured herb. Average grind.
- Vapor production - Good density, not harsh. If you're looking for good clouds look no further. IMO...Doesn't do the lung busting clouds like the Haze Square, EVO but you can get close if you pack tighter and use higher temps beginning in the 400f and up range. You will cash it out quickly at the higher temps like that and miss out on the longer lasting smooth tastiness.
- Flavor - Hangs in there a few more hits than some others vapes at similar temps but it might be because the draw resistance is so open that you don't cash out the bowl as quickly at lower temps when temp stepping. Don't get me wrong...it's not wimpy...just a little more aerated.
- Draw resistance - very open as compared to my other portables but I find allowing some air to slip in from the side of my mouth allows me to extend the session and still get good vapor and the taste lasts way longer.
Upgrades:
- Water Pipe Adapter - Big enhancement compared to the Fury/other clone WPAs. Doesn't go into the oven the way the other WPAs do so it doesn't limit the amount of herb and doesn't get in the way of the heater. IMO - A must have. Worked beautifully with my D020-D. Perfect draw resistance.
- Dosing Capsules - They look better than the older versions. More sturdy...but looks like it'll transfer heat well. Haven't tried them yet.
- New accessory attachment for new glass pieces. WOW! Game changer when used with the WPA and standard glass stem.
- Vibration Feed Back - Love that it vibrates when the heater turns off on timeout. No more "bowl is beat...oh wait...it's just that the heater turned off".
We used it with my D020-D and the new WPA. First time I packed it with a slight tamp and started at 380f. I already have a Fury 2 and developed an approach where I usually wait till the time counter starts dropping before taking my first hit so I did the same here. I find that I get the best hybrid affect if I wait till that counter starts but you could start earlier if you're going for a leisurely, tasty, session. The first draw was average. Second draw was good but I wasn't where I wanted to be so I set it to 400f and it was game on. Jacked it to max/430f and finished it off. About 5 hits total. Second bowl I tamped it harder but not so hard that it was super tight. Started at 400f this time and we took two good cloudy hits and then went to 430f for another two good dense hits to finish it off.
I love using it dry, starting a new bowl at 380f and working my way up as each temp level stops producing. But the size of the vape and that new WPA were a great combo with my D020-D. It's so small, and fit so well that there was no awkward, unbalanced concerns. Like it was made for my D020-D.
I'm pretty happy with how this worked out.
