Krizzle

Hi Very high
@BarnBoy random question my friend, but does the o-ring from the temporay VB solution work with the Epic Adjust a Bowl? I love my adjust a bowl glass but its not the most aesthetically pleasing! Wish I had the skills you guys have to fashion some kind of rubber cork business to make it more stable. O-rings are easy enough for a stoned krizzle if I had the right size :hmm: :D

It was cracked before I modified my pong. I filed the pong down and had to smooth down the ridges until it fit. It works real well with the Ascent small mouth piece ( inner glass stem ).

Also, when I got the VB gong in the mail, it said VaporBlunt on the outside packaging.:hmm:

@ CarolKing,
Thank you for confirming.
The inner stem with the glass screen?
Do show some pics if you please!

@BarnBoy, you have a style that is clear, concise, and enjoyable to read.

I have a similar experience related to Monty Python, having tried the elbow jab numerous times to keep my wife awake through The Holy Grail. It's like über-Ambien for her (without the unexpected nocturnal behaviors). The brief moments of lucidity are punctuated by outbursts of "What did he just say??" or "That is stupid!"

Queue Billy Joel singing..."Don't go changin'..."

@Krizzle - I tried an o-ring originally before the BB-Cork-stopper. But using a sand paper piece and the silicon tube that came with the Adjust-A-Bowl, I formed a tapered section that fits inside the PNP collar by spinning the GonG. O-rings will slip without the groove the TRVB GonG has. However if you look at some old BB post I have a photo of the taper silicon piece backed by the rest of the tube section and then the BB-Nipple/Teat. I bet instead of the taper you could use an o-ring backed by silicon tube to stop the rolling. I'm not able to really write/post now so will take some photos and edit this post later....

Here is a picture of the 2 units with the cracks on the sleeve area and the pong with the Ascent glass.

So..basically if you do happen to get lucky with a PonG that doesn't disintegrate/melt, you still have to worry about this problem?

On my PnP I can see that an indention is formed right where those two cracks are. The indention is at the top part of it instead of going all the way down. Wondering if this little indention could develop into a full on crack.

I can say this is for sure, I will never buy a vaporizer made of any kind of plastic again. What a nightmare this has been

I've had my PnP for longer than some users here, got it the day after X-Mas- no cracking problem.. Furthermore my friend who has a slightly older unit (I think one of the hotter ones) still hasn't had it either.. Puzzling issue, this one.

My unit didn't developed a crack right way. I thought it was the mold seam at first. TRVB or engineer I don't know which said the cracks develop at the seam.

If your unit gets hard to get the mouthpiece off and you pull it off too hard you can get a complete tear around the top portion leaving your unit useless. Then you are charged to get it fixed. They say it's not covered under the warranty.:bang:

@ CarolKing,

Those cracks hurt! Ouch!
Thanks for sharing the picture.
It is difficult to see in the picture, but since that pong is the OG PN type, I hope you are careful of the pong shaft not coming close to the bullet chamber.
Did you remove any material from the OG PN Pong's inner lower shaft?

I never had a cracking problem with mine either, I was one of the first to get a pnp when they came out. I sold it off just before this thread blew up with problems, not because of cracking but I was having issues keeping all of the freaking parts together. The pong would come off and I lost a bullet or two, decided to part with it before I lost anything important. I hope the person I sold it to didn't have any cracking issues.

I will never buy a vaporizer made of any kind of plastic again.

This is my feeling as well since I made my decision to sell the pnp, but only in regards to portable vapes. I have a couple of plug-in models that have plastic housings, they are strictly top shelf and I would not change a thing on them. Hopefully the baker won't have any issues in this department. I do miss the watertube!

I was charged only $50 dollars plus the cost of shipping to have a torn sleeve repaired. It tore around the top when I took off my mouthpiece, my unit was unusable ( i shouldn't have been charged anything IMO) I notice the price has gone up. Now it looks like its $105. If you live in Europe or Canada due to the cost of shipping it's even more.

Regarding my pong with the Ascent glass, I sanded it down. I also sanded some of the fritted area inside, because the glass wouldn't fit at first. The glass is just pushed in a little ways. When I made it, I didn't want to waste one of the black ones if it didn't work out. I may decide to make another, but have been waiting for the finished product from VB.

I did receive the glass gong from VB, the rush job, that they are sending out to those that have been sending in their pongs.

So this cracking is not covered under warranty, that's a bit surprising!
Has there been any advice from trvb on how to avoid these cracks?
Because it certainly seems like there's a lot of defective units out there :2c:

It would be a costly venture fixing or repairing the units for VB. They don't even have a fix in store at this point anyway. They seem to be a a loss, other than to say it's not covered under warranty.

The Baker is the newest vaporizer now, hopefully there won't be any brittle plastic issues with the heat.

I could unhappily swallow $50. I'd be pissed, but could move on.

That's really shitty of them. Not standing behind your product, and just screwing the customer on repairs is no way to handle it.

Vaporblunt needs to consult with a polymer engineer,
there's obviously better plastics available than what they're using.
:2c:
Agreed. If the repair fee was to replace the collar with a bette material, instead of a unit with potential the same flaw, then sure! But it's for a replacement. No thanks.

Gents,
I truly understand why @Burnttoast22 ‘s overly British English wired brain doesn’t understand the BarnBoy’s American farm English nor why I would so openly choose to murder the Queens English when I obviously know better. It explains why the BarnBoy hasn’t received a single like, and Burnttoast22 is perfectly correct for doing so! So why do I choose to write the BarnBoy in a style that is far from proper English? Call it stupid American humor; the idiot farm stable boy fixing a toy from a prestigious San Francisco Industrial Engineering firm and trying to help others along the way. Maybe I did this to hide myself unlike others that use their FC handles for other personal accounts in their lives. Andy Kaufman was extremely annoying by some, considered brilliant by others. My wife and parents never understood Monty Python, but the BarnBoy does. It appears from all the defense @llamaman001, @Sativape , @Krizzle, @Mister G and others understand the BarnBoy just fine… (Thanks gents!)

For those that are not enjoying life with a PonG and/or are having customs problems, might I suggest the Epic Adjust-A-Bowl again! Below is a photo of the packaging and invoice. I still love the hand written note on the invoice. Use the “FCLOVE” or contact Andrew and tell him the BarnBoy sent you…

I was so happy to get this Monday. Yes the TRVB is more stealth, but the Epic is better overall! Less flow restriction, can hold the bullet in proper place, easier to keep clean, screen doesn't clog, vapor is cooler due to longer path, glass doesn't get as hot on back-2-back sessions (think this is due to the TRVB orifice), and the Epic polished glass surface doesn't stick to WT as does the TRVB frosted GonG surface…

EDIT: @Burnttoast22 - I do like your psilocybin mushroom avatar! Did I get that right???
How does it fit?

Hi folks, not been around for a while, thought I'd check back in ...and whats pretty much the first thing I see?... Posts about collars cracking :D

I kinda gave up a while back, after receiving dismissive emails from Eric at VB about me sending my PonG back, only being taken seriously when I mentioned this place (and TRVB having specifically told me to send it back, no wonder TRVB claims to never have received any in the post), then noticing some cracking and a hole in the PnP collar, being told it was my fault for not being clean enough (i have been, it just happened to be dirty in the photo i sent them), then after further questioning of Eric at VB, was told this was actually due to a certain percentage of units having this as a KNOWN FAULT and offering me something like $50 or $75 to get it fixed. For a known issue :D I came here and wrote it all out several times but realised I was just getting consumed by the stupidity of it all, and the conflicting, misleading emails, and that it just wasnt worth it (too ill and too many other things to deal with) and decided to just back out, and give up.

I love the vapor this thing produces but I dont think I can recommend it as a daily vape at all, which is a shame considering how much I love the PnP. Sadly my experience is mostly being soured not by the faults I'm finding in the unit, but the VB's reaction to it.

I'll be using the PnP till it dies, or until i have the cash to replace it and then never use it again. I'm finding I'm mostly using the PnP plugged in so a simple log vape might be just the ticket instead. Its a shame this makes a mockery of the time I spent deciding on this purchase, and how my budget has gone up with having to replace it or PAY to get a known issue fixed, but I cant focus on any of that, I dont have the health to be bothered about it. Just gotta see it as a learning curve and a stepping stone to (Im sorry to say) a better vape, one where the customer isnt field testing the device and/or being penalised for finding known faults.

I'm not angry (any more), just disappointed :)

Anyway, I'll go back and read up on the last few pages, see whats been going on and leave you folks too it.

Hope you're all well and good :D

Sometimes you have to move on and stop dwelling on it. I have several vaporizers I use, I still hope that VB will find a fix to the brittle plastic issue. The Pnp has a lot of potential and I wish VB well. But I will not be buying anymore VB products or suggest them to anyone else until some issues get dealt with.

@Krizzle - here is what I was thinking. Use x3-x4 o-rings in a stack. Then back it with some silicon tube, and cap with the BB-Nipple/Teat. These o-rings are garbage rubber and will not be tested; please use silicon! However you can see the ring is fully inserted and gave me the same expected draw through a stuffed bullet…

Well heres my story with the Pinnacle. Had it less than a month and it was great until the other day. After using it i left it in the stand with the water attachment still on plugged into the charger. The next morning i came in to have a toke and when i was going to remove the bullet which was inside it was soaked. :uhoh: noticed the lights were off while it was plugged in and yep it was screwed. I don't know if this has happened to anyone or if this is even possible but could the hot air have escaped out the intake holes and sucked the water into the chamber? NFI.

Vaporblunt won't replace it and the ebay seller I bought it through just refer me back to vaporblunt for warranty. $350 down the drain. I guess I wont be making this mistake again having such a fragile unit with gravity fed water suicide capabilities.

That aside the vapor tasted awsome.
