Does anyone have any experience with these? Thinking of picking some up, the terp infusion intrigues me cause I can't often get the terpiest concentrates around my parts. I think a dollop of one of these with my standard concentrate can probably send me to the moon and taste awesome? Just looking for opinions on it.

@DieHard I hope you don't mind me tagging you, but I saw your post on Instagram and that is what got me looking into this, didn't see a thread elsewhere regarding it.

I'd stay away. Those are not cannabis derived terps. They are simply imitating them using food grade or lord knows what else.

empirewellness has cbd terp crystals that are cannabis derived. Not as good as Blue River though. I personally think getting Blue River terps and making your own CBD terps crystals is safest.

CBDfromcolorado.com is good

I'm skeptical of all these people selling terps. We all should.

Why is it better if the terpenes are derived from cannabis?

Is limonene effectively different if it comes from marijuana than if it comes from a lemon?

Not enough information is out on the safety of using pure terps yet. Anything food grade is likely too potent. You want the ratio mother nature created. Blue River does that and I feel safe using it. All these other snake oil salesmen scare me.

@herbivore21 has shared lots of info in various threads. Maybe he can jump in and help. He taught me to be more cautious and not just dive into pure terpenes. A-pinenne for example is dangerous. I had to toss some stuff I bought from Trinity (stay away).

The ratio is not the same as the chemical. The terpenes are chemically the same no matter the competently used source as far as I'm aware.

Ratios are different. While little scientific evidence is out there about how the terpenes change the high, there is a lot of anecdotal out there that it does. I think the cannabinoid ratios are more important and the main difference between the strains. But, I can't discount the terpene signature as having some effect.

But, that is a different discussion. My point was that I don't think there is a chemical difference between the sources of terps. Some may be better than others at what the final product contains (In purity or ratio mix.), but I am uncertain as to any benefit solely based on the raw source of the chemical.

A given terpene is generally going to be the same whether it comes from one plant or another. In some cases, one isomer or enantiomer of the same terp may be found in one kind of plant, whereas a different one may be found in another (alpha-pinene vs beta-pinene for example).

The main problem is that unless they are very purely isolating the terpenes from the original fruit material, you do not know whether what you have is just terpenes. There are no test results provided on the website for any of the terpene products and in fact, no terpene test results I could find anywhere on the site!

This is not encouraging at all. If they are not testing their products, there is no way you can tell if the terpenes used were sufficiently isolated, or if there's a bunch of other shit from fruit and vegetables and herbs in the product too that came along for the distillation ride. Also heat used in crude distillation can turn one terpene into another (or worse, some other decomposition byproduct), so what was put in in the first place may not be what the vendors thought it to be.

Another thing I've noticed is there is no way no way to establish whether the products in question are nothing but CBD with 10% various terpenes because there are no test results for terps. More to the point, there's no way to know whether the 10% terpenes they put in there aren't a handful of individual terpenes present at levels too high for safe inhalation. :2c:

There are definitely other terp producers out there that seem legit, but this one doesn't give enough detail and sufficient testing paperwork to convince me unfortunately.
