FC-199 maybe? It’s been awhile since I’ve had the ZX on it, perhaps a bit big, but think it’d suit what you’re looking for.

I was just looking at those and a somewhat similar (smaller) FC-UFO (PG5034) that's also from SamL.

These seem (to me) nice they be good pairings, but what do I know? LOL

Bill

ETA: I do wish these SamL (and other brand) bongs were better about providing the dimensions of their glass pieces. *Sigh*

The ZX and finding good quality weed with healthy CBD and other non THC cannabinoid precentages has absolutely reinvigorated my love for weed.

I deliberated for a while and purchases the ZX after a 6 month break and it was a moderate risk as at that point I wasn’t sure if I was done with weed.

Everytime I use (or look at) the ZX I am filled with a joyful feeling. Thanks extensively Ryan this is easily the best vaporizer for me and I am very happy it exists.

Wish everyone the best and to any fence sitters, if you’ve got a feeling this could be the one for you, take the leap.

I am looking at the (ZX [14MM] Plug-&-Play Bundle) and have a few questions.

How long do we have to put in an order?
Will this ship ok to the UK and how much?
There is an option to "ADD EXTRA ZIRCONIA BOWL" is this the same bowl you get with it? so as a spare?

I really enjoy reading this thread and read a lot on reddit that this is one of the preferred coil vapes so.

I don't recommend the stand that comes with the plug n play kit. It is aluminum and lightweight. The stand falls over all the time. There are other stands on Etsy. I use my Cannabis Hardware hangar with the zx.

I always put the PID over the stand for support.

Agree! :brow: I’ll load enough for a couple pulls at 35-40 degrees lower on the reading. Abv comes out very light, but well spent.

🔥🔥🔥 Very nice 🐝

Since the Plug and Play bundles are imminent, does this also mean that the new tri-level ZX bowls will ship to the pre-orders soon?

They will all be completed and shipping at the same time.

Probably still around 30 days out as it’s going to take some additional time to process everything as it’s been almost 6 months since I’ve been home.

My mom has finished her second round of pancreatic cancer treatment so I’m trying to get back to work and get ready to come back at it hard for the rest of this year and into the next year. Thanks a ton for your patience and support, it means and helps a lot.

They do seem to work well in the Ball Vape that comes with 700 or more 2.5 mm gem cut rubies. Maybe 2.78mm or 3 mm or larger if already using 3 mm ones would be less restrictive but still allowing more thermal mass.
I was thinking would a solid zirconia enail vape have more thermal mass although the air paths would have to be either machined in which would mean they'd have to be straight so may not have enough time to heat the incoming air enough. If the air paths could be added while it's being cast it should allow them to add twisting or spiral airpaths and create a longer air path for making sure the outlet air is at the needed temperature. It's probably a bad idea but just a weird design idea/thought that's been popping into my head lately. It would either take a bit of RnD to get the air flow just right but some of the prototyping maybe able to be eliminated with some simulations.

I have some designs like that based on more direct laminar heating like the old Flowerpots but with improved airflow characteristics.

Recently I’ve been playing around again with my take on an Herborizer / log vape inspired design.

You can place an order anytime but preorders are how I determine my order quantity, so to guarantee and reserve a ZX it’s recommended to place a preorder.

I try to supply what my demand requires and not a lot more. It creates some downtime, but I can’t afford to stock a bunch of stuff unless the interest is there.

Shipping is a worldwide flat rate of $20

Yes that option on my store is to add a spare zirconia bowl, some people enjoy having an extra for sharing with friends and multiple water pipes, or cycling out a fresh one during cleanings.

That’s awesome to hear people are saying some good stuff about my gear on Reddit, I need to get back on the social media wagon and try to increase my presence in the scene.

Cheers everyone and Happy Saturday Z Team 💨💨💨

I'd love to get one (a ZX) but I have no use for a 110v coil (and 220v are sold out), would it be possible to get the head only?

The Auber has config menu. One of the parameters is for auto-shutoff.

Here is the link to the manual: https://www.auberins.com/images/Manual/RDK-300B_supplementary.pdf

Page 3 has the details

One other PID option that requires some DIY work is from Omron. They make a bluetooth enabled electronic control unit. However, I believe the rest of the hardware to connect it to the coil would need to be assembled as Omron only supplies the electronic piece. I know some folks that have used that and then have bluetooth control over their PID. I'm not a DIY expert. I believe those are expensive control units and they don't include a housing. Details on Omron can be found here:

Omron just make PID's (the digital temperature controller) They're are now several cheaper makes with Bluetooth technology as Omron are top of the line and very expensive PID units(not sure they're still going or may of changed their name). To make an enail heater you'd need a PID, a solid state relay if you want to be super cautious a circuit breaker or a fuse rated at the correct amperage for not blowing prematurely(As wall plugs have fuses already the circuit breaker or internal fuses aren't really necessary but always better to have a back up I suppose) You'll also need a 5 pin Female XLR socket and a 3 pin kettle plug or PC tyoe socket and switch, obviously you can get kettle type sockets with the switch built in just get one at the correct current rating.(obviously youll need a kettle leed to plig it into the wall aswell). For an enail PID you shouldn't really need more than 3 Amp in any country maybe one could get away with 1 Amp in 230VAC countries although 3 Amp is probably better. Make sure when wiring up to ground it, I just used the grounding pin on the plug as most countries now use 3 pin pliugs thats probably the best option. Alternatively you could just screw on a wire grounding cable to the enclosure and attach the other end to something like they used to use with many electronic devices. It obviously needs wiring up and installing into some kind of housing. I used an aluminium project enclosure, which a Chinese company then promptly started using the same type of enclosure after they asked to see my diy unit(they made quartz, so didn't think there would be any harm showing them. 2 weeks later there it was up for sale by the 100s. I wish they'd done it before I built one as after buying all the parts theirs were slightly cheaper lol. There's some very cheap Crossing PIDs on sale on that Chinese Market place. That even use the same Pin out as needed (XLR enail standard)They have no physical switches though and are turned on by holding the middle button down for a few seconds so wouldn't be any good for a smart plug.

Just ordered the ZX a day or 2 ago. Hopefully I'll manage to get in on the ZXXL before they're all gone too. Although that will have to wait until I have the funds and have also purchased ZX bowl to go with the ZX 😆.

I always put the PID over the stand for support.

It'd be great to see those designs become working products. The Herborizer Log Vape idea sounds like a great idea. I was thinking about a Herbalizer type log vape, not quite the same idea but very similar lol although different heating styles. I just double checked as thought the herbalizer disappeared long ago, it looks like they're now back in production unless it's a dodgy site looks legit though.

That brush has seen some shit

This new hybrid vape without balls is what interests me the most in these new products.
Also the dab.
And I dream of having a wireless ZX.
Since I got the ZX I still haven't purchased any other dry herb vaporizers.
Even with the wireless craze and all these new metal heads that appeared, my VAS remained under control.
I now need to get rid of this wire and this coil that I can't stand anymore lol.
Honestly the only fault I give to wired vape balls in general is this exposed coil, dangerous and horrible to look at 🤣
The ZX would look so good with an aesthetic handle.
Compact, elegant and minimalist as I like
I think somebody has designed their own handle and stand which makes the zxl wireless. It looks like the handle is wooden and it connects to the top ofcthe zx or zxl just under the top lip using what looks like shaped spring steel possibly from old battery teeminals, they look about the same thickness and diameter anyway and the coil sits just underneath the thin metal strips that go round the vape and also into the wooden handle where they're fixed into the wood. There's a video on YouTube if you search for phase 3 zx. I think there's also the same on iG. If you like a bit of diy looks like a fairy straight forward process.

Hey Ryan, PM sent.

Let's get me hooked up with a pre-order.

Bill
You're getting an excellent one here Bill.

EDIT- I used my new coiled 18mm QC this morning. It gave me an epiphany about the ZX and how I use it.

I vaped a 0.3g bowl with whole buds in the QC. It got me really high. That lasted a good 4-5 hrs. Then I had that weed hangover, where your brain feels mushy. I've been struggling to concentrate on my work tasks.

My epiphany is when I put 0.3g through the ZX, which I do all the time, it is spread out in 0.06g bowls. As the hours go by I'm heavily medicated. With profound physical relaxation, and peaceful happy vibes. Yet I never get that weed hang over from doing it that way.

So I love the coiled QC, but I will be using it as a supplementary vape. It has made me appreciate thr ZX even more, for being such an amazing daily driver.

What an encouraging review.

I think the ZX (in 14mm) will be just the thing for me.

In a short time I'm going to have a curated collection of vapes that I believe will complement each other beautifully, with the Phase3 serving as a core home-base.

Great thanks to this community for helping me gain the knowledge I was seeking re contemporary vaping devices that helped me make informed choices rather than shooting in the dark.

Hey Ryan @invertedisdead , please take my money! LOL

Sorry friend I just saw your PM on here this morning,
I try to keep most customer service inquiries going through email as it's easier for me to keep track of everything there, but it's all good!

Thanks so much for supporting the original ruby / sapphire evaporator!

I hope everyone in the Z Tribe is gearing up for a nice weekend with some extra special flowers to puff on

Just ordered the ZX a day or 2 ago. Hopefully I'll manage to get in on the ZXXL before they're all gone too. Although that will have to wait until I have the funds and have also purchased ZX bowl to go with the ZX 😆.

I 100% recommend the matching ultra low profile zirconia bowl for the full Z experience.

I'll honor these heater head orders for this round of parts, but in the future I might remove the ability to order the heater head by itself again, and instead just make an option to order the "full kit" without any electronics.

Appreciate you rocking with me friend!
And thanks for enrolling in the Z Tribe!

My cheap fix for the stand. Purchased a cheap ten dollar ashtray to keep my spent ABV in and also holds the stand steady.

Quick and easy DIY!
I used to use an old herb grinder to hold the stand down before I put it under my PID.

I can totally understand wanting to arrange the controller in a different location though.

I'm still waiting on my new prototypes to test out some stuff in that regard, the order has shipped and is in the area but for some reason the delivery has not been completed. Going to try and get that sorted through today to start testing some new gear.

If there's something I really like I'm sure I'll post it to gauge interest and discuss the design.
There's a lot of different concepts covering a lot of categories in that box, so I'm optimistic there's at least one home run in there. :science:

After working on these ball vapes for so many years I'm definitely looking forward to trying some of the new portable vaporizer ideas for a change of pace. I'm hoping there's a few steam engines in there 🚂🚂🚂

Also heads up gang, I've been told the 25MM ZXXL's are to be finished from machining within the next couple weeks.
Just a handful of those still available for preorder from that limited edition run.
If you're interested in the 25MM wireless there might not be a lot more opportunities to grab one.

Thanks everyone following along and supporting the vision!

Who is the target customer for a 25mm vs a 14mm ZX?

Bill
@Spy Car. I pre-ordered one of the ZXXL 's just to use with all of my 18mm stuff. The ZXXL bowl will be native 18mm. Basically if you are fan of 18mm or want more air flow or you may just want a bigger bowl that you can put more herb into. Those are all reasons for someone to purchase a ZXXL. Honestly though 14 mm is the most common size that you will see glass water pipes in. I would say most people will be fine with the ZX I can get choked out by the little bitty ZX. The ZX if you load it up all the way, will suffice for anyone. At this point for me, it's all about having different options available. Since the ZXXL was the first wireless design by Phase3, I chose not to wait around for a wireless ZX and just pulled the trigger on the ZXXL. @Spy Car if most of your glass is in 14mm then you probably wouldn't want to spend the money for a ZXXL just to use with 18mm bongs. I have a really bad case of VAS. And simply did not want to wait around for a wireless zx to be developed. Although if Ryan ever makes a wireless zx I will more than likely buy one. Hell I'm not going to lie, I want the whole damn lineup, LOL, the portable conduction device, and a wireless zx to boot. I hate to sound like a Phase3 fanboy here. When you run across a vape made by a vape enthusiast who puts all of his time and creativity and does all of his own research and development, there is something to be said for a boutique company like that. Phase3 products are well thought out designs that have been tried and tested by various people that Ryan sends them out to. Ryan is also a perfectionist so I buy from Phase 3 with confidence knowing that I'm getting a product made by a vape connoisseur who also appreciates the same things in a vape that I do (flavor & efficiency). Ryan is a perfectionist and would never knowingly release a product with design flaws. These are all reasons why I'm such a fan of the Phase3 products that Ryan produces. Sure you could go throw your money down on a pre=order ACE from Vapvana or a multitude of other vapes. My last comment is to say that when you place a pre-order with Phase3, have some patience. I placed a pre-order for the ZXXL back in July. I have been patiently waiting since then. I don't mind waiting. Because I know that when it arrives it will be a top notch device. Sure I could get a ball vape from any of the other companies. But I want craftsmanship, I want something made from medical grade material. I like the fact that the ZX was made in ceramic zirconia. I feel that ceramic zirconia is about the closest thing you can get to glass that will you give you the best flavor. I want something that's been through several design changes and has been fine tuned and all of the bugs worked out before I get it. Ryan is one of us, he is looking for all the same things in a vape that we are. Which is the whole reason that he created Phase3. And it is for all of these reasons why I never mind on waiting on something from Ryan.

I had neglected to notice that the 25 was wireless and that it fit 18mm. In other words, I was in total ignorance. LOL

As of today, I have a ZX on pre-order.

I agree. I want to add that the ZXL, also 18mm, is really excellent. The ZX is perfect for my use but the ZXL is it's equal in flavor at least and great for when you want to bake a bigger load. I imagine the ZXXL will be similar.

I was totally confuzalated about what the ZXXL was about. I did not realize it is wireless (which is cool) and I also thought it was huge (25mm) not 18mm, so a bespoke piece for Cheech and Chong, perhaps?

I can be smart sometimes, and at other times...
