My PAX milking this tube!
That's a sweet tube, im confused by it though haha
What is that?
Funny, I thought the same thing... and I've heard of most things. Flammable hemp oil??
Hi - After 8 months of no problems with my Pax suddenly after the usual careful clean the heating temperature adjustment light under the mouthpiece is not lighting up. As well, after switching the Pax on only a red light flashes continuously and the Pax does not heat up at all. If I put the pax on charge the light changes from flashing red to flashing green.
Any suggestions what the proble might be and if it can be fixed?
Cheers.....
You are going to have to contact Ploom and get a replacement.
Unfortunately there isn't a fix for it.
After eight months I dont think I will be chasing up the Ebay seller - not their problem as the Pax was received brand new in the original packaging - the only issue would be the claim there was a 10 year waranty by Ploom by the seller - they probably believed there was as well......
Any other thoughts out there?????
If the seller is still dealing on Ebay, why not try and get a replacement or refund? I think Ploom has a very valid point that the sale could be considered as fraud (by Ebay), and if the seller is still doing business on Ebay, they could be forced to refund or replace your Pax unit or face account suspensions or restrictions. Be sure to include the email Ploom sent you if you have to file a claim with Ebay. It IS their (the sellers) problem if they offered you a manufacturers warranty without being authorized to do so.
I would have to guess that you did not send off $300 dollars to a low rated, low volume seller. I would actually feel opportunistic that they would be still dealing on Ebay and would not want a claim against them. IMHO
If not..
You could send the unit to a friend in the US or Canada and have them attempt to claim warranty service. Not the most honest approach, but facing a $300 loss (after failing with a claim to Ebay) would make me consider attempting this...
Or..
Try the rice idea. Ploom may be right about the issue being moisture in the unit and this could fix the unit. Hell, if all other avenues fail, take the unit apart yourself and see if you stumble upon a fix (last resort)!
Hey friend don't think about it like that. Look, Ploom created a product that they felt was good enough to stand up to the test of time and I personally agree with them. It's a nice piece of kit, when it works. But a large part of that $250 price (almost $190 if that $60 alibaba pax is to be trusted) is paying towards warranty replacements for 10 years. The reason they don't want to do international is because that raises the price of shipping and messes up their business calculations. If you pay someone $30 (or more) to forward you the Pax then you are essentially eating that extra shipping cost (and then some) just to respect Ploom's business model. They should be thanking you!Maybe as you say I need to find someone in the US/Canada that could get to assist with a warranty claim but it does seem a bit devious - Still $300 is quite a lot for an ornament and a sad story to go with it.......
I still feel like the airflow is restricted, although there is nothing that is obstructing the airway.
If you've given them the serial number on your Pax, you're out of luck as far as warranty options go. I made that mistake when I didn't know Ploom doesn't cover units purchased on ebay.Hey thanks for the interest - I did actually buy from a low volume seller as they were able to offer reasonable shipping rates compared with many of the shipping rip offs out there. I think the seller was maybe not aware of the limitations of the warranty so there was no deliberate attempt to cover this up. If that is the case then maybe Ploom should do more to discredit all the other Pax sellers out there selling internationally and claiming a 10 year warranty with their product???
This incident has been very annoying as I have been fastidious about looking after the Pax and it has certainly been nowhere near any water so I am not holding out much hope for a revival by burying it in a bag of rice..... To be fair I have got the Pax buried in rice at present but after a day there has been no change at all.

The indents on the side help air pass around m the "screen".Does your screen stay where it's supposed to?
edit: here you go.
The indents on the sides must be for something.

Hey it doesnt sound good - I have contacted Ploom and here is their reply
"
Thanks for following up with me. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we actually are unable to provide warranty services overseas. Ploom only sells and operates in the US and Canada, and as such our warranty is serviceable only in these regions: http://www.ploom.com/warranty-exclusions-and-limitations-advisory
One thing you might try to restore functionality of your Pax is to allow it to sit in a bag of uncooked rice for a couple days. Often, the blinking green light you mention seeing is the result of moisture getting into the electronics, and the rice might help dehydrate your unit enough to restore it.
Alternatively, if you happened to purchase on ebay or something like that, I wouldn't hesitate to contact the seller in regards to a refund. As you can see on our warranty page, ebay sellers do not come with valid warranty coverage either, and ebay can assist you in obtaining a refund since the sale is essentially fraud."

So to all you potential international buyers out there think again about buying a Pax - if you are like me ( here in New Zealand) and wanted to be at the head of vape technology be aware that you are on your own if anything goes wrong with your device. The issues I have had (and also read about with other Pax owners) regards reliability makes me think I should be looking at an Arizer Solo as a replacement for what is now a $300+ ornament..........

Try poking it out with a wooden shish kabob stick.
You could always ship it to a friend stateside and have them take care of the warranty for you and have them ship it back?
Or open it up and gently use a hair dryer on the lowest setting from about a foot away and try to dry it out.
