Any word on what the big announcement is???
Try the Mr Clean magic eraser in the bowl area..just cut off a lil piece and slightly dampen it @valleysquirrel.
brass gun cleaning tool will bring the oven back to brand new, no scratches! So I'm thinkin of selling my pax but it needs a good cleaning first
I'm wondering what everybody recommends I do about that ~classic~ caked on gunkyness in the oven
I didn't want to use steal wool because ploom told me it leaves behind some gunk of it's own -- is this true? How dangerous is that stuff?
Also I apologize if the answer I'm looking for is obvious or an easy find
Everytime I try to get advice on a deep cleaning I get completely different answers from everybody
Any help would be much appreciated
But did they change the oven lid? Can it still pop off if dropped, spilling your load?Indeed @berman1125! Finally, a redesigned but still very familiar looking Pax!
Such interesting times.
So they are stating the following as improvements over it's predecessor:

- 10% lighter
- 20% deeper oven which heats more evenly & provides a more consistent draw
- Redesigned mouthpiece - unit ships with both flat & and raised style interchangeable mouthpieces
- 4 preset temperatures
- 4 battery level indicators
- Increased efficiency with up to 30% longer lasting battery
- USB or A/C charging
$279.99 available to preorder - not shipping until April 2nd.
A deeper oven?!! Does that mean bigger too?
Well, it will certainly be interesting to see how Pax2 will fare in the current market - possibly releasing at the exact same time as Grasshopper Labs.
Who's up for taking a dip?
It could be fun!
There is a new thread just for Pax 2 now, btw - http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/pax-2.17617/
Magic Eraser does the trick on the oven surface. A while ago I had to send my Pax to Ploom for a spring problem and they commented on how clean my daily driver was. Heat it up if you have to. Also, my temp button jams have stopped since I started using 99% iso instead of 91%. Ironically, they sent me several free cleaning kits, where as their positive comment indicates that I have a better handle on cleaning it than they do.
This is exactly my issue and yes I am in the US but cannot use warranty. Its had simpler issues in the past and I've voided my warrant to fix those. I am a bit of a diy type. I was pretty certain your reply was the one I was gonna get from reading on here but there are a crap load of pages and thought maybe I had missed something about it. My question now would be, since there is no going back, I wonder if there is a way to bypass this thermoresistor of whatever it was called? Or wonder where I could find documentation of the pax motherboard?Hey @Woodeeewood
At power-up does your Pax briefly start to heat as normal & then suddenly flash blue 10x? If so, I am not 100% sure but I think it is fairly unlikely that it is repairable outside of the Pax workshop.
I think the issue may be caused by the unit not knowing how hot it is getting. For some reason it's unable to read it's own temp. And maybe it is then that it triggers a safety switch & auto shuts itself down to prevent overheating. And it displays the 10x blue flash error.
These are, however, only guesses from my observations & experience.
I have not personally seen a fix for this other than claiming on warranty with the manufacturer.
I am guessing your are not in the U.S or Canada so are unable to claim your warranty?
Apologies in advance if this is totally NOT the issue you are experiencing & I have now chewed your ear off!

Break a toothpick in half and use the two broken ends together to push the Magic Eraser into the corners. Or use something else.Yeah man I'm literally cleaning it right now for the first time with an eraser and it's working really well. Any advice on getting the stuff that's deep in the corners of the oven tho?
