one trick for moister material is to put it in the freezer for a few minutes and it'll grind very fine

Ok, I have a funny question. But first let me say on first session I already love my Pax2. For me this is a perfect portable. Very happy with it!

So, I happened to put the pax2 up to my ear while turning it on, and I hear something going on in there? Computer chips thinking? There is a click click click, that is rhythmic and seems maybe related to the lights? This is in no way a problem (I don't think), you would never hear it unless you hold it up to your ear...but on mine at least, it is there, and I have to ask, anyone else notice that?

Pretty sure that clicking noise happens with all vapes. I read somewhere that it has to do with keeping itself at the right temperature. I hear it with my flowermate v5s a little louder than the pax 2

I've tried a pretty much everything people have said in here short of using a screen and I'm still having disappointing cloud production. I want to like the vape but I am not sure what else I can do.

I've cleaned it, tried packing it tighter, tried all the heat levels. The airflow isn't great, and when I do produce a cloud I'm sipping into mouth and not getting much in my lungs. Are my expectations too high?

Finally got mine this past week. I wasn't seeing much vapor either until yesterday. I just relaxed my sip and pulled even more gently. Made a huge difference in the amount of cloud. And I've been using a screen like with pax 1. So give that a try!

I've read these posts about the smell also, but have yet to agree with that assessment for either the P1 or P2. As others have said, you're heating the material in a little oven. It's bound to smell a bit.

No way does this potential small odor decrease the stealth factor.

The smell during the session is not the issue here. The issue is that both before and after the session the unit has an odor to it. I kept mine relatively clean but the mouthpiece and the oven had a strong odor to it. Ultimately rendering it useless to me. My portable unit must be "portable" in all aspects.

I think that smell might end up being a issue with all portables. Or heck maybe I am just use to the smells. I find the pax2 no more smelly than other vaporizer in my collection. Have you considered a smell proof case? It give you somewhere to store extra material and wouldn't take to much away from it being portable.

Or maybe when out and about not use the highest setting. That might help keeping the smell down. Have others noticed there pax2 really smells worse than other vaporizers. My sense of smell hopefully isn't that bad. If others are noticing bad smells I would like to hear more about it. Heck maybe I need a smell proof case?

Just wanted to update ya'll - my Pax2 waterpipe Adapters are nearly complete, according to beta testers, it sounds like the silicone actually fools the lip sensor!!! I am going to modify the design to make it even better, and try reprinting this weekend. Still hoping to have this finished before the end of this month.



On another note, regarding the Pax2 Odor. I recently found these vinyl caps which will fit both ends of the Pax2. I still need to get some pictures for my store listing, but I've added them to my store so you can purchase them now (or wait until I release my Pax2 SonG Waterpipe adapter!)

Sip it don't rip it. Slow it way down...like to the point where you are like am I even inhaling? Oh and add a bent screen

im assuming the bent screen is for a partial load or a half load? one of the things i found out is the more surface contact the materials have with the inside of the oven the more it will increase vapor production... so because of that i based the theory that if you want more vapor produciton then a full load is better then a partial load in that a full load covers the entire inside surface of the oven while a partial load leaves open/uncovered areas inside in the oven that wont produce as much vape but also (see quote below) Scott Dunlap said pax2's new oven design has more surface areas in all the right places so thats why i was kinda thinking that about a full load would be better

Packing the oven, using spacer etc. I guess is just a habit that's left over from my pax1 days. I never liked the taste of a Pax1 oven that wasn't finished. Never tasted good, so tended to use smaller amounts in a attempt to use it all in one session.

With pax2 taste is much better so able to stop restart the device. Going try packing oven really tighter without extra screens and do 3 sessions before I change load. That should be enough for a day out.

For sure, a Pax2 with a full oven is a happy Pax2. It's a conductive vape, you have to grind well and fill the oven completely to get the heat to properly travel through your material and release that tasty vapor. Yes it seems like a lot to pack in there compared to some other vapes, but you have to honor the principle of the device to have any reasonable expectation of good results with it.

Fully packed oven with good materials is producing nice, fluffy, flavorful clouds over here, that's for sure. Been starting on lowest heat setting and then going up a petal each time vapor production tapers off. Great results on all settings!

Ok, so the clouds are not as big as a desktop vape, but with the short vapor path I would be coughing up a lung if they were. I really think the clouds are perfect volume wise, when balanced with the heat of the vapor. Imo this thing is really dialed in for a great experience relative to it's impressively small size.

I love mine, and it's keeping me company on the couch while I recover from some minor surgery right now.

Read about this on another site thought others might find it of use.

For those that can't get it into stealth mode, you have to shake it up and down vigorously until the light looks dim. In the daylight you would think the pax is off, but at night it's faintly white. Hope this helps. Shake it as soon as you turn it on.

Thanks, got it. I was just thinking last night the led looks cool but isnt stealthy.

Turn on and immediately shake until battery level shows...it should come back very very faint white and the oven on

That is a nice hidden feature. It's nice to see them pack as many bells and whistles as they can into this. For the price, they should.

Ratchett, can you explain what you meant about the lip sensor being tricked? You mean to say the sensor reads the silicone as being skin, and fires the device properly, or that it bypasses the feature entirely?

I am getting some better sessions now. Dry herb. Fine grind. Tamp in hard til half full. Then stir when vapor reduces and get a few more pulls. I'm starting to like this

Long time lurker, had to create an account since fc has helped me as a definitive source of user reviews and personal experiences. Thought I'd contribute to the discussion and share a cheapo waterpipe attachment tip.

You can easily use a piece of vinyl tubing that fits into your downstem, lip sensing still works perfectly. Use the raised MP and make sure one of the holes is plugged shut.

It does have a learning curve for new people though. With the old pax I would just say here take this and just hit it. You do have to explain it a little bit more about how to hit it

Can you let us know how this tricks the mouthpiece sensor into believing our lips are on the pax? How exactly does it work? I know Ratchett's , works because the plastic tricks the sensor into believing your lips are on it, how about your product?

I'd like to thank everybody in this thread (especially @Ojan_at_PAX) for steering me away from Vapor Earth, as I was going to take advantage of the deal on reddit. That 10 year warranty is a big kicker for getting one of these. That shows real pride in your product as well as respect for your customers. And I want to make sure I'm going through the proper channels!

@NewVape710 I noticed in some of the images on your website you have a non-stock oven lid with what looks like holes for increased airflow. Any plans on selling those? Or is that from somebody else?
