Yeah you make a lot of good points.
Maybe only the first disk or two would fire, but in order to get all three to fire, I bet you would have to be ripping it pretty hard.
Yeah Chinese frits are a bit questionable to some members.
I would much rather see a normal showerhead with like 10 slits and maybe we should have the bowl joint in the center (instead of on the side like the Dragon hookah) and have that tube split into 2 tubes and have 2 shower heads more in the center of the tank. I think both of those would definitely fire with a normal pull.
There has to be something on DHgate (or somewhere) that we aren't finding. I remember about 3-4 months ago there was an exact knock off of the Lavoo MP5-X on DHgate, but the minimum order quantity was 20. I contacted the seller asking for a sample order of 1 unit, but he wanted like $200 so I declined. Now that piece isn't even listed anymore.
I like the two showerhead idea, and would buy the shit outta that piece. With how little interest there is, though, I think we aughtta just back-burner it for now. We'll see how the UFO plays out, and if there's still interest we can bring it back up. I the meantime, please let me know if you end up getting that dragon hookah, I'm quite interested to hear how it is...
@cybrguy Besides the diffusion pump I don't think any of the future pieces will be male jointed. I have not forgotten the flower lovers, I am one of them. What did you have in mind?
I would like to get back on topic with the UFO bubbler. For those of you wanting to hook it up to a hose please post about this aspect. Do you want it to just come with a whip adapter like this?
Should it also come with a hose and mouthpiece? How long would the hose be? Like a meter and anyone who wants it shorter can trim it? What should the hose be made of?
That whip connection looks perfect to me. I also like the idea of a glass mouthpiece for the other end of the hose. Just seems classy... Regarding the material for the hose, regardless of what it comes with I'd probably end up getting some quality, American-made silicone tubing like this (
http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B000FOWG...lid=3ATQQIIPH5TKW&coliid=I2I6NXCUMYC6K2&psc=1) to replace it, as I'd just feel more comfortable knowing that it's high grade material. Regardless, I'd say make sure it comes with at least a meter so, as you say, people could cut it to their preferred length.
Edit: I have been thinking about something like this. It is an inverted matrix bubbler.
Huh. I'm honestly not sure how this would function. The only functional inverted matrix I've seen is the lower perc of the stereo matrix, and I think it's pretty widely agreed that it's a bit over-engineered for the purpose. If you look closely between the two percs you can see the kind of diffusion a single, inveted matrix has, but without the second perc above it to disperse the bubbles I'm not sure how much it would diffuse in the end. I don't think we could really know how it stacked till we saw a function video though.
If you did end up producing a prototype, I would think you'd want a shorter stem above the perc, so that it doesn't constrict the stacking bubbles too much. For that type of design, it honestly might be worth going for a simpler perc.
Incedentally, the only other piece I've seen with something like an inverted matrix is this strange offering from our good buddy steven:

I was actually looking at and wondering about this piece anyway... I'd love to see a function video, and it might give you a little insight into how an inverted matrix would fire. Since you've got the good working relationship with steven at the moment, would you ask him about a function video for this one?
EDIT: Actually, it's super easy to see the function of an inverted matrix... I just blew gently through my d020-D and watched the water bubble up the downstem. I'll bet it wouldn't be too hard to macgyver up something so that you could stick the bowl in the mouthpiece, add a chamber above the dewar with a mouthpiece (perhaps the top half of a plastic bottle) and essentially hit it backwards. Could do the same with the FC-187... That would give you a pretty accurate preview of how your idea would work.
