So, my buddy had a few vaporizers, the Extreme Q and the Solo. At first I wasn't too enthused with the idea of vaping, because he was using bags on the EQ. I was a heavy smoker and had been for near 15 years. So the bags were just not cuttin' it for me. A few days later, we were chillin' again, and he was showing me all the accessories to the EQ. I was like dude, use the whip! Rofl, I'd never seen a vaporizer IRL at that time, but I instantly realized that the whip would be most like smoking it.
It was an excellent idea because we were ripping huge clouds with the whip. It was nice, but I just couldn't handle the vape. It coughed up a lung each time I hit it. So much coughing that I'd get a major headache. This was no fun. I couldn't really get too blazed from it because I couldn't stand to hit it because of the coughing. Anyhow, I vaped anyways and got the headache high we all hate.
Fast forward a bit, and me and the same buddy are cruising and using the Solo.
I hated IT too. The restricted draw was WHACK! and I just couldn't get a hit. Since i was still smoking all the time, I equated the resisted draw with something like the tightness of a blunt or joint, or a bowl that was packed too tightly. In those situations, you wanna draw on it very hard to get the air flowing and get that cherry glowing. However, with the Solo, my buddy told me to only draw as hard as the stem will allow. Following this instruction, I hit it easily, and took a very long, exaggerated, draw, and MAGIC! I coughed out a huge cloud of deliciousness. Then... more coughing.
During our vaping sessions, he would brag about conserving his herb because he uses the Solo so often. .1-.2g will deliver an almost innumerable amount of hits, and leave you blitzed. So eventually, I felt like, I should be getting more from my herb. Plus, it's way less stinky to vape, so its way more stealthy. I decided that I too wanted to be an ever conserving vaporist.
After a lot of pondering, and tons of research (watching review vids on youtube, and bouncing around FC and GC forums), I decided to get the Arizer Solo. It's dope... pun intended. I was very happy with my purchase, but I was still upset because each rip would leave me hacking my lungs up. --Did I mention I smoke near 2 packs of cowboy killers each day? Yeah, well I was-- My buddy who introduced me to vaping (he's a non-cig-smoker), rarely coughed from it. I'd cough like a noob each hit!
So I broke out my old trusty Riva e-cig. Went to a few different e-cig websites, got some new 510 atty's and some highly-raved-about e-liquid (NiteLiteVapors' Fruit3), and wow, NO MORE coughing. It was almost instant. After 1 day of substituting my disgusting cigarette habit with the Riva, there was a considerable difference.
Now, I've been almost completely smoke free (cigs and herbs) for the longest time of my adult life, and I couldn't be happier! I love my Solo! But, I have to say, if it weren't for dropping the cigs, I probably wouldn't have been able to keep vaping. So now I vape my cigs and my meds. The Arizer Solo is a great machine. There's nothing bad at all to say about it. I'm super happy that I bought this instead of the MFLB. However, I DO have to charge it up all the time. It's not a bad thing, since it IS a portable unit, but I need a wall-unit.
Once, again, I've been researching vaporizers, and I've come down to a couple options. I want either the SSV, the LSV, or the EQ. I have read so many different reviews and comparisons, and I just want someone to be straight with me on this. I don't have a glass water piece/pipe so that would not be a determining factor for me. Also, neither is conserving. Lol. I know that it sounds a bit contradictory to the reason I bought a vaporizer to begin with, but I won't lie, I'm a glutton!
Sorry this is such a long post, especially for a first post. That's just me, I like to talk!
